Been a while since I have dropped by. Wanted to thank those behind the scenes that put so much effort and work into the Trixies! Tip my hat to the voters as well. Thank you for the parks nod...it's an honor to interact with this marvelous community and the memories made along the way are priceless.

I've been away from Simtropolis and the game for more than a year. Today I logged in to download the new NAM and perhaps work on a new project, and... Wow! I see Leningrad awarded as City Journal of 2015. That's just amazing! Thank you everyone, and thanks as well for remembering me in the "Miss you" trixie. I will be back sooner than later :-)

Congratulations to all the winners!

I almost forgot that I updated New SorGun back in 2016.  Big thanks to those who enjoyed it!  In the words of General Macarthur... New SorGun shall return!  *
Congrats to all the other recipients!  Well deserved on all accounts.

So, it's been quite a while since there's been any activity in this forum - I'm curious if there's any updates on the status of the 2017-2019 Trixies? I understand how busy the admins and staff have been with other commitments as of late, but it seems like the Trixies have fallen off the radar.

These awards were Simtropolis' gold standard for recognizing contributions since the site's founding in 2003 - I believe it's important to continue on the tradition and make sure that achievements from these last few years get recognized in the same manner.

Given that it's now been about 3 years since nominations were last taken, I'm concerned that it will only get more and more challenging for voters to remember what contributions were made over the years.

I'm also wondering if we'll recognize each year individually like we did for 2015 and 2016, as opposed to clumping all the years together. Despite the long timespan, I feel that doing each year individually would still be the fairest way and ensure that no quality contributions would be left out.

I just came to Simtropolis about 6 months ago, but I think of here as my family, When reading the words between the lines of Korver, I can still feel and image its former splendor. I think the tradition is very important to such a famous forum. So I would gladly lend every effort in my power toward its realization.:}*

It indeed has been a while, and I can confirm there are no updates on the Trixies as of yet. However, since your post here, we've opened an internal staff discussion on the possible prospect of a staff led team orchestrating the Trixies again. We're also open to the idea of how for the first time ever, selected active contributing members could be asked if they're willing to volunteer and assist with the structuring, counting, and presentation. As admins, Cori and I would be around to push the buttons, while a dedicated Project Leader would take charge to ensure the Trixies are a success again this time around.

Seeing as you're someone very passionate about the Trixies yourself, would you be interested in being involved with the coordination of the awards? If so, you're welcome to send me a PM where we can discuss it. For anyone else reading this wishing to volunteer also, we invite you to contact the Project Leader who will be announced in due course if one is found to take on this massive job. Assuming someone (other than Cori and myself) steps up to do so.

(We've too many other irons in the fire to run the Trixies ourselves, and so we'll only be doing admin-related functions no one else can do for the awards.)

The team tasked with running the Trixies would indeed aim to uphold those values, and importantly focussed around the integrity of the nominations process with making sure everything is conducted as fairly as it can possibly be. Of course, those who don't receive awards are still valued when contributing positively as members of the community, but nominees and awards recipients are to still be community chosen.

In the future, we're also open to the idea of a year-long nominations process so people could nominate immediately when someone comes to mind. But that'll be something for future events, and this time around the precise format will be one based around what worked well previously.

That is something the Awards Coordinators will indeed have to consider. Perhaps something similar to the build-up that was run last time might work well, as a way to surmise the contributions and events from 2017-2019 over the past 3 years.

This seems a logical way forward indeed. Of course, last time the aim was to prevent years needing to be merged into one Trixies again, but that's where we are and it's doing the best with what can be realistically achieved. It is a lot of work involved with the process, and so people who are dedicated in seeing this through will be the ones to lead the Trixies now and (hopefully) for future iterations also. The precise format will be best decided by the team committed to leading the process, and they themselves will discuss and decide on the most suitable approach.

Sounds great!

If a Project Leader is found, they'll send you a PM with what'll (hopefully) be happening next. *:thumb:

Let me give a suggest? I saw the last trixies and noted it have a lot of categories. I know that all categories and all awarded are merited and importants, but I think that we have some awarded every year is better that none awarded for a long time. :uhm:

The more categories, the more difficult and time consuming the work and the less availability people have to organize it. :lost:

I went to count (but I think I'm lost :boggle:): in 2015-2016 were more than 50 awards per year. o.O

Unfortunatelly, I can't help, but my suggest is reduce trixie to 5 categories: best city journal, best mod, best bat, best forum participation and honored award. *:)

Dear CB, Have we found out a Project Leader?*:D I just guess that those medals under @Terring's portrait are come from here, since rarely accessed simtropolis with computer. And don't know whether we have a Rookie of the year award, Such as NBA, It would be honored if could be one of the nominees.*:D

Hi Raymond,

I can confirm that there has been a Project Leader who has stepped forward. It will be up to them to decide what happens with the Trixies this time.

I'm sure that could be considered as an award to be given for people to nominate. You certainly would be very deserving. *:)

@City_Slider

With being 4 years ago, we just keep this forum for archival purposes for anyone wishing to read about the 2015/2016 Trixies.

There has also been talk about a revival of the Trixie Awards, but no confirmation about if/when that might happen.

(I've moved our posts to the main thread, where there's prior discussion above.)
