Starting on a Kmart based off the locations in Bath, NY and former Kmart in Conneaut, OH. Both stores are smaller then most at around 60,000 sq. ft. and likely were late '70s small town builds.

I enjoy stopping at the Bath Kmart location every now and then and thought it would be a perfect fit for SimCity.

It sure looks good so far! Is it intenional that the parapet wall is interrupted above the main entrance, though?

Yes, for now at least. I have to work out how the facade will work out there.

Is it me or is my Kroger and shopping center oversized when next to Heblem's and Simgoober's stuff? I'll leave it up as it is, but I plan to keep this in mind moving forward. I think my Kmart needs shrunken to go for the feel I'm trying for, that is depending upon your feedback. This small Kmart feels like it is just as big as Heblem's Big K which is something I'm not to thrilled about.

TBH I think the size is great the way it is, for the Kmart you would be surprised how many Kmart and Big Kmart may be bigger. Here is a couple near where I live.

The Last in New Boston Ohio is a Kmart that is actually bigger then the Big Kmart in The first one Maysville Ky which is a big Kmart. fyi both are now Rural Kings as in last year.

Yeah, I suppose this would be about the right size in comparison to my Kroger, but I'd like more opinions.

Heblem's feels like the perfect size for a larger store (like the ones you showed) so I may need to shrink mine. I may have made my Kroger shopping plaza too big.

I'm definitely liking this smaller version better, but let me know what you think.

I really need your HELP. PLEASE let me know which is better. I'm torn up as to which one should be released. This wouldn't bother me if I was going for a larger Kmart store, but this is meant to be a much smaller Kmart.

    Pros/cons:

    Bigger Kmart:

    • Pros:
      • in scale with my Kroger shopping center
    • Cons:
      • Feels way to big in comparison to Heblem's Kmart which is is whom I've been trying to scale my stuff around
      • Lot size footprint feels way to big since it would need a footprint bigger then Heblem's Kmart.

    Smaller Kmart:

    • Pros
      • Feels like the right size lot footprint for a Kmart of this size
      • In scale with Heblem's Kmart
    • Cons:
      • Does not scale with my Kroger shopping center

I'd vote for bigger one. I think Heblem's is actually more or less also a smaller KMart. Also the smaller one looks like the doors are only 4-5 foot tall. Maybe put some maxis car or people props next to it for scale and see how both of them look.

Agreed. Throw some props next to them both and see how they look. My intuition says to go with the larger one.

The only thing I wish was different is the size of The Kmart Sign I wish it was just a little bigger.

That wasn't very hard, now was it?

@DavidDHetzel While that is wrong that was a brilliant guess. I honestly can see where you get the Kohl's look from it now that you mention it. I might retexture it and make the building larger now for a reskin. Thanks for the idea.

didn't help that the Wal Mart market in my area is Gray and White.

Most are like this. But the ones in Louisville and Lexington Ky are with the old logo which is crazy. I do think that some go off different design but 90% of the ones I’ve seen look like this on up above. Here what one in Lexington Ky looks like.
