From now on i will post about any buildings i make in here. not much more to say. So lets start right off with the first one:

This simple but colorfull motel ensures to brighten up any cities (coastal) towns and counties. works with ploppable RICO so it doesnt lack anything in functionality.

NOTE: the Model is not mine, its converted from the 3d warehouse, i edited it and removed unecessary additions, the textures are all mine though, it was really fun to work on this building's texture to see how more colorfull buildings would come out in CSL. not too shabby if i say so myself.

Back from another break, yay, rejoice. party, whatever.

anyway, yea, im back, atleast for a little while, in the meantime, i made a 7x6 oil storage depot for the colorado oil company, i made the building myself, decorated it with @Avanya's pipes, the industrial prop pack and SAPS walkways.

its gonna be a RICO ploppable oil industry, with around 20 jobs

    here some screenshots !

So some more horrible trash, ehm, Awesome assets.

a cozy, modern Art Deco style villa for your citizens to live in, its a growable home, and comes with a large garden with various flowers. oh, and a swimming pool !

But wait ! theres more !

How about this small dealership ? 5x4 in size, has 10 commercial workplaces, and works with RICO. comes with various classic car props, because thats pretty much my style :P

slightly dissapointed the posters didnt came out as nice as they were supposed to be, but thats something to learn from.

Look sharp ye landrats ! cap'n iglo is here to catch some fresh fishticks in his trusty trawler !

It might look dusty and rusty, but she still works, plop her anywhere in the water and watch her float.

so yea, its a ship prop that floats upon the waves. the model is not mine, i only textured it and converted it to csl and edited it to be more optimised than it was.

special thanks to @Lee Towers for making a guide that explained how to make a prop float on water, without him this prop wouldnt be.

the way it will whobble on the water is dependant on how high the water surface is from the ground, the higher the water level, the more it will sway, the lower, the calmer it will move.

That rusty boat looks really cool! are you planning on leaving it only as a prop, or are you going to import it as a cargo ship as well? I hate massive container ships trying to navigate my narrow rivers.

i'm honestly surprised this thing got so many upvotes in one day, apparently this decorative rusty radio tower is pretty popular in the workshop. I'm glad you like it !

Not a building, but whatever, it fits in here too.

Another old trawler. named Blythe Spirit. this time its a vehicle that works as a cargo ship, and is compatible with @Acc3ssViolation's vehicle effects ! floating prop will be released too.

its a conversion, but it looks beautifull if i say so myself, im in love with it.

Nice boats! Looks like you went a bit overboard (heh...) with the normal map on the trawler, or it needs a new layer of anti-fouling paint... ;) (judging by the first picture - I haven't tested it in game yet, so can't really tell for sure)

thanks ! hope youll enjoy em, an oh, the puns.... :P

the normal map actually looks more accentuated in the first picture because its rendered in sketchfab with a weird lighting preset i cant change. ive actually toned down the normal map a lot so it doesnt look super sharp in CSL

saw someone commenting on the radio tower that they want an ND version of it and that you dont own it. I could do the import for you and then just give you the .crp so you can upload it as an NP version too.

if you could do that that would be awesome, wont it affect the way the building functions after i upload it ? (because yea i dont have ND)

So, i made something entirely different again. recently i started building my own mediterranean styled island republic (but thats not for this topic :P) and found myself in need of some small but efficient power source, after some thinking i decided why not, lets make a solar collector dish, it doesnt take up as much space as most solar power sources, and can be plopped anywhere exept from water.

    But it gets better........

After some short research and some fiddling with settings i managed to animate the dish, it can actually rotate around ! here a video to see it.

    But what's the catch?

The catch is that its based on the windmill template, and thus functions as a windmill, ive done this, because in order for the animations to work it has to be based upon the template of an asset that already has animations.

Ya so i haven't posted on here since a long time, but ill just start doing so again.

heres something i completed yesterday, ive had the model for a long time but was too bored to fix it untill yesterday.

it's a flying boat, to be more precise, it's a HU-16 Albatross. Its a prop aircraft that floats on the water !

progress: Shes coming along nicely if i say so myself. I removed the radar on top of the mainmast because i was not statisfied with how it looked. Instead of that i just made it a more common antenna. I also added the 'H-bitts' and finished the railing. other details include the horns, as well as some tire fenders, on the bow of the ship i added a rubber bulkead, i chose for a mix between bulkhead and tire fenders because otherwise i would have to use more tire fenders which pulls the polycount up even higher than it already is, also included is the winch.

I'm not statisfied with how the bulkhead on the bow looks, and im considering to make it look more panel'ish. not shown in the screenshots but what i also did add was a lamp on top of the bridge, as well as some circular windows.

currently it totals around 6.8k poly's, which is pretty high. i know that there are lots of polygons in the railing, but the only way to optimise that is to use 2d planes, (and im not a fan of using 2d railing and ladders) i will see if i can optimize it any further but i dont want to throw too many details out of the window.

I should mention that im not modelling this solely for CSL, but also to fill my art portfolio in the hopes to join the game art study this year. so thats why its fairly heftily detailed.

A good compromise for the railings could be a 3D upper bar with the supports being flat planes. Same with the ladder - there's almost no reason for that to be full 3D, especially since it's up against a wall.

hmmm, im not a fan of 2D planes, because all i ever find for good textures are horrible ones. but your idea of a compromise isnt a bad idea at all. especially for the supports under the railing, hadnt thought about that way of doing so.

guess i will try and see what i can make of it by using 2D planes !
