Love the detailing on the rails.. can't wait to see more  progression pictures of this city.

Looking back through your CJ, I love the airport you made, very inspiration and the marinas you've made are fantastic.

It looks like a city somewhere in Utah.
Beautiful and realistic. I've seen so many "Dubai" cities, and they look fake and lacking culture and history.

Yours is one that has substance.

It looks like you are building a medium-sized city, and it looks pretty much done. Do you have plans to grow this into a large metropolitan? If not, there doesn't seem to be much left to be done. Some cities are just this way in real life.

    Thanks Libertyville!

The plan is to just keep on expanding the city until i get bored of it haha.

As you say, for a medium sized city its pretty much done. Guess I'll have to expand it to a metropolitan!

Great journal. I've tried to create a yacht club.

Can I ask you how you get the boats/yachts to flow on the water?

When I placed the yachts, they float above water. Thanks.

    Thanks Libertyville!

I think its because you are placing them to close to the piers/land. Try placing them abit more out on the water.

This is such and awesome city, well done man. Also if you could use the Dynamic Resolution right before you screen shot and Sharper Textures that would be awesome.

edit : also just realised this was my first actually comment since July,2009

I agree with that, there's a lot of Dubai stuff about, it's just not that interesting.

Hope you get to finish the city!

i like it the way it is.

if you expand it into a metropolitan, it'll change the vibe. then basically a different kind of city.

i find that if i build a big city, i have to experiment with new things, or i will get bored with it. my city is full of different kinds of layout/transit experiments. i like how these form different types of neighborhoods. i'm playing using the Shady Strands map, and it offers great opportunities and varieties to play with.

You could keep it medium sized by building up the villages and things that necessarily are around your area. Or, you could sprawl more residential, try different techniques for each neighbourhood. :>

I admit, this is one of those CJs where I wish you would tell me the story of your city from an in-game perspective. There's so much detail, and it's an actually completed town by now, there's bound to be some great stories there ;p

Nice! I was trying to make a ferry terminal something like this, but ended up abandoning it. This makes me want to give it another go... I'd sure like to have some proper RoRo ferries and ramps though!
