Yeah I guess it looks like that a bit, but like I wrote in my post, it'll be a theater. :) So leisure ingame. Probably will upload a commercial version to the Stex, though. You can read a bit about it here: http://www.bam.org/visit/buildings/harvey-lichtenstein-theater

With RICO players can assign any type of growable AI to buildings, so technically it's not really necessary to upload a separate version to Stex any longer - all it takes it turning it into a LC or HC building with that mod. But obviously it's up to you :)

Sometimes you get the feeling  to do some odd stuff: I did some optimalizations on the Candler Building lod, reduced it by 640 tris and the windows should look a lot sharper now.

Thanks for the likes and comments! Would love a Simtropolis collection of theaters. Maybe we can set one up?

And since I'm a bit sickly and got nothing else to do: here's the last piece of the puzzle: The Boston fire museum. Like you can see a very cute petite building. Sketchfab is here: https://sketchfab.com/models/eddab590524a420baf51da1ff2e95033 and the original is here: https://www.google.nl/maps/@42.3507013,-71.0489735,3a,75y,50.18h,97.04t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1suVldTwn_BhhJghV2eV5geQ!2e0!5s20110701T000000!7i13312!8i6656.

These look excellent. Were you going to put non-specialized versions on the STEX like you did with the others?

Yes, I will. The final stage is always a bit of painstakingly long process - putting props on there, then uploading them to the workshop - making descriptions, screenshots and logo's. Than the game crashes 5 or 6 times, because after 1 import it always crashes, together with all the loading times. Easily takes 3 hours. Eventually I will get to it.

Thank you. It's always appreciated. And of course, take your time. I don't want to be one of those people who tries to rush you.

And I feel your pain at least a little bit with the crashing. I don't 3d model, but I do sometimes bring an existing vanilla model into the editor to create my own version, and if I want to do more than one, I have to let it crash and wait for it to completely load again to do another.

I wish I know how to solve that crash to desktop issue. It's really annoying. I also still wish there was a way to put specialized commercial in among non-specialized so you wouldn't have to go through the hassle of making a second version to get around it.

Anyway, thanks again, and awesome work. You've become kind of like the go-to creator for theaters.

I know you're having issues with RICO, but if you manage to iron them out (I suspect it clashes with some mod rather than an 'internal' issue, because for many it works just fine), you can simply assign any building you want as Tourism/Leisure and plop them anywhere (thus removing the need to have to assign a specialization to an entire district).
That's what I did, and now I have these little gems as RICO Leisure buildings happily rubbing shoulders with normal commercial buildings.

Ok, then let me present my entertainment district: a mix of office, residential, generic commercial (some of Attercaps assets, the theaters you uploaded to STEX) and your latest uploads as RICO Leisure buildings.

Looks great! They mix quite well with Attercaps buildings.. Mind if I put them on the workshop?

And..... what is that white building with the copper roof in the center and the cake building in between Prospers buildings?

I know that the one with the copper roof is the Hotel Monaco.

The other one I don't know. I think it might be an RTGStream building, but @Judazzzwill have to tell you.

By the way, Judazzz, how do you find Roads United working for you? I've been debating grabbing it for a while. I like the yellow center lines.

Wow, that looks a lot better than on his own screenshots, he's not doing himself any favors with those screenshots on the workshop.

Yea, I like the building. The textures are a little blurry and could be better, but otherwise it's nice. I like it for my historic district.

Yeah, it seems selling their own assets with some proper screenshots isn't everyone's forte, so I always usually just try out assets that may be interesting (if it's a real world building I Google some images to get an idea what to expect), even if the screenshots are meh. Sometimes it pays off (like with Hotel Monaco), sometimes it doesn't. But it's barely an effort to snap a few half-way decent screenshots, so I don't understand why it seems such a hurdle to some: first rule of getting your content noticed is getting the 'marketing' right...

The cake building is the Art Deco Office Tower, initially uploaded by Koodoo25, later re-done by Shroomblaze/Matt Crux. I did make a few changes myself, because the lights were way too bright and pretty much drowned out all buildings nearby. But it's a lovely asset for sure: great shape, nice details and good texturing, and surprisingly light-weight.

@Darf - of course you can use the screenshots on your Workshop pages - let me know if you need some more, or of other buildings. It's the least I can do to repay you for all those amazing assets you've shared with us! :)

@Matthias King - I've switched to Roads United about two months ago (I think), and it hasn't given me any trouble. It is not fully feature-complete (some road types - like the vanilla grass/tree-lined 2-lane roads - miss textures, and it lacks some node textures), but it works well. It also lets you change asphalt color per road type, which is a great bonus feature (that's how I got my highways to look like light-grey concrete, while roads look like dark asphalt). If you're still use American Roads, I highly recommend switching (I created the American RoadSigns mod to preserve... uhhh... well... the American road signs :D). And if you don't use American Roads, I also highly recommend getting it. No American city is complete with Americanized road textures!

When you say it misses textures, and it lacks node textures, what does that mean exactly? Forgive someone who doesn't know much about the technical side of the game.

I think the vanilla roads I mentioned don't have Americanized textures, or perhaps the difference is very subtle (they do lack the yellow stripe).
Node textures are the textures used where streets intersect, so they basically are the visual 'glue' between road pieces: afaik. they are separate from the main texture. However, it could also be that the difference road colors I applied are responsible for it, in which case you can ignore that specific comment I made...
