Are you using the Cities Skylines plugin to export? That is weird. Did you use projection on the whole model? If so, try mapping some areas manually and see if it sticks. And also, check to make sure all the faces are orientated properly.

Ok,.. found the solution -.- im am just stupid :D

Forgot to rescale the blueprint I used to texture the model and therefore tried to import a model with a 648x475 resolution texture. Somehow, the editor loadout can still mange that resolution, the game cant.

Now it works, using the projection feature seems to work quite well actually, of course all the other maps are still missing, and there is a huge watermark, that needs to get edited out, but besides that, im quite happy with this.

I do have a question about LODs,.. is it okay to just let the game generate a LOD? or should I create one by myself, also is it nessesary that the tires on the LOD are also unconnected to the rest of the mesh, as it is in the normal model?

I would create one (just a box) and bake a really simple texture with Blender. No idea if tires are required, I don't think so.

Thank you, I will try this. I tested the auto generated LOD and im not happy with it, the difference is even on max settings very noticeable.

Something else, a Dutch 1x1 corner (I think its from Haarlem, but I looked at a lot of places in a relative short amount of time and I could have mixed up some places). Everything is finished, but without the row buildings there is no point in releasing it, but these rowbuildings will follow soon. I allready did a bit of research and it seems like most row buildings in the netherlands are between 6 and 8 meters wide, wich is fitting. I dont know yet, if I do 2x2 corners. I have to check how they behave in relation to the 1x1 corners. Besides that, the theme will probably be 1 by X (or X by 1 still dont know wats the right one) only.

for vanilla style support, you have to create one asset for every width (2x1, 3x1, 4x1)

Couldn't you have a style with just 1x buildings?  I know that works in the Themes mod.

Also - the 1x corner is lovely!  Low or Hi Res?

Very nice. Haarlem is a wonderful city. I still remember fondly all those Haarlem buidlings for SC4 by Haarlemmermeer.

Very Nice! I was really hoping you'd get round to doing some low density euro commercials, they're the one thing really missing from the game.

    Looking gorgeous! And very recognizable.

All that's missing is bicycles in front of every window.

Oh my, those are fantastic, by far the most true-to-life Dutch buildings I've seen for this game so far (not that the others I've seen aren't fine, but these are just on another level).

btw: if you really want to catch the essence of Dutch 19th/early 20th century low density residential architecture, maybe you could consider some 'schipperswoningen' as well - perfect for wall-to-wall 1x1 houses with expandable backyards. Houses like those and the ones you've created so far are the architectural bread and butter in my hometown.

I'd suggest a second 1x1 corner because that one building is going to appear on every corner, regular and recognizable.  The rest of the streets will have a nice random look to them, but as a result the corners an intersections will stick out like sore thumbs, four identical fronts facing each other, every time.

Thank you, yes I saw a lot of these, definitely gonna make a few, just have to figure out the scalings in comparison to the shown buildngs, as they are pretty big (most shown buildings are in reality 6 meters wide and I scaled them to 8. So everything is a bit off,..

Jup, gonna make some, these are just experimental shots.

Also: As it snowed today, I though about winter versions :D. I was unhappy with textures, so I tried modeling snow, had no time to check how it looks ingame though :

That promises to become another one of those amazing sets of yours. I won't probably be using the winter version (this game needs a function to swap asset sets according to city), but the summer set looks already awesome at this stage.

Regarding the proportions (all hail the mighty grid), yes, that looks a bit more like Dutch Revival than Dutch, but hey, that is perfect to let those buildings meet your Brooklyn set. Of course, windows down to the floor is typically Dutch and something I really like. I still remember the time I visited some friends who lived  in an apartment in an old house on the Spaarne river in Haarlem. I had a hard time sleeping, because I loved watching the ships go by the window, and the street in front of the house was so narrow you couldn't see it from most places in the room. It was such a beautiful place.

Awesome images. However, it looks like a season update will be either announced or released tomorrow, at least if I correctly interpret a cryptic announcement on the Paradox forums.

If your dream was allways to be a horse farmer, i might have something for you 8) (some screenshots are done befor I replaced the autogenerated LOD, thats why they have no legs in some shots :D):

This is a farming building theme, the horses are props (different hights and colormapped), the fences are "buildings", it contains five 4x4s, three 1x1s and three 1x1 corners. Maybe I need to reduce the amount of horses standing near the fence, what do you think?

I optimised the filesize to around 500 to 600kb for each lot.

If you place some addionally horses with beautification, pretty much any size is possible:
    ico5kx6.jpg

I took a horse from the 3d warehouse and reduced it to around 900 triangles. Somehow my LOD is tagged red,.. but I dont think 48 triangles and a 32² texture are problematic. Might release it later today.

For me personally, I like assets to be large as possible at times to save using building limits. For example. Say you have to place 4x4 wall pieces down a road 20 times. That's using up 20 of your building limits as parks. Where if you had longer say 10 tile length wall pieces you would only need to use 10 building limits saving a lot.

This is why I'm not a big fan of modular parks that have very tiny park pieces. They can use your limits up fast. Are you planning to release this as a single asset subscription?

This is not a park, its a functional farming theme. You dont need to place any pieces, they will grow. Since 4x4 is still the biggest growable lot possible, I cant make them any bigger.

The filesizes are very small (the fences using 128x64, their LODs are 64x32, maybe I reduce them even more), I intentionally planned to include them into one file, so yes, this will be a single asset file. Maybe its even possible to include all fences + the horse into the Building Theme file. That would be around 6mb for 11 lots and the prop.

A growable farming theme - that is genius! Do you plan to make different types of farms or just horse farms?

Edited to add: yeah, maybe reduce the amount of horses standing by the fences. They do look a little uniform. Other than that, this is just perfect.

Thanks, I think I do a few, maybe some with plants too. I fixed the horses standing by the fences, even though its not visible on steam, as I just took the old screenshots :D But ingame there should be way less horses standing in line :D

    Farming theme Studfarm is released!
