Build myself a turbo roundabout with the highway ramps. It wasn't easy. I made it as an asset however can't upload on steam. I wish steam would make it easier to upload to the workshop, what's wrong with a simple upload button.

^A turbo roundabout sounds interesting, but a) this one looks quite big and b) I'd like to see a more zoomed-in view of the thing

It is big. The current game doesn't allow to make connections between two routes when to close to eachother. I 'm sure some day one will make a mod to allow this.

I could probably make it smaller, however when I was building it I thought about using it as a same grade intersection between two 1+1 expressways in wich case broader truns give a better traffic flow.

A true turbo roundabout (at least as they occur in my country) disallows u-turns on the roundabout. Though this cannot be done in the standard C:SL it can be done using the traffic management mod (lane changer); however disallowing a certain turn does not always work ( regularly see cars making a right turn even if I disallow it).

You also want right-turn sliproads to further decrease the amount of traffic on the roundabout.

I see what you mean now. I could easely cut out the part that allows the U-turn (in only two directions) and still have a fully functional roundabout.

however standard turbo roundabouts( in The Netherlands, the home of the turbo roundabout at least) allow u-turning in 4 ways: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7491/16333189782_5b2ae7d185.jpg

A few hours later... Here you go. Made the center part more compact and more resembling a real life turbo roundabout. However with the slip roads, It's the same size or even bigger than the previous one.

If anyone can make this smaller, please do

I recently upgraded an old clover into a modern five-level stack. Excuse the number of pics, its a rather large setup and I wanted to capture all the angles. This is a bit similar to my last post but this time I reversed a set of main-lanes and frontage roads. Now the frontage roads are on level 2 instead of 1.

Great interchanges! I really suck at interchanges... (These examples were already posted on page 7)

Now that's what I'm talking about easily the best looking, functional interchange I've seen on this site..... absolutely gorgeous, but I know it took a great deal of patience to make it look that...

My first really decent intersection!

Roundabout%20Ladder%201_zpsuzvuy3ef.jpg

So it's like a roundabout overpass, except cars join the roundabout AFTER they leave it if you see what I mean. It meshes nicely with an alternate OWR grid pattern and hasn't given me problems yet. This one just shows you the joining roads in red, the roundabout in yellow and the exit roads in green. The roads that join with the grid transition into 2-lane OWRs to allow for the adjoining lane from the roundabout.

Looks useful, but why didn't you make it round? It would look smoother and more realistic.

Ok, things got a little out of hand here. Eventually going to change it to make it less unrealistic, but should work for now!

Some of those interchanges are just what? O_O

I try to keep mine simple. Roundabouts are wonderful things. That said... this one in particular got a bit difficult to squeeze in.

They both work. Somehow, I'm always sure I've gotten something wrong somewhere when I make these.

The current city I'm working on (if you ignore my negative balance, I took the unlimited money cheat off since I was making a profit and forgot that debt still accumulates XD)

qbCGR.jpg

Downloaded that particular interchange off the workshop, used it to join up two highways that diverge. Westwards it splits off and serves the north and south of the city proper before joining back up across the river. Eastwards it splits off to provide for the industrial and airport area and the bypass.

Sj3w.jpg

North of the city is served by two junctions. The first is this, which ends up on two separate one way roads eventually leading through the city all the way to the beachfront.

This is the middle of the three on the South joining the main civic area. Black Square being seen in the centre there.

One of the interchanges along the M12 motorway.

Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage

That third image looks pretty cool! Love the two interchanges - Sonnborner?

Though one of the accesses in the first image has a very sharp curve! Realistically, trucks wouldn't be able to turn there and it'd be very uncomfortable for cars. Some trucks can have a minimum turning radius of more than 20 meters. But hey, if it works...! :D

Yep. Thought I'd use two for all access junction.

Third one I'll probably redesign when I get around to that save again. Although the game allows it I don't like having them too tight, especially on a ramp. I know traffic accidents don't exist in this game but don't like the massive rockboat of a truck going round it. Made that bit more difficult because there is another interchange just out of shot to the left XD

Build myself a turbo roundabout with the highway ramps. It wasn't easy. I made it as an asset however can't upload on steam. I wish steam would make it easier to upload to the workshop, what's wrong with a simple upload button.

Should be able to upload it on the content manager. Find it under the assets section and there should be an upload to Workshop button. Wish there would be better standards on Steam though, the amount of stuff that don't have pictures or a thumbnail gets annoying and tedious to find. It's great to add proper mod support but some sort of standard would be great.

Development around the older stack.

Below are images of a  new stack on the other side of my city's loop.

This entire stretch of freeway between the two major interchanges is getting an upgrade. I'm going to add continuous frontage roads and braided entrance ramps, also the middle interchange will be demolished.

Good lord, there are some fantastic interchanges in this thread! Keep it coming people!

I've got several to show myself, but this one will be the first - a split cloverleaf (two halves) that allows regular traffic coming from southbound I-261 (The highway that loops) to fully intersect with I-161 (The highway that cuts across), while still utilizing I-261 as the region's primary freight harbor connection. In other words, freight trucks go into the south 261 loop to drop off their cargo, and can then choose between 161 and 261 (both of which are major city thoroughfares). Non-freight traffic from 261 can simply exit onto 161 in either direction.

Screenshot%202015-05-25%2018.52.46.png?r

The last step to fully integrating the harbor into the city is to build a railway station connection in the green area just north of I-161. Oh yeah, and the closest industry building is about 200 units (tiles?) away, so I have some development in my future ;)

I claim to practice architecture, but in reality architecture practices me.

I think one interchange would be enough. That looks a little bit like weaving to me. Otherwise it looks nice. Especially the last shot! :thumb:
