All I can recommend is getting your CD and replacing the SimCity.dat files on your HDD with ones off the CD.

Good point. If you have modified any of the .dat files per instructions for some mods, you have to replace with the originals, update, the do it again.

"Most realistic" is a very subjective term, as there's a lot of differing definitions as to just what is "realistic". From my perspective, I think the Medium capacity settings provide a good realistic balance, though that's merely in line with my personal views on realism.

Alright. Two questions about the GLR in avenue system. I have my GLR in avenue system set up in a city of about 650k. The GLR station in the avenue worked in my sandbox city (where I tested the NAM addon) but does not seem to be getting any usage on the tram itself. Vehicle traffic is flowing as normal through the avenue at all points.

My second question, is there are GLR in avenue/standard ground rail intersection puzzle piece? My city has several such junctions, and I did not see a puzzle piece that seemed to serve that purpose.

Hope that made sense.

Partial answer: Did you drag the EL tracks though the station after you installed it?

Most GLR-AVE stations use OWR, not El Rail. It's to avoid CTDs. And yes, there is a GLR crossing with the GLR-AVE pieces; Just press Tab enough times.

Considering the massive thing they are doing, I suggest one should wait and see. Waiting will fill.

The next release is planned to be a "Monolithic NAM", yes. Just about all the separate-download plugins, save for the DBE and a lot of the bridges, will be merged in. That includes the RealHighway (RHW), Network Widening Mod (NWM), Rail Addon Mod (RAM), Street Addon Mod (SAM), HIgh Speed Rail Project (HSRP), and Rural Roads Plugin (RuRP).

Of those, most of the developmental focus has been on the RHW, which will be dramatically improved from Version 5.0. We're still figuring out just what new stuff will be part of the other components--things have been slowed quite a bit by RL for many NAM Team members (myself included).

I have a quick question about the North American Texture mod.

I am thinking of installing this and just wanted to know if this is compatible with the most recent nam and rhw and if it will still be compatible once the new unified NAM is released. thanks

Short answer: Yes, and will be compatible with every successive version.

Is there any way to change the color of the roads and highways in the combined NAM/NWM/RHW set to gray instead of black? My default avenues and roads are gray and I can't seem to find the mod to revert them back to black asphalt. Down here in Texas the roads are generally more a concrete shade of gray than they are black asphalt so I'd prefer having everything gray. Let me know.

Or unless someone else decides to make something along those lines... They'd have to be third-party, technically.

Technically, you'd need three to four sets: One for the base networks and the NAM, one for NWM, and one for RHW (simply because not everyone uses all three at once), and that equates to thousands of textures.

Isn't GIMP/Photoshop fun?!! How about sky-blue-pink with orange polka dots?

What's Photoshop? (I use Inkscape.)

Getting back on topic,... Texture editing also requires knowing what textures to modify, and that can't be done without at least looking at the DATs for the original textures (NWM, RHW, defaults) for hours. Yes, there are patterns.

It is doubtlessly a labour of love that must be undertaken by the young and keen. When I retired from programming, I quickly lost all interest in that level of detail.

I have inkscape (its on the distro) but I haven't made any approach to it because GIMP usually does what I need.

I am having an issue with the implemented TuLEP starter and transition pieces showing up, along with others if there are any.

The only usable TuLEP interface is the turn lane pieces, everything else isn't there.

Please help!

A good way to ensure your TuLEPs are working and connected to your network is to use your road networks to create the intersection first.

Then, plop the TuLEP pieces you want over your road networks in the way you want. That's how I do it.

Alright then I must be missing something else, this is probably the right place to ask since I have seen these pieces used in cooperation with the TuLEP pieces.

There are starter pieces for regular 2 lane roads with a turn lane median and 4 lane avenues with a turn lane median and so on, do you know where I can find these? Sorry for bugging everyone I just picked up SimCity 4 after hearing news of the new game coming out and am getting ready!

[EDIT]: Nevermind, NWM (Network Widening Mod) I found it. Thank you all for helping me anyway! Look out for a CJ by me! :)
