Wait for a few in-game months, and then you may see the effect...

NAM elevated commuter rail stations

Do they exist? Either they are part of the NAM package and I have failed to install them correctly or I just cannot find any on STEX.

I really think that NAM is a brilliant addition to SC4 but my lack of NAM stations is holding me back....

There are a few scattered about on Japanese SC4 sites, and I know SFBT has made one or two of them (look for them on the STEX and LEX)

There are also at least a couple of excellent Chicago-style el rail over road stations made by ardecila on the LEX. They should be accessible through his profile.

I love using the Nam modification but i have one problem. How you make an intersection with two nam roads like the dashed avenue or just the nam pieces with regular pieces? I have only NAM new version, the old version and RHW. Just want to know how to make intersections and how do you make the small tuning lanes where you turn onto a different road on your right?

If I'm understanding you correctly. you're asking about the turning lanes at intersections? If so, did you select the install options for Turning Lanes? There are three: Roads, Avenues, and Extension.

And not sure what you meant by this...

...I have only NAM new version, the old version and RHW...

Do you have more than one NAM version installed? That is not recommended and could lead to problems.

Also, this will be moved to the NAM thread...

No, but how do you intersect the roads? Like a 2 lane road with the space inbetween goes through a regular road or any road. How do I make them intersect, because it won't if you just try to put the road over the road.

Do you mean intersecting two AVE-2 networks from the NWM? I don't think it's possible yet. Apparently it can!

    Are you talking about these...

    Intersections.jpg

They should form when you drag the the roads across each other. If they don't you may have incorrectly installed NAM.

    Or do you mean these...

    Intersections3.jpg

To get these roads, you'll need the Network Widening Mod (NWM), an addon to the NAM. They should just drag over each other after placing the starter piece.

Is there a NAM tool that allows a road to intersect an avenue without going all the way across the avenue?

You should be able to do that without the NAM.

If you're talking Roads, just drag the road away from the avenue from one side, and then do the same from the other.

If you're talking Streets, you'll need to drag a short one-tile section of Road then drag a Street from that. For some reason Streets are automatically connected across an Avenue.

@tomass129: That could be a problem with not having the LHD Plugin on an LHD game (if you drive on the left) or having the LHD Plugin on an RHD game (if you drive on the right).

You appear to be in LHD, so you'll have to re-run the NAM Installer, but make sure you select the LHD Plugin. See if that works.

...but somehow the Turning lanes is in the opposite direction...

Something odd is happening in your game... The images in your previous post seems to indicate you have a left-hand drive game. However, your most recent shows a right-and drive game. Simply changing NAM installations will not affect that. Have you tried changing driving sides by altering the game's registry files at the same time re-installing NAM? Your most recent image indicates that you have a right-hand game but have left-hand NAM (or perhaps both) - the opposite from above... Did you remove the old NAM files before re-installing? Curious situation... Without any plugins, what side do vehicles drive in your game?

If you installed NAM again with a previous NAM version in the Plugins, that could be causing your problem. Try installing in a totally empty Plugins folder. Plus, you won't need to get the Essentials download. It currently contains the same in the current NAM version.

Also, you do have SC4 Deluxe or Rush Hour? NAM requires one or the other.

A week(or so) ago, I re-installed SimCity 4 in English(It used to be in Norwegian, which was hard to understand for some dude connecting to my computer with TeamViewer), nothing was deleted from the plugins, regions and stuff folder, but then I started SC4 to find the NAM being non-functional! The menu items are still there, but I can't place any of them! I even tried reinstalling the NAM, this time I installed the left-hand version... BUT! It still don't work!

    Here's a screenshot:

    namfailed.png

(Note: I distorted the city name.)

(Also note: I had to draw a cursor because Print Screen doesn't include the cursor)

(Also note: I have Deluxe Edition)

The only thing that causes the red arrow bug is the presence of an outdated RUL controller file that does not contain a definition for the menu icon you're trying to use. From the looks of it, it is loading after your NAM installation and preventing the NAM from working.

In your particular case, MrJolteon, it appears that the Road Overpasses button isn't working. Given that was one of the first features added to the NAM, the culprit plugin is likely something predating the NAM, such as one of the pre-NAM "transit bugfixes" or "transit supermodd" files from 2003-2004. You'll need to find and remove that file. I'd also recommend trying to empty your Plugins folder entirely except for the NAM and see if that fixes things.

See FAQ Item #1 on the NAM FAQ for more details on the red arrow bug.

@Zulu2065 Hey I have the exact same problem, I am unable to make an intersection as well as drag the road to make the intersection. I have recently installed all the mods listed on the publishers website to fix this but nothing seems to work. How did you fix this?

Are you talking about the NWM roads? Are you able to plop the starter pieces? What happens when you do drag the roads over each other?

Are you trying to drag from both sides. Some have double-sided drag capability, some only drag from one side. And are you using the Road and/or One-Way tool? Some use roads and some use one-ways.

Another question... Is this the first time you have installed NAM and any of its addons?

no this isn't my first time using add-ons, i've used over 100 and they all have worked great, but i came across this one and i tried to get it to work but i just can't. I have tried to drag all directions: up, down, left and right but nothing seems to work. I got all the add-ons listed on the website you made and i just don't know what to do.

Well, I'm not sure, but you possibly might have conflicting files or you might be trying the wrong pieces. You did download both of these files (Link) and (Link)

If so, are you selecting the road menu icon of the NWM road with the small white arrow on it? That's the correct one. Perhaps you are selecting something else...?

If all that is good, I would suggest clearing all plugins from the Plugins folder (just rename the Plugins folder and create a new empty one), reinstall only NAM and NWM and see if it works.

The only thing NWM needs is NAM, and NAM does not require anything. Well...

That reminds me... Do you have an updated version of Deluxe or Rush Hour? I was assuming you did since you didn't say anything wasn't working. These do require that. They won't run on regular SimCity 4.
