The whole hologram bit has absolutely nothing to do with the notion that this world is actually most probably a simulation program. There are other scientific experiments that are looking after this however. Honestly the idea that we are actually a simulation isn't all that bothersome to me. It doesn't change anything really. Steak will still taste delicious, the speed of light will still remain constant and getting punched in the face still hurts. simulation or not. 

 

You might be more bothered with the notion that you don't really have free will whatsoever. At least, thats a notion that would be most bothersome to our culture in general.

I don't like the idea of us being a simulation at all, and I don't believe in it (yet I'm still scared by it). I'm a religious person (so I won't delve into those topics), so I don't believe that we are a complex computer simulation.

Hmm yes, she does create a system to contain the inevitable instability of the system on which the Matrix is based. But how does that relate to her cookies? I mean, I always thought her cookies were just cookies, not special programs that are disguised as cookies.

Since he was deliberately chosen by the Matrix to be the One he would have had innate special powers, but they were deactivated when Neo was still enslaved in the Matrix. Consider that hours after taking the Oracle's cookie, Neo was able to use his One powers in a remarkably short period of time. I think the cookie activated Neo's dormant powers/abilities within the Matrix.

No but he only becomes the One after agent Smith shoots and kills him. Before that he gets greater speed and mobility, sure, but he is nothing special yet at that point. And the oracle also tells him he will be the One "maybe in a next life", which is what happens. 

 

I dont think its a waste of scientific resources to look for this. I mean, it would help us find the fundamental nature of reality, which has dozens of important implications and possibly applications in other fields of science.

Anyways, even if it turns out that the scientists investigating this are wrong, at least we'll have marked off one theory on the something-or-other of the universe.
