Is there somewhere on Simptroplis where I can find a history of my downloads from the site?  I thought I've seen it before a long time ago but I'm not having any luck... Any ideas?

I think if you hover your mouse over the STEX exchange button, it should bring a drop down menu and 'download history' should be there.

Yep, find it here.

Mine isn't very big though. I think data may have been lost at some point.

Just checked mine, several pages worth of downloads are gone. I guess an update or something deleted the history.

Having watched your Building a city from scratch series (thanks so much for all your hard work on that BTW), I'm guessing if your list isn't pages long then somethings amiss

Yeah, something got messed up with the download history page. It's only showing stuff I've downloaded from the STEX over the past month or so, when in reality I've downloaded a lot of other stuff off of the STEX since I started playing SC4 again this past February. The download history page seems to have gotten "wiped" recently, which is kinda annoying.

I can only see the last three months of history.  The question is whether this is a display problem or is this all that is kept?

Sorry to bother you all, but is this function still available? I've lost a ton of plugins due to hard drive failure and I need to redownload them now.. It was months worth of downloads :(

    Hiya, @UrbanField.

I apologize for the delay replying. While I do follow this forum and get notified of new topics, the silly software doesn't beep me for replies to older threads I've not followed. Ofc, it's perfectly fine to bump an old topic when the new post is relevant (as you've done). It's just it's slipped by all of us cause of no one getting notified.

CB has looked into it and it appears to be a function of 3.4.x series of the site software. Version 4.0 stripped out a lot of useful features and this seems to be one of them.

So, in short, no this isn't an available option. The only history of downloads is now per file under the Who Downloaded This linky.

(* Translated by Google Translate v12.86)

Yes, in this case there is a difference between Simtropolis and Devotion, on Devotion each user has his own history of downloading files and files for downloading in the future. But we must face reality - today they are two different fields - two different worlds ...  Quiet fading of Devoition (2-5 people a day) and still live work by Simtropolis (thanks to Corina and CB !!! - maybe without these people it would also be half a corpse ..} I think that 80% of the objects from Simtropolis could not appear on Devotion, because Site policies go in very different directions ... this explains the different numbers of users, files and statistics. My advice for Simtropolis's clients - Watch your downloads yourself - and don't ask Admins for privileges !!!

The statistics of registered users and the number of files and their quality on these sites differ significantly. Let's enjoy each of these sites. Let's not put pressure on the authors of these sites. Let's remember - Simtropolis (Dirk) and Devotion (Jeronij) are all that still live in the SC4 world. Nothing else and nothing like this will happen !!! Let's save it !!

PS. Thank you again @CorinaMarie@Cyclone Boom and @Tarkus !!!

It is hard and nervous work - good luck to you friends !!!

Would the history function not be recoverable by writing a script to go thru the per-file site records or would this use a stupid amount of server resources on implementation?

Alas no, this isn't technically feasible.

The download logs have previously been pruned to 30 days per file category. We have (as of the other day) now increased this to 1 year for all files, which means the "Who Downloaded" lists will show the data for a yearly rolling basis. Per month for all categories, these logs were consuming about 50 MB in the database, and so with this the expectation is it'll be somewhat around 600 MB overall, and there might even be scope for increasing this further too. In terms of a download history per user though, it does of course depend on the data existing in the first place. So this really is the first step for keeping these logs for a longer duration as the site will now do.

With the download history function only available per file, this is the only place on the front end where the data is currently visible. Our hope is in future when we get around to upgrading the board software, the feature might be available again looking ahead. Maybe even an addon from the Invision Marketplace could do the job.
