I have a question! (Not that this is news to anyone. I always have them) I was wondering, since we cannot do GLR on an avenue puzzle piece, would it be possible to texture one of the GLR Ped Mall tiles to look like a road? Then, that piece could be plopped between 2 one-way roads to create a somewhat realistic looking GLR Avenue. I don't know if this has been suggested or not yet, and if it has disregard this request. If not though, I think it would be a great add-on to the next NAM, or even a standalone in the STEX. It would only really require a couple pieces, however I don't know how hard that would all be to retexture for corners, crosses, T and Y and W and Multi crossings etc. I suppose I could even be happy with a simple straight piece. Better than nothing, eh?

Easy. Simply replace the base texture, import the road texture, and your done.

I wanna request a highway/road and a highway/ave cloverleaf where the highway runs over the road/ave and works like a ramp, but looks like a highway cloverleaf... if that's possible...

I find that highly impacticle and quite useless. If you really have that kind of space in your city, just plop a regular cloverleaf and connect avenues to either side of the ground part. It will temporarily change to highway, but you'll get the same outcome. Also, the point of a cloverleaf is to allow for quick transition between two highways without having traffic stop. By merging onto an avenue, you must stop the traffic otherwise you'll have a really dangerous situation.

*sigh* Just noticed your not some lame $%&^! whos just here to throw in some useless change. But I still stick to what I said... I find it impracticle.

i agree with jplumbley, it has been said before, you always respond as if you were the boss, as if you can control everything.

no-one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, not saying jplumbley has made a mistake, i do make mistakes, a lot of them. even you do, but am complaining? only now, because im tired of it. but, let people say their things, are you a moderator? is everything reqeusted here made? i dont think so. is someone requesting you to make someting? no, no-one does that here, it is NAM-requests, not LP-requests.

maybe i went a little to far, but im really tired of it

request: recently, dragonanime uploaded these https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=16215

can someone make this into a working underpass, as is done with NDEX freeway-subway converter.

i think, although im not sure, that to make it into underpasses you would have to simply turn them into a subway station with a parking.

LP, I am sure you think it is impractical and otherwise worthless to connect cloverleafs and such to roads, however for people who are trying to create realstic cities, they are a necesity. Here in Las Vegas, for example, a few exits are cloverleaf or par-clo avenue over highway. It alleviates traffic backup onto the freeway in times of major traffic. Besides that, if something is impractical, then it won't be done. We don't need you pissing and moaning about how much the idea sucks. Finally....If replacing a texture is so easy for you, then why don't you do that road thing for me. It's pretty hard to do, especially for people that are just starting out with iLive and Darkmatters tools

Edit: I have been working on a road texture for the ped Mall GLR all day, and I have decided I am not artistic enough. However, if someone were to do a texture for me, I could add it on myself and would be much obliged!

LP I was thinking about one of your requests the 2 way avenue. And I'm pretty sure if I knew how to modd and all that stuff I would be able to make it. I can easily texture that stuff. I'm pretty good at photo shop.

Also, I was wondering if anybody knew if they had made a ploppable One Way Elevated HWY piece to a One Way Ground HWY piece

because you can't do anything with one way elevated hwys at the ends.

That would be nice, but this is the NAM. No lots are put into the NAM, it's some obscure rule of theirs, but maybe post it somewhere in this forum? It's more likely to be answered there.

Two requests:

+GLR _rural_ left/right turning puzzle pieces: just like the GLR left/right turning puzzle pieces, but minus the concrete.

+Elevated avenue left/right turning puzzle pieces: having a smooth transition between on-axis and diagonal elevated avenues would be nice.

That said, thanks NAM Team. I appreciate your work, and your patience with us users is superhuman. 4.gif

in the next nam release they should have a large roundabout, suited for avenue. so it would be 4x4 size

I'd like to see a small divider support for overpasses over avenues if possible. Here's a 'shopped picture to demonstrate what I want, just the small pillar in the center.

I know I have asked this before, but I think it was in a different forum and it was never really answered. Is there any way that we could change one of the GLR on Ped Mall tiles (Not cobblestone) to have a road texture? I attempted this, but the only program I have is MSPaint, and I am in no way artistic even if I had another program. I think it would be a great addon for those of us who want light rail in our medians, and still want it to look like a normal road. I don't care if it acts like a road, I just want it mostly for eye candy, and GLR TE for UDI. It is very common in many cities, I have noticed, and I would really appreciate it if I could add this into my cities.

Edit...I Found the post above me. It wasn't in another forum. However, I still maintain that it wasnt very well answered, and that I will never get it, due to lack of artistic abilities. If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would be much obliged. Maybe there is a way to do it where I don't have to paint my own texture? Any help is appreciated.

I really like NAM. I don't like having to lay down GLR tracks per tile. I want a drag type of a thing like railroads

the NAM team is working on draggable GLR, but don't hold your breath. it probably wont make it into the next NAM, because the draggable part is still in it's infancy.

So, once we get draggable GLR, is this the same as instating a new trasnit network? Or am I just a misguided $%&^!?

No, they'd still be elevated rail tiles that merely appear to be on the ground, just like the current GLR. A new transit network would have independently modifiable speed and capacity. GLR, even draggable GLR, will always share the same speed & capacity values as elevated rail.

I keep hearing people say we can't add new transit methods, yet in theory couldn't you completely change a transit system from rail to road and list it on the menus as something seperate??? Isn't that the same as a new one???

but what good will that do? no more rail network! that kind of mod appeals to such a little group of people that it's not a project the NAM team will undertake.
