I GET THEM TOO! and always when i hover over one-way roads. bah. the trick is to scroll in and out at the exact moment the visual driver stops. then you MIGHT just get it to work nicely at the optimum scroll view. lol, if you get what i mean. to the last image post, thats deconstructivism right there!

Thanks the00guvna! Cool railyard in the works and good use of the victorian depot Thanks heitomat! I blv they were Oppie's. I downloaded them long ago so I don't remember exactly where I downloaded them from. Here's one site tho... http://www.simphoni.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=11048 Also, I changed the ones in game to koploper instead cos they really look amazing turning on the curves and they also remind me of Sydney trains. I still use Oppie's freight trains tho, and I have a BNSF change for my steam train. The whistle totally doesn't match tho Are you going to have a CJ soon? I like you Bergen tram pics muchly. Maybe you could make NSB trains or even the IORE And bernhard thats just awesome!!! Ditto heitomat and it looks like it could well fit in MiWuLa! Great job wit hthe CJ

Thanks heitomat! Great news! I was trying to find the RAM development on simtropolis but couldn't find it. Apparently its on SC4D lol. PS love your rails on the show your thread

Hi! Firstly, I apologise if I am double posting as I have put some of this on the Development Forum honestly not realising it wasn't for requests. 1) High way Roundabout Interchange This is an example of the roundabout in Leura, Australia. I have gotten as far as the bottom design, but its with avenue and not highway. the transition from the avenues to one way roads is also not optimal, considering that there will be a traffic light. Hmm I wonder if there is a slip road for that... Also, it should ideally be a flat highway not having to go in a tunnel, ie. instead of the highway sloping down, it should be the one way road exits sloping up. (PS I also realise the avenue roundabout is perfect for this Even if we need to connect a road instead of an avenue to the roundabout, we can always use a common avenue to road transition. So it'll be a timesaver if you could incorporate that) 2) Quadruple Heavy Rail Smooth Curve I am kinda certain this has been requested before, but I didnt notice it on the first page of this forum. We have a double track heavy rail smooth curve but a quad track version would save the area in the middle as you can see here. Also, stretching the idea, we could possibly look to 6 track or even 8 track curve in the future. 3) Smooth Curve Heavy Rail Size Reduction Could we reduce the size from 7x3 to 6x3 tiles. It would save a lot of space and make the city look more condensed and hence, realistic. It would also be equal to the original smooth curve and be similar to the current smooth curve heavy rail viaduct track. 4) Catenary for the 6x3 Heavy Rail Viaduct Smooth Curve This seems to be missing the automatic overhead wires. I was told that it was due to as yet non-existant T21 files. THANKS IN ADVANCE for listening, much less considering these Greatly appreciated.

Hi again! Might be a bit out of the topic, but here's a bit of Greater Saint Francis (a.k.a San Francisco by the large historical community of the Latin American migrants) and Mansfield City as a part of it, so you can understand the rail network related to my previous post. And a view of the urban areas DONE Now here's pictures from an 8 NEWS Helicopter of a rail accident near Acacia Cliffs, a town along the Saint Francis Peninsula bordering the Pacific Ocean. The derailment of the Southern Darling Matilda along the steep South Coast Line, running along the Acacia Cliffs, caused the new Seamens locomotive and old Buddy carriages to jacknife and fall down the cliffside onto the Great South Coast Road. Tragically, the accident claimed the lives of 9 Sims, including 59 year old driver Franklyn Sim McFrancis, and injured 42 others. Fingers have been pointed at the Rail Authorities for lack of maintenance, but they in turn blamed recent rains causing landslides. Families are mourning the loss of loved Sims in a joint SimWake, while critiques are calling for new articulated carriages to be introduced. These proven carriages with Jacob's bogies would undoubtedly have saved more lives, according to the critiques arguments. Thats it for now! Cheers.

Hi all! Great pics everyone! I am loving the rail tracks. I really owe it to all the modders, NAM and STR gods (such as D Edgren) too. Without their work, I'd undoubtedly be limited to the crooked 45deg curve rails and old stations with short 3 tile platform length, inter alia :S Rail is just the best thing about Simcity. Anyone agree? @Heitomat, I LOVE YOUR RAILS SO MUCH! They're so realistic to the point that the STR spur track is unelectrified and there is a gate to the entrance. Amazing! Awesome Here's my humble contribution to this thread. Its from my city Mansfield, part of the Greater Saint Francis Area. I owe it to Great Sydney, Australia, for inspiring me with the rail layout of a loop instead of termini. Sadly, you can't see many of the suburban/long distance trains in this picture due to TRACKWORK on a weekend, if you know what I mean, LOL. 1) Mansfield Central, where about 10 lines feed in from all 4 cardinal directions and more! Mansfield Central curently has 8 platforms for the main lines, including the City Circle Line, the Oakland Lines (coming across the Bay Bridges in neighbouring Tweeds Head), and 4 for the Airport Express. Many Subway lines that feed into the CBD also pass through or terminate at Mansfield Central. The presence of a City Loop enables trains to follow the tracks back and for this station not to waste space as a terminus otherwise. Owing to this, many other long distance trains terminate at 2 other stations on the City Loop (suburban trains go around the City Loop or feed into other lines and change their service). You can see that sound planning by Mansfield City Rail (not *****ty Rail as loving Manxfeldman call it) Authority and the Lord Mayor William Brown has prevented congestion on the tracks, that would otherwise be imminent 2) Concord Station, located on the main eastern corridor feeding out of Mansfield Central with 4 platforms on non-express lines. Hence, not all trains, including the City Circle, make a call here. Passenger interchange is permitted with the Concord upper level platforms just above the tunnel portals lying on the Southern Bypass line that feeds into Concord Triangle on the left. Notice that the first spur line branching off on the left is the Aiport Express Line. This is prior to recent renovations to move the airport line to Chatswood Station (to permit interchange) just out of the picture on the left. 3) Chatswood Station is another important one. This is prior to reconstruction of the Concord Triangle on the right and the tracks within to bring the aiport line into Chatswood Station itself, as opposed to going direct to the Airport from Mansfield Central. Extra capacity on the line and many passengers sounding the need to interchange from Beechworth and Southern Lines, as well as the City Circle Line have brought the authorities to use the large budget surplus to fund this project. Part of this project will also involve adding another branch from the main line into Chatswood Station, as one branch was not sufficient too feed the City Circle and other lines into Mansfield Central. Chatswood Station will following be rebranded as Chatswood Interchange to tie in with the opening of a new EastFields Shopping Mall in the vicinity. P.S. You can sort of make out that Mansfield International Airport is way on the left side of the small map (cardinal north), and that the aiport express tracks go under the CBD to the Airport direct without stopping at any station. 4) Strathfield Station, on the Main Western and Northwestern Lines. This is in Strathfield town just east (map up) from the Concord Triangle. This is the farthest large (6 or more platforms) out from Mansfield Central. Notice that the original 1850s station facade was kept to maintain the heritage whereas many of the platforms actually date from the 1950s, as can be seen from their relatively modern yet utilitarian design. 5) Bankstown Station, on the Northwestern Line bordering the Enfield Yards just northeast of Strathfield Station. What was once a large yard serving a Coal Power Station Complex (just near the top track of the yard) is now relatively disused but kept for stabling freight trains transporting coal from mines to the Power Stations in neighbouring cities (Mansfield has no power stations, owing it to being a major Capital City). These freight trains would have to wait for off-peak hours before travelling through Mansfield lines, due the business of the suburban network. Bankstown still acts as a busy junction for trains to northeast and to occassionally serve the new spaceport just out on the right. 6) Airport Station, 1 of the 2 termini and only 2 stations that make up the Airport Express Line. Reconstruction of the line is currently underway to serve (rail) passenger needs as well as to tie in with the extensive upgrading of Mansfield International Airport that is almost over capacity. 7) Part of the City Circle and CBD, post reconstruction of Airport Express tracks and Chatswood Station. Notice Concord Station and Concord Triangle on the top (cardinal south), and Mansfield Central on the top right. You can also see the rework to the tracks; the Airport Express line is no longer underground (now in use for Subway Lines) and it passes through Chatswood Station. Chatswood station also gains an additional branch line to feed into the City Circle and into Mansfield Central. Much of the budget was put in to redesign and accomodate for the residential areas as well. Another View of this important part of the Mansfield Suburban Network, post Chatswood and Airport Express Reconstruction. All of the stations visited can be seen here. Imagine the rest of the City Loop lines (including the City Circle lines) making a full circle to the right of the picture. 9) The new Airport Express Viaduct leading out from Chatswood Interchange, with the Bligh Station on the City Circle. After outcries from heritage groups and the Greenlings, a decision was taken to have the new viaduct not in modern concrete and steel appearance but in the historic brick masonry (but with new reinforced design). This matches in with the heritage of the rest of the network. 10) The newly-rebuilt West Bligh Station that serves the City Circle (you can see going under Slurry Hills) as well as the other lines branching out of the City Loop (that branches out to the bottom left). The newly-rebuilt Airport Express Line can also be seen here. Provision has been made for a new station to be built on the viaduct above the station to interchange with the Airport Express Line, if expansion is required. 11) Another part of the City Loop, on the other side of Mansfield Central. The top set of tracks is 1 of 2 sets that make up the Oakland Main Line going out to the other Capital Cities in Saint Francis. The 4 tracks heading down feed into the City Loop, City Circle and Main North Line. The next station to the bottom is the other main station in the City Loop, aside from Chatswood Interchange and Mansfield Central. Hope you guys enjoyed! And keep YOUR rails coming! Cheers, Stingstingsting PS Does anyone know whats happening with the HSR mod? I made a whole system out of it but its kinda useless as no passengers are using its. Sad

Hi oh great NAM team. I am indebted to your great work May I suggest a few things related to RAIL; 1) The mod for the electric wires that automatically appear on tracks seems to be missing from the new 6x3 tile smooth curve rail viaduct that comes with the latest NAM release. Maybe we could have that? Otherwise, its been a very very useful addition to the NAM might I say 2) We've had a double track smooth curve rail (i.e. 7x3). Could we make that into a 6x3 instead? That would free up a lot of space in cities and make it look denser. 3) With that same double track curve, is it possible to make a quadruple track curve too, or even sextuple curves? It would certainly makes metropolis look more realistic with more lines and denser tracks feeding into 1 corridor heading to a central station. Currently you can put 4 tracks together from a straight to a curve but you can't use 2 smooth curves for that transition. Sorry for so many suggestions. I have many ideas but I have no idea how at all to mod or BAT P.S. I have attached photos to better describe what I mean. I'm not sure if its uploaded though. Hope you guys understand what I mean.

Well there's a simple bypass, the tunnel! After all, you can't rly see transport going through a tunnel. All you have to sacrifice is the instant nature of teleportation. LOL
