The "Wish-This-DLC-Would-Come-Out" Topic

Hiii i thought: lets make a topic where we can discuss about future DLC's that we hope they gon release.

Dont forget, this is not a topic to complain about bug fixes or whatever.

So here it is, bring it on.

My idea: seasons, gives your city so much more life with snow, rain, heat whatever. They can add more weather disasters like huricane, tsunami or whatever.

The disasters idea is a good one. I just wish they would get rid of the unrealistic ones (zombie attack, rampaging lizard, UFO) :)

Transportation DLC:

- Subways

- International Airport within city (I see international airports in cities all the time)

- Other

But first, we'd need bigger maps :D

Good idea on the seasons. It would be pretty cool to have droughts during summer or road closures during winter due to snow.

Mainly though, bigger maps and subways.

I know right, that would add more unique things to some part of the game and I think it would look awesome to see the city covered with snow or see yachts and jetski's at the beach during summer

YES @ the transporation DLC and i agree with the unrealistic ones, but i do like the UFO tho :-P zombie attack is just weird and the lizard is annoying as hell.

    Farms

New/bigger transport options (bigger train stations, bigger ferry docks, taxi stands, subways, helicopter pad, etc...)

More regions (with varied map sizes, including some bigger of course)

Various recreation facilities (marina, beach, shopping mall....)

I want them to release something to make use of the area surrounding your city in the big blank space that is the region.

Originally I thought farms would be a good way of filling the space but the more I think about it you could have it so that you develop suburbs in the space but have no direct control over road layout etc.

As an example you build a stretch of road right up to the edge of the map and it gives you the connect to region prompt that you used to get in SC4. If you say yes then you are given the choice of what you want to build on the end of the road residential suburb, agricultural/industrial area or commercial hub with shopping centres etc.

My thought would be to make this a sort of "minor" work that benefits only your city by providing a big lift in the respective RCI requirements for the given category.

My idea was to have these work as modules for your city like an ambulance bay for the hospital. It would allow you a greater sense of customisation of the city tile without ever being able to build outside the box. You could then focus on the specialisation of the city you are working on and getting that ticking over.

I wish they would allow us to annex the land surrounding our cities. I have a few cities that I just need more land on, but I don't want to start over completely.

I would love to see a train station that is more work-expandable. Like. That you can actually controll different kind of trains, upgrade to bigger stations with even subway or tram addons and so on.

I would also love one way roads, though think this will already be added in a patch. I would also like subways (like in cities XL). And a heliport for choppers other then those of emergency services.

That's what I like added with the transport section. A special DLC for that. I would pay 10 euro for that, if I could finally use paypal again.

    Agriculture specialization (so much potential)

I would buy that.  With such small city sizes I'm surprised there isn't more to keep you that way.

I like the idea of having a choice between going green or going industrial.  Industrial would be crammed into warehouse and greenhouse facilities(taking up less space) while Green would enjoy open pastures and fields (taking up more space).  Going the Industrial route would make you more money quicker but you'd risk disease outbreaks and a protesting educated populace.  Green would take up the most space but you'd be offering premium priced goods (but less quantity) and wouldn't have to worry about protests and diseases.

To start this specialization, you'd plop a farmer's market which can be upgraded to a Grocery Store and then last, a warehouse superstore.  They'd unlock things like larger fields, GMO Plant, bigger facilities, Marketing building(to sway your public either way) etc.

It would be really cool to have a beach resort dlc...they already have the tourism in place so all they would need to do is design new beach hotels from like Eco hotels to high end beach bungalows or like those huge beach resorts in Mexico or more lik Miami

What about highway exits that you can upgrade to allow more lanes to exit and enter the city?

It doesn't make sense to me that there are effectively 2 lanes in and out of three lane roads in your city.

I think some useful ones would be-

    -Building customization

    -More city specializations

-More great works (farm, megamall, water reservoir)

-Ordinances (like Simcity Deluxe) (i think this would be really cool)

-BIGGER MAPS (not only square=shaped but more natural looking)

-Filling up the space between cities (country dirt roads and small farmhouses or holiday houses.

-More RCI options (for example, Tourism Commercial would be souvenir shops, museums)

    -Zoo

-More transportation (subway, monorail, double-decker bus, helicopter)

-More types of cars (you see the same car model every 5 cars)

    -One-way roads

    -Wider roads

-Street-side parking allowed on some low-density roads (to make it look more realistic)

-Law (have a courthouse that you can build in the government menu)

-Road editing (assign places for u-turns, remove traffic lights)

    -More office buildings

-More rides and stuff for the amusement park DLC (there are only like 8 rides so it gets boring after 20 minutes of gameplay

    -Intersections for tunnels (update 7)

    -An underground layer view

These aren't really 'DLCs' but they are some things I'd like to see in future updates/patches.

Really.  The beaches in this game are so ugly - so ugly not a one of my city's 90,000 residents want to go sunning or swimming.

I would like to see ordinances return, it was nice to be able to tweak the city a bit with them.  Could even bring them up to modern times, a Legalize Marijuana ordinance, which reduces violent crime but increases the number of people late for work ;)

Yeah farms would be cool too. You build a farm and add tomatos or whatever lol loves it.

Agreed! How about using all that open space between "cities" for this type of specialization? :ohyes:

BTW, I hate paying for DLC when most of the content mentioned above so far should have already been included in the original game! Basically, all the stuff we could do in SC4 should have already been included in SimCity 2013. e.g. subways, ordinances, rewards (zoos, golf courses, museums, military bases, etc.)

For DLC releases, they should focus on content that adds more VARIETY (like seasons, more specializations, city styles, etc.), not sell us what should have already been included!

I hope they make a DLC with:

    - Highways/freeways

    - Tiles sizes, small, medium, large maps like sc4 have that they connect to each other

    - Turn Lanes, more realistic roads, streets, and avenues

    - More Landmarks, and more building options, like sunken roads/highways

    - More housing options

    - Stuff that sc4 had that would make it more real, because it's not a grid city builder anymore

Basically, all the features sc4 has, because simcity 2013 should had been what sc4 had, and to me, you can't build a city without a freeway or highway going through it, plus a big downtown for an urban area :)

YES! This just gave rise to what I think is MY best idea yet.  Allowing expansion of the city border at a HUGE cost, like MULTI-MILLIONS of dollars to expand and only in a single direction.  You could expand the city border and it could give you a price whereby (for instance) expanding ONE direction 50% of the current city size would cost something like $5,000,000.  It would force you to succeed with the current city plot before being able to expand (though I'm sure not everyone would want it to work that way).  Anyone want to expand further on this?  If we design the feature for them maybe we'll get it (Ever).

I would like to see ordinances return, it was nice to be able to tweak the city a bit with them.  Could even bring them up to modern times, a Legalize Marijuana ordinance, which reduces violent crime but increases the number of people late for work ;)

Nice one!!!  Yeah, ordinances were cool...

And finally - yes, MORE STADIUM TYPES would be awesome.

Open air Stadium so you can see the inside change between Football and Baseball (Low/Mid/High wealth).  And see the attendance in the grandstands!!!

Auto Raceway (low/mid wealth attraction) (C'mon EA, can't you get a Nascar sponsorship like you did from Nissan for the stupid charging stations)

Racetrack (horses; as part of gambling perhaps)

Urban Stadium (a la Madison Square Garden) that would fit in better among a downtown skyline.

    Nuf for now...

I don't think closing roads would be a good idea, the UI traffic is already screwed up closing roads would make them go crazy
