  1. Maxis/E.A. has been too quiet

There would be a number of other problems with an expanded city tile not least of which would be the resources underground. All of those data layers would need to be spread out across the map by whoever created it. I suspect without the correct map editing tools this would be problematic. One point that I think we miss with the closer city tiles argument is how rubbish the other cities look in the region when the tiles are close together. I actually don't like the graphics scaling on the surrounding cities as they end up looking horrible. A necessary evil I guess.
  2. Bigger regions or bigger city tiles?
  3. This is a great mod, I was just wondering if you have had any compatibility issues with other mods?   This stopped working for me after the first time I used it and I was wondering what I did...
  4. New Found (Finished)

Awesome work! What filters are you using?
  5. Sorry forgot to add whether or not this is happening with other games!
  6. When was the last time you cleaned out you PC? It may be a long shot but could you have a dust build up in there?
  7. I don't know if you are able to reconnect to the tunnel after the ends are deleted. Try bulldozing the tunnel and redrawing. It is time consuming but I think that is all you can do.
  8. Best road layout help

Seeing the layout in action shows it's a really straight forward solution to the problem. Well done, I like it!
  9. Hey there. Are you able to expand on the issue you are having? What I have found is that you have to bulldoze tunnels and bridges in a number of sections. If you bulldoze the ends of the tunnel the tunnel itself will remain behind. You should be able to hover your bulldoze tool over the tunnel. When it flashes red click and it should disappear.
  10. Many doubts

Hey there: After 100,000 inhabitants I have not had many requests to increase land value. The only issues that you may have in this regard are if you delete parks etc and that can throw the land value around. I'm not sure what you are referencing in the great works point but there are several stages of things that they need/require, 1. The resources to build them, 2. the workers to get them going, 3. Power and water etc to keep them going. Was there something else that you were after? After a meltdown at the nuclear plant you can use the ground scrubber from the academy to speed up the process of removing the radiation, otherwise you are going to have to wait for a very long time in game for the radiation to fade. I hope this helps!
  11. Scrin = OP! Glad to hear you got CoT fixed buddy!
  12. Best road layout help

The problem with trying to recommend the best road layout is that it largely depends on the type of city you are trying to create and where you are trying to build it. Different terrain can scupper different builds. For a balanced RCI city I have found that it is more important to focus on the travel times for residents getting to work in the factories. Using tunnels or bridges to make direct routes into your industrial zones for a particular set of residents is quite effective. I tend to use grids for this sort of city as it is easier to judge where everything needs to be. Also I don't really attempt this on a map that isn't flat, cliffs and hills can cause problems. For cities with a specialisation my layouts are normally dictated by the resources or proximity to the highway entrance or water. Due to the fact that the specialisations rely on free flowing traffic to keep trade going or to keep tourists piling in you need to be a bit more careful with road placement. I have found that electronics and gambling can be done on a grid but mining and drilling tends to be far more fluid to fully utilise the resource that is there. Given this these cities can be built on pretty much any map but your priority has to be getting trade trucks/delivery trucks to their destinations as quickly as possible to maximise trade and resource delivery which in turn minimises the factory down time and maximises profits. In summary I have personally found that it is more important to think about the end goal of the city whilst building it and let that dictate your road layout rather than the road layout dictating the final result of the city.
  13. I know this may have been number one on the list but have you tried reinstalling the game?
  14. Have you posted on the ea forums to see if they can help?
