So I've bought this game to. Played it for some time now. And I must say, it's quite the improvement. But still, there are a lot of problems - There are only 3 songs available. WAY to less to actually play the game for long times. - The game still crashes on my PC. Maybe that is my fault, I know. - The most annoying thing is that you do need Steam to play it (VERY BAD EXPERIENCE with them. Freaking paid those a-holes about 50 euro for 2 games and since then I couldn't logon to my account again. And now those games have dissapeared and they will not help me at all getting those games back. Freaking ripoffs. I hate steam. origin is btr For the rest I'm fine with the game, same as with the original. I just paid the whole price. Maybe sick I know, but yeah.

Nothing is wrong with this game. You only do miss a few small things. But that you do with EACH game EA released since 2010.

This is maybe a bad/useless not OK topic. Sorry for that. But I just do wonder. The game is out for around 5 years now right? And I do wonder, who of you did play it from the beginning? Like, when the Alpha (or Beta) came out, when Online was STILL available. I do wonder, because I wanna see those people again who gave me an awesome night that night. The last night of online play. Where we all went to 1 city and be just there with eachother. Yes it was a bit jammed/slow. But still, it was SO awesome. It felt like you actually where in a real place with all you're friends. You got a warm feeling with it. I hoped with SimCity 2013 that feeling would return, but sadly it didn't. So I was wondering if someone from that day, is still here?

Can't get the mod to work here.

Maybe quite a useless topic. But I do wonder. How many do still play this game? Why or whynot? And is there anything new already that there isn't since the last post on this forum was made?

I can play a city up to a whole day, even when I have build everything full. xD No but really. It's like real life. Sometimes you THINK you're DONE. But then suddenly....

It's a logical change. It happens all the time. We should be happy there isn't a new game out for Simcity yet, then the prices would drop even more and our suffering would feel even worse. At least, those who do suffer. I'm fine with what I've bought, and got NFS MW to for free so.

You can't get any of them to work? Are you sure that you put them in the correct folders? And could you list for me what mods you've downloaded? Posted them in the map where people said I should place them. (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityUserData\Packages) Though because I do not know if I need to copy all that scripts files. I only have 1 placed in this package. SimCity-Scripts_287520926 I've downloaded the Oppie Emergency Netherlands mod, Increase trade mod, fire increase mod and BTM Perfect bridges mod. But when playing the game I can't see any difference at ALL. So I think the mods aren't working for me. That's why I want to know, how to place all the scripts. So that maybe that can be why it doesn't work. Just need to know what am I doing wrong.

SimCity-Scripts_287520926 This file, I do see this in more then 1 mod. Sorry if this topic is already made or so. But I do wonder. Why does a lot of mods have this file. And must you really install this file each time seperatly, or is using just 1 file enough? And if you need to use them each time, how?

Not that good in explaining my feelings. But I do feel both games have something. For me 1 thing that makes a game playable is music. Yeah I know, I can use my own music to. But the fact that Cities XL got way better music then SimCity 2013 is one point to pass. Also, when you turn to the older versions of SimCity, acually no other game can compare to the music. Mainly SimCity 3000 has got such great music, can listen hours for it. And the best thing is, you can actually transfer it to your Ipod. For me also, a game must be able to have cheats. Not because I am such a horrible person that can't play fair. No, because with all games ever made I got 1 simple problem. I always got way to less money to build my dream city. And lucky both games give you the oppurtunity to cheat. But SimCity 2013 is more free in this then Cities XL. And the thing is, Cities XL is way harder to play actually in cheat-free mode. The thing is. Both games had ONLINE mode. Like Cities XL actually gave me my best online experience ever. It was so much fun the night it all ended. So much friends gained for just a brief time. Enjoying all together with our avatar on 1 place (massively overloading the servers at one point). It was just awesome. And the most fun thing was: Nobody could actually ruin your plans. Like is possible now in Simcity 2013. Like in Cities XL, people could look up your city and talk to you and you could trade with each other. I really liked this concept, even if I am not a social person. But with SimCity. It's just, I do not like it at all. Mean. You got so small maps, then you have 1 region with all kinds of stuff, where you wanna built. But there it stays, you cannot trade with others, and talking, it's possible, but barely. And the worst thing is, compared to Cities XL, this game is full of useless a-holes who aren't English in speech and thus ruin the whole aspect of social gaming all toghether. Certainly when they constantly abandon there cities. Then there is the traffic system. For me a important thing to. And I think in this VS thingy, surely Cities XL will win the game. WAY more ways of transport. Roads looked better. And I could do as much as I wanted. My mind could turn the way it wanted to without problems. SimCity however. Yes it has bridges now, you actually feel some of the transport with other cities are working. But it's just, you have the stuff. But you do not really feel your connecting. Major bugs maybe the cause. But when you build one city with only resources, the other with education and the next one with something else, you can seriously see how bad this whole system is working. And, if this would work well. I could live with the way to small mapp sizes. But now, It's just HORRIBLE. And I do really miss my metro system. And the fact the connection of roads in high/low modes work... So, it's kinda tied right now. Both games have got there pro's and minus. But the thing for me is. I can actually PLAY SimCity 2014 today. I cannot play Cities XL anymore. Because I cannot get the game installed, because I miss some keys, and they won't give new ones to me. While I did pay quite a few bucks. Also, with my internet connection constantly down, I cannot download the game at all so. And this makes me quite mad. But, all games I've ever had. It's the same. Till now I did not found a game that I played more. As in, I do play certain games a hole lot in the first few days (heck, when a new pokémon game comes out school/work can drop death, I won't leave my 3DS out of my sight and will only stop playing to sleep...For at least a week). But then it's enough and I stop playing. And then I play again. And stop again. And so it goes on and on. I did never had a game that I played more then a month. So...Till that date I am not happy with games.

I've voted not really on both basically. But actually do not have a good reason why. But I did like the fact I got a free Need for Speed game though thanks to the fail-launch of the game.

Think a lot of players will now go to Banished and won't even try to download the 10th patch....

Seriously loving this, great job making this list. Can't wait for update 10:P To bad prices are only in dollar and the other one, not in Euro's (which is a big market to right?) Would be fun to see sale numbers per year in this topic to. And to see the price drops per update or so., Euro currency has been added (happens to be the same value as £). -Cyclone
