I have never been to Chicago so I can't really speak to that style directly. But I do know from experience that thicker pizzas, while not necessarily bad, are not my favorite. Something about pizza requiring a fork and knife to eat just seems weird,

The only "Chicago Style" pizza I like is from a local chain called Barro's, and it's not even authentic Chicago style. It's just more... puffy than NY Style and less deep-dish than true Chicago Style.

My favourite pizza if we're going out is pepperoni & mild sausage. I also like one of the versions of all dressed (which isn't really all toppings) but pepperoni, green peppers and mushrooms. There's also this store-bought thin-crust pizza that comes frozen. When on sale for $2-3 it's awesome. Chicken, red peppers. YUM... :D

If you need a knife and fork to eat a pizza, you're not chewing hard enough.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Pizza is meant to be eaten by hand!

A knife and fork is practically required for Chicago style deep dish! Well, I did watch a friend of mine eat like regular pizza once.. but that was a little weird and I'm pretty sure it was cold by then, otherwise it probably would have fallen apart.

I prefer New York style pizza over Chicago. I have been to New York, but not Chicago, but I prefer less cheese than needing

A knife and fork.

that's just my personal preference, when he first saw it, my little brother thought you were supposed to rip the cheese off. I don't know exactly why, but... I find that you can find good pizza anywhere here in the Mid-Atlantic, but New York takes the crown. Because you get cheesesteak in Philly and crabcake in B-More.

It's not a question of how hard you chew. Deep dish pizza is so thick and sloppy that you literally cannot pick whole slices of it up without them falling apart and making a mess. Thus, you have to cut it into little bits in order to eat it.

New York style pizza almost has the opposite problem: it's sometimes so thin that it lacks the structural integrity to not flop when you pick it up. Most people solve this problem by folding the slice in half along the radius of the pie, bottom out (also helps contain the grease). My own creative solution (which has occasionally gotten me "what the hell are you doing" looks :P) is to pick the entire plate up and dangle a bite's worth of the slice over the edge.

I make no apologies for loving Chicago style.  It's probably just my being from the Midwest.  But I love all kinds of pizza, so you won't find me turning my nose up at New Yorkers for their pizza (although I'd prefer a bit less droop in mine;) )

We're trying to decide whether we should buy a house here in Japan or move back to the States in a couple of years.  We'd be happy either way, and we can't decide!  WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!

Or maybe it is that us Easterners prefer New York style and Midwesterners prefer Chicago?

I have a new favourite set of pizza toppings. Ham, cheese, pineapple, and bacon.

I was in Australia the first time I had that combination of toppings. Marvelous, isn't it?

I was so disappointed the last time I ate pizza in New York. My cousin was going on and on about how Pittsburgh pizza tastes like cardboard and blah blah blah. My dad and I looked at each other knowing full well that Center Avenue Slice in West View, PA blew this pizza knock off, pizza-like imposter out of the water. Although in the past, New York pizza was almost always better. Not this time though. Of course we were on the island though and not in the city. I am of disappoint!

Oh, and Larks... if you ever want to see a true baseball fan, come to Pittsburgh. there are like 20 or 30 of us! Please make no mention of the Pirates' most recent series. Atlanta is our kryptonite.

If I am going to have interest in something girly it would have to be something I have fond memories of doing with my sisters as a kid. Since neither of my sisters were ever into My Little Pony, the latest iteration of it holds nothing for me. Also, meh on TV shows in general.

My sister adored (and still does adore) George Michael. Because of this, I really dig his music years later. At the time... not so much.

I never watch TV, I prefer to have control over what happens, that and I don't give a damn about celebrity gossip.

I have the impression all evolutions relating to technology are more extreme in America. People still watch a lot of tv like they always did, but things are also slowly changing in Europe.

People in Japan watch a lot of TV on their cell phones, especially in the big cities where long commutes are spent on trains.  As for us?  My son pulled the TV down in a fit of rage.  My wife hid it in our closet, claiming it to be 'broken,' but it isn't.  It's back in our living room,  but it's just a big, expensive paperweight.  I don't think it's been turned on since the last sumo basho ended (I love sumo).

Pretty much the entirety of my time between getting home from work and going to bed most nights is spent on my computer, on the internet. And no, watching shows online is not part of that. A lot of it is Simtropolis, AA Roads, and Facebook (and in turn, links that my friends on FB have shared). You'd be surprised how much time this stuff can suck up.
