Riots outside City Hall

I've finally been able to get in and play with some consistency today. I have a city that is doing quite well, I cannot find any glaring issues, yet I have a mob outside of city hall protesting. I cannot figure out how to find out what they are there for. Any tips?

I think they're always there lol. Might be wrong though. Did you check to make sure everyone is happy?

As far as I can tell everyone is happy. Maybe I'm overlooking something? Is anyone else having the same problem??

I had a never ending sewage problem, even when I was exporting to other cities. Constant riots until I built my own treatment plant... Very annoying.

Hover your mouse over city hall, it should say what the problem is. They tend to hang around though. One of my cities had people moaning about crime, despite there being one criminal (one!) in the city who wasn't in jail, and over 20 patrol cars and a crime prevention van. They've gone now but it was pretty ridiuclous

I'm working on a city now that keeps getting commercial abandonment because of "high crime" but I'm not seeing much (usually not ANY) crime on my map. I have tried hovering over city hall but nothing comes up.....

if the problem doesnt show up for hovering your mouse over city hall clicking on it should show it. I been having riots for low land value but its weird because only like 3 streets are low weath and the majority of my city is high and medium wealth i am confused no matter what i do to try to raise the value they still protest my friend suggested parks and it didnt help.

The citizens that participate in these riots, seriuously have a long term memory.

If you expect a fast reply from me, please quote me.

    - "Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible. Instead … Only try to realize the truth.

       Neo: What truth?
       Boy: »There is no spoon.
       Neo: »There is no spoon?

Boy: »Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself."

Well the problem here may be that the middle/rich people built their houses at certain places where the land value dropped afterwards. This could be cause by a multitude of things.

They aren't just complaining that there are some low land value places in the city. They are also saying that where they built THEIR house has decreased in land value, and they want you to increase it back up. Try to find a location with middle/rich people that has low/middle land value. Then place parks there.

The message about city hall says that people are protesting because of too much crime.  But my crime stats show 0 to 2 crimes per day.  So, I don't know why they are protesting.  I basically just ignore them.

Had to finally abandon this region. Couldn't figure out what the constant protest were outside of City Hall and I bankrupted myself trying to make improvements too fast. Got up to around 30,000 citizens and the Sims kept demanding more and more water pumps and sewage plants. Had like 15 water pumps for just 30k sims and around 7 or 8 sewage plants.

    Hi,

Sewage plants are bad for the city. You may use maybe 1 or 2 UNTIL you have enogh money to build the next building in the list (forgot what exactly its name - Sewage filtration plant or so).

Now, if u built 7-8 sewage plants, u unknowingly poluted the ground so bad, that of course the land value decrease dramatically, but it also increased the level of germs in the neighbourhood. The pour sims probabely crowded your cliniics, if u had some.

Hope this wil help u in your next region.

Guys, guys, you have to understand them! I mean, a high density, low income building generates 5000+ people, only 400 of which have a job and 200 are buyers and off shopping. There is a total of 4400+ people with a lot of time on their hands and nothing they should be doing. So they do what bored people do, they walk around, comment on how slow cityworks really go, they block all the high density streets, so that cars have to take the slower ones and, of course, they go and complain to the mayor.

I see them around all the time, complaining about several different things. But I know it's only that people like to complain, so I ignore them as any mayor does. :)

Watching RCI and Happiness meter is way more accurate than seeing what the average protester has to say. Just ignore the people who congregate outside of the mayor's mansion / city hall unless they provide a mission for you.
