What games would make good movies?

So with the Silent Hill, Hitman, and Resident Evil movies out, it got me thinking about other games that would make good movies. I for one think God of War would make an awesome movie!!!

Pong on the other hand would make a horrible movie

Final Fantasy made a decent one (Advent Children).

 

I think Starcraft would lend itself well to cinema. Half-Life as well. Limbo is in an cinematic style (similar to film noir), I don't know how well it would translate over though.

 

There are quite a few games, not just limited to video games, that could work as films or have films set in their universe - Magic: the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, Paranoia (which could either go very dark or very comedic)... the list goes on.

 

There's a short movie based off Team Fortress 2 being planned, I'm not sure how far along that has come though.

Yeah, Half-Life should work well.

 

Maybe Unreal, too. I mean... prison ship crashes on alien planet, lone survivor fights his way through the alien world, meets both friendly and hostile aliens, tries to find a way back... that could work for an action movie.

 

Skyrim could also serve as backdrop for a movie, I think.

Command and Conquer. Allies + Soviet Union + Yuri's Forces + G.D.I. + Brotherhood of Nod + Forgotten + CABAL's army + Scrin = epic win (or epic catastrophe, if Michael Bay makes this movie). Try to imagine a world where an alien crystal called Tiberium is mutating the ecosystems, turning Earth into an alien planet. Ion storms, huge deserts, strange plants, abandoned cities and scary animals, are just the background of epic wars. Wars with cyborgs, huge tanks, mind controlling weapons, wormholes, robots, weapons based on Nicola Tesla's designs, railguns, titanic walkers...

Red Alert ,eh? That would be awesome. I'm second to Bdub01 too, God of War would be a great movie. Vin Diesel is the one close enough actor to be Kratos, if i may say.

Oh, and they just made Company of Heroes, an RTS game a movie recently. In case anyone around here played that game.

I would like to see Metroid, Battletech and Fallout be made to good movies.

Guess you just can follow the same approach than in the intro video. First a small boy playing, later a grown-up guy who enrolls in engineering school, later a guy who invests a well-deserved loan (perhaps won in a cards game) in a small railroad line with a crappy locomotive... and a 20 years later, railroad empire. Two and a half hours and you got it covered, just like in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. You can mix some personal drama and love stuff in the middle, just not to make everything about trains.

I think the new BioShock (or the first, for that matter) would make awesome movies. Excellent writing and dialogue in stunning environments with top notch action? Yes please!

 

Of course, Hollywood would screw it up and focus primarily on the big daddy/handymen fights and botch the twist endings, but it would still be worth the two hours of my life it would take to watch it, I think.

you know a Movie or TV show set in the sid meiers alpha centauri universe would be awesome! I mean I would definately watch, especially if it was from the perspective of zarkov's faction, mostly because I see him as a utopianist sciencist, so it could get fairly interesting, maybe from the POV of a team of spies/infiltrator units breaking into one of yang's hives heh, would be Awesome!
