Thanks, I would have loved to take one with the sun/rising setting behind the hills but I would have had to be there much later/earlier, temperature might have been more bearable though.

Excellent night pics, you've made very ordinary surroundings look great :)

Thanks, that is my goal after all.

I think going later/earlier for the golden light would be worth it, but it's up to you of course. :D

Here's two more images.  I'm posting the first one twice because I believe they work best as a set.

So i gave that Exposure Blending technique a try.  I went hiking 2 weekends ago and got some good stuff.  The sky was clear enough that my afternoon shots didn't get blown sky, so i just took some morning stuff to work with. Here's my final image (and scaled down to 1280x960 from 1600x1200 that i shot at):

    kendalkatwalk1.jpg?psid=1

    Here's the foreground shot:

    kendal%20katwalk%20013.JPG?psid=1

    And here's the sky shot:

    kendal%20katwalk%20012.JPG?psid=1

So am i approaching this right?  I know the sky value doesn't feel right (which i know adjusts with the % layer slider, will get a better feel for with practice) and i was sloppy with the by-hand drawing, but this was a quick 20 minute experiment.  I used a 75% reveal mask for the sky and a 25% reveal for the slightly blown sections of the top half of the background mountains.

Interesting shot of the shadow patterns in a parking ramp.  Try cropping it down to just the ramp without the scenic background and see if it might sell.

Not a bad idea - I actually really liked the buildings/airport runway in the back myself, but every shot is worth revisiting, so why not? :)

Today, I encountered an empty motorway A12. Since this is a quite unique sight, I took a camera and a bike and shoot this event...

And here is the cause of the closure: a severe accident!

Around 15:00, the eastbound roadway was opened again. The westbound roadway is still blocked at this time...

All I get is a message in any number of languages saying the image is unavailable.

    Now fixed, thank you.

Seems both facebook and flickr have some serious limitations.

I have never used 'Flicker', but I have used Facebook and Photobucket. Photobucket hasn't limitations on file type/size I believe (as long as it is a picture format) however the free version only allows limited storage slots, thus old pictures have to be periodically replaced, or you have to have several accounts/emails which is burdensome in extremis.

Not the best picture ever (I took it with my Nokia Lumia), but it's an amazing view anyway (taken from the restaurant of the Music Instruments Museum in Brussels, one of the best panorama places - they gave us the best table :D ). The two darkish stripes are from the panorama-app of my phone.

If you ever go to Brussels, you really should go to this place for a drink.

Yes, and it is south of Detroit.  A big chunk of Canada is further south than the 49th parallel.  Me, for example.

I'm an avid skier here in Canada, and I have taken some great shots last winter with something as simple as a GoPro, here is one of them that I dug up.

^Your image is definitely quite dramatic. :D

I went out shooting tonight, and aimed for a certain type of light.  Many photographers are familiar with the "golden hour" as the sun is lowest on the horizon, but there's also a "blue hour" which comes almost immediately aftewards (ok, so the blue hour is only about half an hour, but "blue half-an-hour" sounds silly :P)

Rather neat.  Looks like the beginning of civil twilight which only lasts for 11 minutes in most latitudes followed by nautical twilight of the same duration which is the ideal time for navigation star shots.

Star shots eh?  I'd like to get into astrophotography some day, but it's very money and time intensive.

Here's another blue hour photograph, only in the morning rather than the evening

    10592109774_bfe69b5d6b_o.jpg

And another image from the same location, on a different day.  Both were taken at Tampa International Airport.  Surprisingly, security seems a bit relaxed about people standing on the top floor of the short term parking garage and taking pictures, but I guess since so many people are doing it it's not  "suspicious".

Nice piece of art, but the building would have to rotate to make the sundial work properly.
