Well... Bourke Place is finally out!! I swear that took longer to get ready for upload than it took to make the whole thing... Lots of LOD issues.. disappearing zooms.. night model displaced from day model.. arghhh  :(

Hopefully all good now, please enjoy :)

Congratulations mate! I have a suggestion for a building: Australia 108, not yet approved (about to ;) ) but it's a monster and would be a massive challenge for a super skilled modeler like yourself! Again great job on Bourke Place, an absolute ripper!

Here's my next project... 333 Collins Street. Its a bit of an elusive one.. I noticed the green dome one day from the south side of the river and thought it looked great, and managed somehow to track down which building it is, only to discover there's almost no photo references for it, no wikipedia entry, and only small mention on emporis... I think its more famous inside than out, but then again the inside is amazing! Luckily, thanks to Bing and Google Street view I've managed to model this... I think its ready for textures now, let me know what you think :)

Thanks also for those comments above, I'm glad you liked Bourke Place. Hunterstyle, I haven't heard of Australia 108, I'll look it up. Thanks :) Elavery, Freshwater Place was a model I churned out while I was waiting for 120 CSM to render... I wasn't really happy with the model, but I will come back to it I promise!

Now that is sheer class. I'm aching for this already. What size lot will it fill in game, so I can reserve a spot for it?

Bourke Place is brilliant, as for 333 Collins Street i don't normally like old style like these but this one actually looks quite interesting, your work is amazing as always.

I'm looking forward to this one.

Congrats on another great release! Very impressive, considering this is your 4th BAT. Some serious talent there ;-)

And great new project coming. Keep.It.Up.Sir! :thumb:

Thanks for those comments. Here's a first textured rendering. Please provide your thoughts, I'll probably start on the nightlights shortly ....Oh, I just realised, I forgot to do some of the texturing at the street level, but seeing as I'm about to press post I'll upload what I've done so far for comment anyway :)

Libelliibicus, the model will fit on a 3x5 lot.

That is just great. I actually don't know where this building is!
Australia 108 is a proposed skyscraper to be built in Southbank, and will be about 90 metres higher than the Eureka. It attracted a bit of controversy (especially from Lord Mayor Robert Doyle) over the fact it's height could potentially overshadow the Shrine of Rememberance.

Something to think about more, I think, is how the building will fit onto the lot later on.  I think Bourke Place's lot should have been a 5x3, instead of a 6x4, and the building should have been scaled a little bit to make it fit the lot, leaving 1.6 m/1 paver tile on sides facing the street (Bourke Place has a typical urban setback from the street, which most people use 1.6 m as standard for), a bit wider for any sides that are an alley (there isn't an established standard for this), and then of course 0 m for any side that is supposed to be wall to wall.

Recreating the architecture of a building is important but recreating the urban form is also important.

I also know that for me making Detroit buildings, even though I don't think anyone other than me does this (even people making Detroit CJs, strangely enough...) but I like to plop all of the finished buildings next to each to recreate blocks of the city.  I always get a lot of satisfaction over it.  So I generally try to map out the lot sizes for any area to see how the buildings would be adapted to the game's grid, and to ensure that all of the recreations can be plopped together.

Looking great! One of those amazing buildings which receive little attention :P

I linked some images to Australia 108 a few pages back I think, but here's the website

    http://australia108.com.au/

Quite a lot of images for reference

Thanks again guys... here's updated North & South renders with completed modelling along the street frontage. I'm going to start on night lighting now. Let me know if you think I need to do anything else with the day render :)

    I agree as well. :)

I have to say them same as Vlasky. The other building was good, but it's to me is sexy. :D

For the roof texture, I think you need to darkin  the edges of the roof next to the parapit/ wall of the building not to much, just enough to give the building some age. :)

It's looking lvoely, I recall seeing this building from the river when I lived in Melb..I would maybe do some work on the glass, it looks a bit flat and could do with being a buit glossier and busier..

Maybe the Facade could have some slight weathering at the base and around the edges..

    Otherwise, superb!

Thanks guys, this is really good feedback to get. I'd much rather spend time making BATs people are interested in, otherwise.. what's the point! This building seems to have struck a chord with people, so... yay :thumb:

Great suggestions about grunging the textures up a bit.. it does look a bit pristine. Thanks for those suggestions :)
