Check that you don't have both MaxisNite and Darknite .FSH files in the same .SC4Model file. Also check that you don't have the MaxisNite version in your plugins folder too.

omg.. think I'm going to cringe in embarrassment...

I had separate folders in my plugins folder for DN and MN versions... I'm betting that's exactly what it is.. explains other weird things like the building lighting up with no lights exported. Better go skulk off and check...

Yeah.. that was it .. hours and hours of futile rendering for silly mistake like that.. moving on!! (but thanks Jason... how many times is that now you've saved this project from oblivion? )

Unless any major objections I'm going to start preparing these for upload. They'd have to be pretty major objections I'm so very over this BAT now

Something that absolutely needs to be done though, is the extra tile on the one side needs to be removed. It should basically be wall to wall on all sides except the church has a small set back.

That's a lot of buildings in the pipeline! I'd like to suggest 4 buildings to the pipeline if you'd like to work on them later on

Have you heard of Grollo Tower? It was proposed for Melbourne, but never built and would have been the tallest in the world at the time.

Here's the google search for the tower the one that looks like this

Also the proposed Australia 108, which will most likely be built, becoming the tallest in Melbourne and the southern hemisphere at 388m.

I already had ANZ World HQ - (I referred to it as 100 Queen Street). People either love or hate that building.. I quite like it

Probably not going to do any buildings that aren't actually built though.. I don't think I'm that brave, I have enough trouble with ones that are built

I'm actually re-thinking Southern Cross Station.. I was looking at it earlier on Bing maps, from above I think that would end up being one of the biggest ugliest BATs ever made (That and Jeff's Shed) .

Usually I tell people to tune down the noise size of the glass... but IMO I think it looks pretty good the way it is! haha

As for the base... I'm pretty sure that Australia is famous for it's sandstone! So I think that your base pillars and architecture that is a peach color is a depiction of sandstone.

You'll have to edit the Diffused photo to a correct setting that compliments the real-life structure and that fits in nicely with Simcity 4.

As for this map, you can use this under the bump map settings. Preferably under Arch & Design materials so you can edit a small low glossy reflection (sandstone doesn't reflect super well, but if you notice every thing around us refracts or reflects light. If they didn't... They'd be pitch black objects in real life haha.

You'll need to tile these maps in sync so they don't look messed up in closer zooms. The real life tiled version of this image is 6x6x6m.

as for Southern Cross Station... Autodesk has a satin chrome that will look perfect for the roof! haha
