the desaturation is mainly so it looks ok with the games pallete, the game doesn't handle bright colours very well so always best to desaturate anything too bright :)

Looks amazing, sooo good

How about 120 Collins Street next ;)

and to think Melbourne is even denser now, with more stuff going up as we speak..it's the New York of Australia, towering skyscrapers and little laneways, a mix of old and new...new to have a trip across the Tasman soon as its been a couple of years since i've been

Wonderful job on the building! Any ideas on which building you might be planning on BATing next?

I'm probably going to do 120 Collins Street next.. Gutterclub suggested it and I started playing around and now I've kind started it already... I guess, so may as well keep going. Its going to be tricky because there doesn't appear to be a lot of references for it, especially of the base... might have to go on a bit of a field trip and take some of my own photos...

I want all of these! hahahaha

Yes, I know the feeling... where to start!! Bourke Place is amazing.. and Australian Stock Exchange is nostalgic for me.. my first job in Melbourne was in that building :)

Your work is absolutely stunning- some of the best I've seen.

I really hope you get around to Bourke Place and Freshwater soon :)

    Keep up the amazing work.

Oh no... i've just been doing some research on the base of 120 Collins Street, looks like there's a heritage facade attached to it on the Collins Street entrance.. that could be a BAT on it own!... Is it too late to change my mind? :uhm:

Well, another approach would be to pretend it wasn't there at all and simply model a logical extension of the remaining parts of the base.

A few buildings have that similar layout, I guess it's because of the historical value...

Hey mate, just popped the Eureka alongside the Rialto and either the Rialto is underscaled or Eureka overscaled as there is a massive difference. Did you model them to both RL height the stretch it along the Z axis by 133%? Eureka look stunning in game btw :)

I wouldn't worry too much about the Heritage building facade on 120 Collins, just model it without

Thought I'd give it a go... I think it looks pretty good. It was a nice break from skyscrapers for a little while anyway...

Gutterclub, i'm pretty sure its the Rialto that's under-scaled. It was something I never got around to fixing. When I scaled up 133% and placed it next to the Empire State Building it was the same height, which it clearly isn't! But I never went back and checked what I did wrong. Version 3 is still on my list, I will definitely revisit it then.

Looks good. I like the detail. So far, I would just inset the windows on the bottom farther. They go in farther than you have them atm.

Yeah, think Maxis were just making it up as they go along. The easiest way would be to model them to RL height, that way all your buildings should all follow the same scale...

    The facade is looking good

Looking at the RL pic, is it possible to make it more lighter?

Looks great but indeed it could be a bit brighter (especially the yellow ornaments).

The colors should be much more vibrant. Just check the the colors with the reference as well as you can. The brick should be brighter, and the trim should be brighter and more yellow.

Great work btw. I'm really excited to see how this one turns out.
