Oh, i didn't know you had surgery, i hope you are ok, my friend, sometimes, i read so quick and i didn't saw anithing related to a surgery, i'm sorry, but i'm sure you are ok, you are strong, my friend, and very creative.

Living in the Spanish biggest steel producer city, and one of the more productive city of this material in Europe, i can say, you are a genious of the steel mills and factories. Very well. I live in Aviles, Asturias, Spain, search it in google earth if you want my friend, and good luck with the post-surgery recuperation,my friend.

Take care.

Cristian

Hey Steve,

I agree that there's still a lot of work to do in the teaser area, but by the looks of it now, I bet it's going to look phenomenal in the end! I don't think I'm going to try BATting anytime soon because I really don't have the time or the patience to read a bunch of text if you know what I mean. Once again, good luck with your surgery, and just wanted to let you know that I'm taking time out of what I'm supposed to be doing here in physics class to comment here!

Hello everyone. Thanks again for your amzing comments and well wishes. the sugery went well. It will (according to the Doctor) take a minimum of 3-4 months to get the full use (hopefully full use) of my arm back. So the BAT is out for a while. the jounal... too early to tell.. i will certainly be keeping you posted and of coarse commenting in YOUR journals. Sorry i can't reply yet (having use in only 1 arm is harder than i thought). You guys are great and i really apprecite all of you..

Take care for now and God bless you all..

Thanks Steve for keeping us posted on the results of your surgery.

I hope the pain is bearable and take it easy with your CJ. We will be here all the time.

Some comments on your mine and teaser ....................6.gif.................

This is the first time I see Somy excavator in a CJ. You have made it beatifull. Maybe the pit should be bigger, but then again maybe this is a start project.

What you did with that 1x2 dirt road is perfect, it shows your eye for details.

I would loose the shrubberies and trees as these are way too green for this industrial area. The water tower is a nice touch though as management wants to give the workers some nice colours to watch while digging in the dirt (ha, ha, ha).

Take care with that shoulder and recover soon.

Update 40.. Jamison Steel Mill and Frieght Station.... Dedicated to cowcorn

I actually did this update before my operation. It's too difficult to work in game at the moment.. Next update might not be for a little bit although I am playing around with adding a few more flora mods that can be used in mayor mode... The stuff is only in Alpha at the moment but it requires less time in the game and more with the reader.. I can work easily enough with 1 arm in the reader9.gif

Ok lets lay the Jamison Steel Mill and a freight Station and Maintenance yard today. Only the basics mind you...

    start1de4.jpg

    Lets terraform a little:

    start2gi6.jpg

I am also going to enlarge the mine pit as well in the future. I have dug it out some more:

    extendingpitya5.jpg

I have also changed the "lollipop" water toweer as aleking calls it...

    watertowerzf4.jpg

Alright lets get ready to lay the Freight station and Maintenace yard:

    tsandmaintenanceyard1tu3.jpg

    Here we go:

    tsandmaintenanceyard2sp5.jpg

    And the maintenance yard...

    tsandmaintenanceyard3be5.jpg

    Now for the Steel Mill:

    jamisonsteelzg5.jpg

    This mill needs parking:

    parking1fg8.jpg

Lets also add some dirt roads (not Transit Enabled. there's no need):

    parking2vu6.jpg

Time to connect the rail line and add car parking on the hill: Notice the Truck logo?

    parking3mj6.jpg

Lets do a couple of closeups:

    upclose1gn6.jpg

    upclose2az7.jpg

    Now some pan outs:

    teaser1gh5.jpg

    teaser2jk1.jpg

    and a night pic:

    completednightji9.jpg

Thats it for now everyone. I'm going to spend some time taking a look at other journals over the next few days. When I'm feeling better I'll get back to my own. Thanks again everyone for you heartfelt warm wished. They are really appreciated44.gifHave a great day...

    Hello, Steve:

I'm glad to hear that your surgery went well. During your recovery period, you don't have to worry about losing any followers of this CJ because we understand what RL is plaguing you with now. Just take it slow and easy.

As for this last update, you're the 3rd (or somewhere in that vicinity) person that I've seen use and highlight the Jamison Steel Works in their CJ. I guess I should join in with that later because all the SC4 kings are using it!3.gif It looks good where you placed it, and the parking lot, freight station, and maintenance station are all well placed, although it seems like something's missing. Trees, maybe? I don't know, but this was a good update. I can't wait for more!

Hey great update... and I'm not saying that because of the dedicace! Keep the morale Steve (I've just learned your name) it'll all be all right. And thanks for dedicating the update... I really didn't expect that! This could be worth a feature for Macedon... just sending a probe...

That's what you can call a realistic industry.

I've got a question about the mine, where did you get that mud textures which are under the excavator? Are they custom made by you?

The Steel Mill is great too, nice to see you placed an freight rail station there too - that's realistic.

Amazing job on last two updates sorchin, keep it up!

That placement looks extreemely realistic Steel mills are located near coal mines of near iron mines 90 percent of the time. Unless you happen to be in japan that has neither. for a small distance like that I would of expected to see a conveyor from the mine to a bunker that the steel mill uses. The images are wonderful they take along time to load but is that because they are from a 1600x1200 monitor? most of mine are done at 1024x768 mostly cause of my old CRT.

I think I will keep an eye on this CJ See what else I can learn.

    Nice work!

Those trees between the rail yard and the steel mill are a good choice.

I miss the lollipop, but I guess this watertower is also OK.

What is that steel roofed (well aluminium roofed I guess is better) station next to the maintenance yard?

NOTE: Hello my friends. My appologies for enhancing your concern about my arm last update. No worries, I'm not going to kill myself and I have my priorities straight (health first). I'm also unconcerned with you all NOT replying anymore. I do this for fun not for merit points or any silly thing. Besides, your such a great group that I know you'll be back regardless44.gif.

I had several PM's last week wondering how I'm doing and when will I be able to update again etc etc.. Every PM I got was very sincere and I thank you for that. Having said that I felt it necessary to mention in my last update how I'm doing and when updates will come again..

My arm is healing slowly but surely. Thanks everyone4.gif .

dedgren: LOL yes I do feel rather gimpy at the moment. Thanks buddy...

cityhawk: Hey mate, thanks for your concern.. Yes the area around the pit will be changed and be more realistic looking next update...

sim shady: Hey buddy, thanks man, To be honest I'm not sure how I injured it, my suspicions are most likely I did it playing golf 15.gif

    crazychickensc12: Thanks my good friend..

cowcorn: Thanks for your great support my friend...

szarkoz: Thanks buddy and yes that is one of my own textures. I working on a few textures and mods at the moment so I'm unsure when I'll release them.34.gif

    asturianu: Hey amigo. Thanks mate...

bat. As always I thank you for your great support and well wishes...

jacqulina: Hello my dear friend I appreciate your concern. I'm certainly doing better than last week. I'm getting used to it. Hopefully I won't need the sling for very much longer at least...Thanks for your comments...

    salut221: Thanks buddy..

Yoman3: Thanks as always buddy. I appreciate it...

    luigiboy: Thanks my good friend..

dogscarletnyc: Thanks my friend and welcome to my cj..44.gif

moganite: Hey mate thanks for your comments. Unfortunately the mill doesn't come with a conveyer and I haven't seen one on the STEX. If you know of a suitable one I could use please let me know..2.gif

owenluby: Thanks as always my good friend..

jaqulina: I am thanks as always..44.gif

raul39: I'm humbled by your comment mate although you have some great stuff in your cj too buddy..and I'm sure it will get better..

Nik nik: Thanks buddy. I can't slip anything by you can I. It's more like a maintenance shed I put in via the Lot Editor.. I thought it was a nice touch..4.gif

Experimenting with Mayor Mode Flora Mods: Dedicated to jaquilina

Although I'm unable as of yet to do an actual update I have been able to finally try something up until now I have not done, modding. I have started creating some new Mayor mode flora very similar to Goldiva's. In fact I used her flora files as a template. The real credit for this goes to Goldiva (who has in my opinion some of the greatest mayor mode flora on the STEX), Andreas Roth and jeronij who steered me down the right path to creating these mods.. (well.. I call them mods).. To use a Star Wars analogy these three are Jedi Masters where as I am just a Padawan..9.gif

I have created 2 different dead tree types and 3 different types of dirt and or gravel textures so far. It's still in beta. Either today or tomorrow I'm going to put more info and pics in my Bat Thread. So you might want to check that out within the next couple of days.

Here is what I have done so far in a test city: let me know what you think...I am also planning on creating a weeds and flowers mod, paerhaps even a junk pile one too.

    mayormodefloratl5.jpg

In the last pic the bottom one is Goldiva's reefs. I put it in to show the differences...

Here they are up close. Notice they work perfectly well in water too..9.gif

    mayormodeflora2yn8.jpg

Take care for now my good friends..

Please pray for those young people that were either hurt or killed in the Montreal school shooting today.. It's all over the news in Canada today. What a tragedy...15.gif
