That's the only one I currently have. There's some others hidden in a folder deep within the depths of that which is my closet. Maybe one day I'll clean it out, but not today ;)

It is really quite excellent. Do you do work in other genres and media?

No not really, the only reason I really started drawing cities was becuase my old computer couldn't handle simcity well so I created my own simcity that I could visualize in real life...

You are good enough to go to colour. Why not try pastels? They can be mixed and matched to achieve almost anything, but they are a little delicate. It offers another dimension to the work at not too much cost.

I had thought about starting with coloured pencils and then upgrade to water colour paints with fine brushes... but the problem is the drawings already take 100 hours plus just with pen if I were to then add paint that could easily double, plus what do I do with them? enter them in gallery? try EA / Maxis for a job? :L

    enter them in gallery?

You might consider that, actually. Unless you already know that you wouldn't want to do such a thing.

I cannot enter my piece direct to the gallery I have join an arts group and wait until next October to get them entered to Gallery however I fear that I will pay to get in this club just for it to have my pieces in the gallery and nothing to happen...

If that is your concern, you might consider deviantART, which is a free community.

I had a brief look at that site, it looks interesting, what do you just upload photo's and show them off to the world sort of thing?

I believe the general premise is that you join the site, host your artwork, and if someone really likes your work, they can purchase copies of it (and you make money on the sale, I believe.)

The point about adding colour is to add another dimension to please yourself. As the song says, "You can't please everyone. Learn to please yourself."

If you look at it as too much work, then perhaps you need to reassess your motives.

    Hello Everyone (again)

Latest update, Victoria Clarke Station, a railway station re-introduced into the 21st century for the modern needs of a modern city:

    IMG_3960.jpg

A general overview of the planned drawing

    IMG_3961.jpg

A close up of station entrance

    IMG_3967.jpg

    A side piece

So this is the station now, and obviously it needs to be incorporated into the drawing a further details added however so far, this being a 'draft' I

beautiful work on the station. [ if you want to learn to BAT.. when you'll have a new computer, download 3dsmax for free with a student account on Autodesk website, and search on internet how to Polly-modeling, mesh editing etc. Don't follow the omnibus or basic " BAT " tutorial which are on ST from a long time now, they are outdated and what they teach you is not as good as what you can find online. ]

Rokay, thanks, although I was getting a computer in 2 months from now however I play airsoft so I am thinking of getting some new gear...

That's beautiful! It's a bit gothic revival, right?

Yeh, Gothic / Victorian mixed with a new 21st century hub and its external features... However the look will change when its added into the actual city...

Beautiful. I know what you mean about the time it takes to draw this stuff. I started drawing myself do to the fact I cant get a pc untill I get some basic things such as my GED and a place of my own. Just bought some 12x18 paper to draw. I am just starting out myself so it will be some time before I get as good as you. I do so miss doing bats. Your very good and I agree if you have the time adding color would be a good idea.

Cool, its always a good skill both BAT- ing and Drawing, and if you ever need help or advice or pictured tutorials I am always happy to help the only problem I would see is the fact that I am guessing you would want to draw US cities? if so I'm not 100% on the layouts but I can still help with that, that I do know... :D

My next building will be my sim mars tower done in two point perspective. It will be some time before I get even close to drawing out a real city.

Oh what a beautiful and elaborate station! Meticulous detail. I love the Gothic style of it.

Art work from me? Oh I'm quite shy and modest with it. >.< I don't really have any drawings of cities or buildings. But what I usually draw is characters and detailed cartoons. I've also found myself doing tattoo designs lately.

Cheers for the comment, and well characters and cartoons, I always thought they were really easy to draw so one I attempted it, I dont think I could have been any worse, some cartoons are like a basic shape but then a shed load of details thrown in... blows my mind some of them...

Cartoon characters are pretty easy to draw with how simple they can get. :)

I don't mean to hijack your thread, I hope you don't mind but I wanted to show a more elaborate one I drew a few months ago. The picture is a little blurry since it's a photo I took from my cell phone. :P

This is Clause Anablem, he's a praying mantis like insect humanoid, a main character from a novel I wrote.

I can't wait to see more of your Art Work. :D

Well why thank you so much! :)

I worked on it rather progressively. It took me about a week or so to do. At first I was struggling with the head of the character a lot, but I looked up a photo of a praying mantis head to help me get a better idea of what I was doing then from there the rest came to follow suit.

So are you into more sort of sci-fi art? I was thinking of trying a sci-fi city but I dont really have the inspiration to do so becuase when drawing a city from say the 19th century a building thats 2000 years old could be placed making it 'new' sort of thing...

Hmm I do like some Sci-Fi art but I'm not just fixed on that genre alone. ;)

Sci-Fi cities are pretty interesting I'll admit.

You're mastering these 19th-20th century cities pretty well. :D
