Where's my post at?

>>>Oh there it is

I know the texture kinda loooks like its raining but really slap it on the building, those white streaks are supposed to represent sunlight-light patterns I was seeing in the photos. I'm curious how it turns out.

Are those SC4 buildings? If so, what's the one at the very bottom, left of the Hotel Shangri-La? It looks just like the Merc here in Chicago.

Today I've went to Tsim Sha Tsui and I got some shots of the Peking One... But I'm not going to upload them right now as it's nightime here... Perhaps I'll get'em on here in the next day.

Today weather in Hong Kong is really clear! With the high visibility... I got some shots of the Victoria Harbour and I'm sure all the buildings are clearly shown!

P.S Great work on the Langham Place... Perhpas I'll grab some nightime pictures of it.

@ bixel: Holy cow, how big is that sucker in SC4 tiles?? Superb work as always, my only concern is the bright white roof textures. Are these final?

@ T Wrecks I might do 1 more re-render because for some reason it is not on exact zero center which it should be but I think 3DS Max is have problems judging its exact center. The colors are correct, this is a very white building and there is no roof junk that I know of on the tower.

tb016kc.jpg

Rendering this puppy is a cross-your-fingers situation, a lot of problems arise on the size of this model. Its about 999,000 vertices and 1,350,000 faces. So I might just leave it as is. LOT size is 12x9. Very big. No. of storeys 29-43, No. of units 2,158. So if we do some math, lets say 50% 2 people per room: 1079*2 = 2158 + the other 50% 3 people per room 1079*3 = 3237. Add them together 5395 is probably a realistic number for full capacity in Real Life. Regardless of the size of this thing I would place this at no where above 8000. How does 7395 sound? R$$.

Wow. I might suggest you take a second look at the base, though. I think there's more columns, and of a smaller radius than what you've modelled.

Marvelous work, everybody! 4.gif

I thought I'd post some pictures as well... just some humble lot work, but meh- everybody does what he can do... I stuck to the same dependencies that I used for the J.W. Marriott Hotel at Pacific Place and tried to use them to do something good to the Conrad International. Here's the result:

conrad6x6day04uj.jpg

my.php?image=conrad6x6day19je.jpg

And here's the same building at night:

conrad6x6night5fp.jpg

Just in case you want to see some detail views, here they are:

 conrad6x6detail13xd.th.jpg  - conrad6x6detail28eh.th.jpg  - conrad6x6detail39nz.th.jpg  - conrad6x6detail44bv.th.jpg

On a side note, I've successfully grown the Marriott in the meantime (not easy! or bad luck), found an error and fixed it. It should hit the STEX this week.

Hmm, something I just noticed about that BAT (the lot looks great, by the way): the way the reflection has been done, you can see the base of the model reflected in the lower floors; however, behind that all you see is blue sky! This implies that the building is floating in the middle of the sky with nothing but blue all around it. Technically, vertical faces in the SimCity isometric view could NEVER reflect sky. I tend to look at blue windows in BATs as the colouration of the window glass itself and not a reflection of the sky. However, here you leave no choice, since the bottom windows are clearly reflecting what is below them. Just a thought to ponder.
