Is Will Wright gonna have anythign to do with this new SIm City if it is being developed by Maxis?

No, I don't think so. They said he's still at Maxis, but he isn't working on the new SC game. He didn't work on SC4 or SC3K either.

He abandoned us? I don't mean to be rude, but you sound like the member of some obscure sect that has been deserted by their prophet/messiah.

Will Wright is in no way related to us, dependent on us, hired by us, bound by any obilgation toward us, or owing us anything. He is merely a game designer who is free to do anything he chooses, and that's really all there is to say. Moreover, I wouldn't say that SC3K and SC4 were exactly crappy games just because Will Wright was not involved in the development.

Will Wright hasn't really been involved with SimCity for a long time. At present, to my knowledge, he's tangentially associated with EA. But the folks who are involved with the new game are basically the same folks who brought us SC4. Ocean Quigley, Andrew Willmott, etc., though I haven't heard anything about Paul Pedriana.

Will Wright is not the messiah of gaming. He has been great in the past with origination of designs but I believe he has gone on to better things.

If you were a brilliant programmer at age 25, I think you'd find it rather boring by age 35. I sure did. I went on into large scale system consulting and design as well as doing some public service stuff (standards). The nitty gritty of software engineering gets to pall, after a while, and I haven't written any real code in about 25 years. I can still do it, but I don't want to.

I read somewhere that Will stops by Maxis every once in a while and gives them advice and suggestions. He is aware of everything going on there.

Hopfully the Ecomony in Sim Sity 2013 is better, I have to use a Money tree in Sim City 4 just to balence the ecomony.

Will Wright "abandoned us" after 1999, when he focused on The Sims. Eventually though, all of his "babies", SimCity (SimCity Societies), The Sims, and Spore were ripped out of his hands by EA and ruined. I can see why he left.

I doubt it. Wright hasn't been directly involved in a SimCity since SC2K. SC3K and SC4 were both made by Maxis without him and I'd say they turned out fine. He may have founded SimCity, but it's just not something he wants to do anymore, and if he doesn't want to do it, it's best that he not be involved.

We don't know if Will is even lightly associated with EA even as a consultant. All things being equal, I am sure he has moved on.

I think that pennies will disappear instead of dollar coins (which exist) catch on. Then the US will go cashless and a gallon of milk will cost a million credits.

We do not need Will Wright for this game. I use the SPAM and the CAM to get rid of Pedrina Plants altogether except when I download the BSC stage 4 and 5 CAMe farms that uses the building for Pedrina Plants with a factory farm.
