A new lot by Somy: a rural mountain elementary school from the early Showa era.
inaka-gakko.jpg
It is 3x4, does the same job as the elementary school, but is 30% cheaper. Get it here .

That's awesome!  I love how he makes even the smallest things so realistic ... idk, that lot just looks really ... real ... to me.  Like it belongs in the real world somewhere.  I guess I can't say that about too many BATs.  44.gif

If you d\l'd this school just after Armandeus posted you may find that there's no .SC4LOT file in the zip. It's now fixed, same link.

OK, when I try and download those BATs, I try to open them but they are 'corrupt'.

As I answered 2 days ago to your last post, give a specific example and someone can perhaps help.

From what I've been able to pick up, a prefecture is like a US state or a  UK region. The prefectures are sub-divided into municipalities. There are 47 prefectures in Japan.
Happy Christmas.

Thanks to Eddiem, Equinox, Craigsters, and all the others who have helped me out and helped introduce Japanese lots to everyone here. Special thanks to all the Japanese BAT creators. Happy holidays to everyone!9.gif

Just a minor correction, but Somy lists his latest BAT as a high school in English, but in the Japanese he writes that it is a girl's high school, a sort of school where old ideals of women's education were put into practice. This lot, just like the elementary school before it, is based on old (in this case, Taisho era) architecture, and on the old educational system in Japan. You can read a little about the type of school he recreated here  in English, at the website of the Japanese Ministry of Science, Culture, and Education.

Eddiem's description of prefectures is good. You can find more info here  at Wikipedia.

Kaminko created a hot air balloon. Download it here .

Kaminko was even nice enough to release the model for the balloon so those of you who know how to edit it can apply your own textures to it! Get the model here .

Thanks Armandeus, glad you're here to keep us right. I tried some translations of Somy's description but it definitely lost some meanings along the way (try babelfish to see what I mean), so I decided that discretion was better and left it at high school.

Thanks, Eddiem. Somy says (in Japanese) that it is a clinic, sort of like the kind that is attached to the doctor or dentist's house, and is passed down over generations.

Hello Armadeus I wrote to you a while back to ask you if you knew anything about this modd or wahtever it is. I didn't have the picture so you were not able to answer me, well I found the picture in Ragutaro's page, I don't know what they say about it, can you tell me if it is a modd to turn green the ground under the rail tracks and if there is somewhere I can get it from?
Thanks in advance

Hiroshimas Peace Park is awesome but not much use because where does the water go after. But the water texture is AWESOME. Where could we get that?

I think it will be a one-off as it is part of the prop which is the full size of the lot, Same method as Somy used for his harbour\marina.
