I'm having problems with this message composition applet. It doesn't work right in MSIE. It turns all links to that null Simtropolis page, it adds too many lines between paragraphs, and it changes images to <object>. Here is a multipurpose building by Uwason. He says he can't get the lighting to work. Download here ( http://uwason.client.jp/biru.zip ). SNZ made some F-14 Tomcat props. Get them here ( http://kamurai.itspy.com/bbs/data/simedit/1109769214290181/F-14VF-101&103.zip ) and here ( http://kamurai.itspy.com/bbs/data/simedit/1109769214290181/F-14VF-1&31.zip ). -

Thanks for the comments and complements, everyone. And thanks to FosterK for pinning this thread. If you downloaded NOB's Japanese house set, Showa era house set, or traditional Japanese shop set, you should redownload them, because there was an error causing some stage 1 and 2 buildings to not appear. You can get the new files on this page (http://tokitoko.hp.infoseek.co.jp/lot_others.htm). Look for the 4th, 7th, and 11th pictures on the page and download the lots (the download links are in English). Here is a new modern city hall building by 211. It's not a BAT but a lot. It functions as an office building instead of a city hall. Get it here (http://kamurai.itspy.com/bbs/data/simedit/1109756728750963/211_TeitoCityHall_af30f1bd.SC4Lot). -

Sorry, I've been away with acute RLS (Real Life Syndrome) and I haven't been visiting this site till now. I'm glad that this thread is a source of enjoyment for a lot of people. That's why I post here. Here are a couple of new BATs. First, NOB has created this to commend his site recieving 100,000 hits. Congratulations, NOB! Can you guess who it is? I think it would be really cool if he could change the walking robot in the game to look like this. You can download it here . Pahoo created one of those huge electrical towers. It's just decoration, and he says the wires may look odd. Download here . -

Here are a couple of new BATs. First, something from the Japanese comic series Doraemon. It's a camping capsule. SimS created it. It acts as a R$ house. Get it here . http://kamurai.itspy.com/bbs/data/simedit/1107450185879601/camping2.png align=baseline> Shubo created a library based on late Showa era architecture. It is 2x3, 5000 to plop, 250 to maintain, and holds 30,000 books. Get it here . http://kamurai.itspy.com/bbs/data/simedit/1107572124662833/LibD.JPG align=baseline> Shubo also created a hospital, designed in a similar mid-Showa style. The size is 4x3, 5000 to plop, 1200 to maintain, and it supports 3000 patients. The blue strips are solar panels. Get it here . http://kamurai.itspy.com/bbs/data/simedit/1107572660980193/HosD.JPG align=baseline> -

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement! And thanks to Eddiem for beating me to a lot of good BATs as well! Here are three new buildings by Raika, that he made for the Japanese city set project. First, an apartment building called Tokiwa Highrise. It is growable, houses 278, and comes in a 2x2 and 2x3 version. Go to this page and click on Tokiwa Highrise to download. http://raika-s.hp.infoseek.co.jp/images/blog/SS20050122.jpg align=baseline> The second is a smaller apt. building called Fujimino Heights. It's growable, 1x2, and houses 70. Get it at the same page as the Tokiwa Highrise. Click on Fujimino Heights. http://raika-s.hp.infoseek.co.jp/images/blog/SS20050121a.jpg align=baseline> The last is an CS$ office building, the Aoyagi Industrial Center. It is growable, overwrites a default building, is 2x2, and provides 446 jobs. Get it on the same page as the other two buildings. http://raika-s.hp.infoseek.co.jp/images/blog/SS20050121c.jpg align=baseline> -

Date: 1/25/2005 8:55:09 PM Author: ardecila Armandeus, could you please make a post on the SimCity Force BBS? I'd like you to ask Meta if I can release his TMG building here on ST.; I've fixed it, translated, and put it on a lot, but given the recent attitudes seen on that board, I'd like to get permission first. We here at Simtropolis aren't too happy either when our lots are uploaded to the Maxis Exchange without permission, or so I gather. The last post asking him where it can be downloaded is dated last April and there was no response. I will post your question, but I doubt if he will answer. Here is my post. -

211 created a futuristic subway tunnel. It has no function - it's a decoration. Get it here . http://kamurai.itspy.com/bbs/data/simedit/1106658074189512/bat_subwaytun_1.jpg align=baseline> 2chnetSimplayer uploaded a Taiwanese style building to the STEX . http://stex.simtropolis.com/lots/2ch_net%20simplayer/2ch_net%20simplayer_hunanqu%20yangminglu%2023/HunanYangming23.JPG align=baseline> Shubo created two bus stops, local and city. The city one has a roof and costs double and services double the passengers, while the local one costs half and services half. http://kamurai.itspy.com/bbs/data/simedit/1106576650208085/BusStop.JPG align=baseline> -

Date:1/21/2005 5:12:29 AM Author:kinmulder 'Milky way Railway' I think that makes reference to a famous Japanese cartoon in the '70s, roughly translated as...'999: The Milky way Railway'. Similar to a Harrier take-off from a British aircraft carrier, that particular train takes off to the universe at the end of the track. quote> You are exactly right. It's called Ginga Tetsudo Three Nine in Japanese, and Galaxy Express 999 in English. Google search here . Cynshep0500 wrote: Accepting mild scolding in good countenance. I didn't really mean to scold you. Sorry. Cynshep0500 wrote: I certainly did not expect that you should find them for me. Only that should you happen across parks and gardens in the course of your explorations, you might be so good as to post a few here. Sorry, but when I saw your post saying, Parks, please. And gardens, it sounded like a request to find these things now. Anyway, Eddiem and I post everything we find here, so even if we don't keep our eyes out specifically for parks and gardens, we'd still post them as soon as we see them. Two new BATs. First, a sailing ship park by Bripizza. It's a landmark costing 60,000 to plop and 150 to maintain. Go here and click on Sailing Ship Park in blue to download. See what I mean? I'm already posting parks and gardens. Next, Raika created a large house for two family generations to live together, called Estate Mihama. Go to this page and click on the download link after Estate Mihama. -

Date:1/17/2005 2:25:25 PM Author:Dargor I found some nice buildings through one of your links, Armandeus.... but there is no way to download those or so it seems. http://www.geocities.jp/kei_5218443/Jp-Style-1.htm This is the site I found the buildings on... Could you have a look there and find some info, when you've time? My Japanese is not what it should be quote> The answer you seek is on page 31 of this thread. See my third post on that page, and read the text starting with Kei and others. Cynshep0500, unless there is a Japanese BAT web page that I don't yet know about, all of the BATs, including parks and gardens, have already been introduced somewhere in this thread. I know it takes time, but if you want them please look through the thread for them. That's what I would have to do to find them for you, because I don't have the locations of all the Japanese BATs memorized. Keep in mind that some of the old web sites may have closed down, so if you can't download something, it's gone. Good luck. What I can recall is that if the gardens of Japanese castles are acceptable, there are a few here (you will need these props ). If temples are OK, go here . And there are a few modern parks and historical buildings with parks here . I'm sure there's more out there, but I can't remember where. -

Date:1/17/2005 12:27:21 PM Author:eddiem I'll just repost this as it's relevant at this time. quote> Thanks, Eddiem. And congrats on your new title. It turns out there was one misunderstanding. Mine. I thought that the image the poster (who is not Somy) was referring to was the image that Equinox used when he posted Somy's lot. It wasn't. It was the image on this thread (on the previous page) of the SimCity Force post that mentioned Equinox. The poster was commenting that we copied and pasted the post from SimCity Force and that we couldn't machine translate the emoticon at the end. There was no grammatical subject in the poster's comment (as often happens in Japanese when the speaker assumes you know what he's referring to) and I only realized what subject the poster was referring to when he posted again to clarify his first comment. That much was a misunderstanding, and I apologized. I also apologize for my hastiness to you here. The rest of the poster's comment was not a misunderstanding, but the poster offered an apology for his rashness. I think we should accept it and forget about this matter. -

Date:1/17/2005 7:22:13 AM Author:Equinox I was kind of concerned this would come up eventually ... I'm interested to see if and what Somy himself will say in response to this. quote> Somy has posted. There is no problem with my creations being posted at Simtropolis. Just in case, I will say this myself. Thanks, Somy! -

Date:1/16/2005 12:00:42 PM Author:eddiem I could only get: 'Mr Equinox has put it on the STEX at Simtropolis' Perhaps Armandeus can tell us if we're missing something. quote> The post was more like it looks like Mr. Equinox has posted it on the STEX. (The Mr. sounds funny in translation because of differences in language and culture - it doesn't sound odd in Japanese at all.) There were two parts that I think were not machine translatable. The first is where there is a hiragana u followed by a Latin p. This is Japanese Internet slang for up(load). The last part, the part with the parentheses, is a Japanese emoticon. Japanese emoticons are not sideways like English ones. Free online translation sites probably can't deal with this stuff just like they can't deal with 1337 speak. Another member, who perhaps I shouldn't go out of my way to name, was insinuating that Equinox posted it without permission, and didn't even take the trouble to alter the pictures. He insinuated that it is an unnecessary favor, to put it nicely, that people are submitting Japanese lots to foreign sites. He also said that recently it seems that all new BATs get attention at Simtropolis, and that may not be a good thing. It appeared to me that he is insinuating that Japanese lots are only for the Japanese. I explained in reply that I have direct permission from Somy himself for Equinox to post Somy's lots here. I also reminded him that just as Japanese BAT creators make use of Ilive's Reader and other things from sites outside Japan, that people from other countries will download their creations. I reminded him that the Internet has no borders. I then said that Japanese lots are highly regarded and popular. Although I have seen a similar exclusionary attitude like this poster's before on Japanese sites, let me remind everyone that most all of the Japanese BAT creators, like Somy, NOB, Raika, Ragutaro, the administrator of SimCity Force, and others, welcome the attention that you have been giving them. Let's not get the wrong impression of all Japanese BAT creators because of the words of one person. It is possible that there was a misunderstanding - even when two native speakers of the same language write to one another on the Internet, that can happen. I'm hoping that it is. -

Date:1/15/2005 7:26:32 AM Author:Equinox On second thought, does SOMY say anything detailed about the gyoko lot? quote> From SOMY's site: Fishing Harbor 2 This time I am trying again to match the sea with the edge of this lot, which is something I didn't have the skills for earlier. This lot is the largest I've ever made in that it requires an area of 21 by 6 on land as well as space in the sea, and so it is over 10 MB in size.
