I have officaly died by looking at what they have and in a way reading it with AltaVista Translation. They have every form of under-passes streets and one-ways with multipal colors and styles. Differant interchanges Im hyperventalating.

They seem to not like English, but love ST and have everything and it's meaning like how to register and everything 3.gif'

The stuff on this site is really cool, and almost everything from here and Sim City Force seems to work ok in the game.  One pagoda has some prop issue but thats it.  Thought I was getting a conference centre when I got this one but its a football stadium with a transparent roof 9.gif9.gif9.gif

These statues aren't as big as they look on the site, but they're really sweet too!  This thread is so cool!!

BTW WinRar works fine too opening the japanese .lzh files.

winRAR will open .LZH files..........

BTW, I am amazed that not even one of you fellows knew this Jap site, which exists since quite a while. If I would have only known before, I would have posted it longtime ago.
This site has a lot of *kitch* (colourful stuff) and not much of the same quality lots that Simtrop has. Though a few  are outstanding BATs, like 3 or 4 of them.
Nothing much here for me, it is in general the same as here, except some exceptions.
I think Peg once mentioned that site earlier, if I remember right.
The links to the best BATs have been already given above.

If someone would find the download of the fisherman's Marina, please PM me. That is the only one I would like to have.1.gif

I would have to say that there is lots of kitch in the ST Exchange too; it's just that there are so many lots here that it is easy to avoid the kitch. The ST Exchange is more organized and centralized.
There are quite a few innovative Japanese transit lots (road-train underpasses for example) that I believe may predate some of the similar work on Simtropolis.

There's a bug in the TMG building, so the author removed the link.

I modelled that a while ago, but the sheer detail level forced me to stop.

too bad the files at http://briefcase.yahoo.co.jp/dareka789 are all dead because the thing got overloaded.
If anyone has the files from the page http://www.geocities.jp/dareka789/bat.html , gimme them and I will host them in my private server without bandwidth limits.
quote>

I didn't download the files, but when I posted the link here, the page was still OK. The Yahoo page that comes up says the link has been temporarily suspended due to bandwidth usage. I suppose if you try it later on it should be working.

This is not a Japanese page, but one of the Japanese BAT message board posts referred to this page as a source of BAT textures:
http://perso.club-internet.fr/lemog/lemog_textures/acc_textures01.html

Oh, and I checked the fishing marina page again, and it says that although the lot is not available, the creator doesn't mind if people want to distribute it (and his other lots) freely, as long as he (SOMY) is credited.

I don't wanrt to offend anyone when I said that there's a lot of *kitch*.
I meant that for my taste Japanese BATters are too colourful for me with the majority of the lots, also they still have a weakness for giant robots and other toys.34.gif
I have been visiting that site (and other german, french, swedish etc sites) for more than a year(once every month or so), but  I downloaded only 2 lots so far from this one, the inaka-eki and the htin.
A shame that the Marina is not available anymore, does anyone have that one by any chance??

I wish only that they would make more of their own architecture (like temples etc) I just love that stuff.36.gif

I love most everything on that one site link EF posted ... especially that first one ...
If people here were to do that kind of stuff I'd be the first to download.
Ah, well, I guess that's why I'm going to get into the BAT myself.  2.gif
I just love Japanese culture ... I concur, more actual Japanese architecture should be done.

I think its amazing how buildings made by Japaneese, chineese, swedish, etc. are so differrent! Its like even though we are of the same (or very similar) genetic code we have differrent local ideas (people from the USA havesimilar building architecture to those of Canada) but ideas from places far away from each other (Japan's building architecture is very differrent from England) and all these ideas are solely based on culture.

I had to get this out because i just find it mind boggling

Giant robots are somewhat corny, but the genius stuff (like the road underpasses and such) make up for all the gundams scattered about. On the very first site posted, I found some decent-looking canals as well.

They're all very talented artists, I'd love to see some of them bring their work over here.

(I downloaded a couple of the giant robots myself 3.gif)

well, i agree, alot of this stuff is a little too colorful but there is some neat stuff too. i had to have that giant mayor statue- it's already in my CJ. i was thinking though, there is a good source of props here to use in the LE. would that be ethical to use them in a custom lot and make available on the LEX? i think it would be hard to get permission because of the language barrier.

Then you will love this site. It is a bulletin board where you can download lots mainly of Japanese castles and temples.

If you have a specific lot in mind, and we can find the author, then I will offer to ask his permission on your behalf. Otherwise, I think it might be a bad idea (rude, at least) to upload other people's stuff without their permission.

Its the Tokyo City Hall i cant seem to find my way back to where i saw it though. But being from japan you might know what it looks like if not hopefully i or someone else can stumble onto the pic again.

To you and ardecila, I have the lot in question on my computer, and I could plop it in the game, so I'm not sure what this bug might be. PM me with an e-mail address to send to and I will give you what I have.

I don't have any files with a bld extension in my Japanese SC4 folders. Maybe you downloaded a SC3 file by mistake; many of these sites are mixed SC3 and SC4. Correction: Maybe it is a GMAX file.
Why doesn't the board allow me to quote more than one message at a time, even if I type the quote tag myself?42.gif I made a mess of the thread. Sorry, everyone.8.gif Edit: Thanks, Mods!4.gif

If you are addressing me, I thought you wanted a texture, not a mod. I don't know of any mods that change the water texture, but there are some here on Simtropolis that change the color.

WOW, some of the Bat'ers over there are truly world class, Maxis should hire them for SC5. Still haven't figured out how to download anything from the first site though.

The creator describes it as a high tech tower that creates 5000 industrial jobs. He doesn't get any more specific than that. I guess it can be whatever you want it to be.

The lot names and descriptions should show up with garbled ASCII text, because I doubt if you have Japanese fonts installed on your system. Use the Reader or DatGen or something to rename the lots to whatever you want.

Even if the Japanese lots have a garbled title in your game menu, you can still change the lot names for each individual lot in your city.

If you are talking about Sim City Force (which is the first site referenced on this thread), then this is the way to download lots.
First, go here:
There are 6 links in the middle of the page, with the numbers 1-6, (and lots 1-430) listed. Click them (the left links) in turn to see all the lots listed with thumbnails.
For example, on the first page (lots 1-63), you can click on the blue links under the pictures to go to those respective lots on the bulletin board.
The hard part comes next. If there is a link to the DAT, SC4LOT, ZIP, or LZH file under the picture, you can start downloading.
If not, then look for the HOME link in the top right corner of the message that contains the lot picture. It usually leads to another web site where you can get the lot, but each web site may be set up differently. If you still can't find it, ask me and provide a URL, stating what lot you are hunting for, and I will try to help you.
A few lots are not available any more, and lots with NO PRINTING (they mean to say no picture available) are without thumbnail pictures, but often the link to the lot is still there if you look. You will have to use the lot editor to see what it is,  I guess.
Does that help?
