This one is small, but interesting...

The Asahi Super Dry Hall, an odd modern Tokyo landmark made by Masa.

    Asahi Hall

This is also called Asahi Hall or Asahi Beer Hall, and it is the showcase gallery for mega brewer Asahi Beer, whose golden headquarters tower rises behind it.  French artist Philippe Starck created the bizarre Flamme d'Or sculpture at the top, making this structure a giant 1980's landmark on the city's riverfront.  The sensual golden flame has been likened to everything from a rich beer froth to a giant droplet of pee.  Only in Tokyo...

    Here is the real building:

    Temple to Beer

Unfortunately, the BAT does not seem to have nightlights, or at least I cannot seem to get them to turn on, which is a bummer as the real building has spectacular lighting with an array of slick colors on the flame.  On the plus side, the lot does not actually have all the pink plazas shown in the screenshot, so you can plop it from your landmarks menu into the tightest of your Tokyo urban lots.

You can download Masa's Asahi Hall from his website SIM-ISM at http://sim-ism.nsf.jp/  It is primarily in Japanese, but the BAT page is clearly denoted, with the downloads at http://sim-ism.nsf.jp/sim-bat.htm

Enjoy, and please drink responsibly, and definitely not so much that you pee as greatly as the building suggests.

Alright, an embassy for us to directly mingle.  Many thanks 2ch.net simplayer, we will have to post lots of praise and thank you messages there.

We might start with some praise for the author of the Mid-land Square Building.  Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will translate the name (Sananko...Mitsu an koku...arg, I wish I did fully study Japanese in college).  But this new artist has greated another great BAT from the city of Nagoya...

    Kanayama Minami Building

    Kanayama Minami Building

Some quick Google research reveals that this building stands by Kanayama Station and houses the Hotel Grand Court Nagoya, the Nagoya branch of the Boston Museum of Fine Art, and the Nagoya Urban Institute, a non-profit urban planning think-tank..

This great BAT can be found the on the artist's website at http://www3.ocn.ne.jp/~no6081/

The download link there is very straightforward to find.  I can't wait to see what project comes up next.

Hi pnorrell, that is The National Diet Building (????? Kokkai-gijid?) is the place where both houses of the Diet of Japan meet. It is located at 1-chome, Nagatacho, Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo.

Sessions of the House of Representatives take place in the left wing and sessions of the House of Councillors in the right wing.

The Diet Building was completed in 1936 and is constructed entirely out of Japanese building materials.

Sorry can't figure out the author.

Here is the site:BAT Okiba (depository).

The author's name is apparently "Nanashi no boon"...

You must use Internet Explorer to download.

    Requires:

    thedietbuilding.1

    thedietbuilding.2

and thedietbuilding.bat, which acts as an .exequote>

So for anyone that hasn't sorted it out, yet. You have to open a command line, cd into whatever directory you want to build the file in and type the following...

    COPY /B "thedietbuilding.1"+"thedietbuilding.2" "thedietbuilding.EXE"
Exit your command line and browse to the directory you created the executable in and run it. You'll be prompted...really! Click on the ?? (not the ?????) to browse to your plugins and you're good to go.

That is a BAT representation of the ASCII characters which you can se below the picture.

If it is the Diet Building which you cannot download, go to the site  http://ktkr.karou.jp/ right click on the links and save link as/save target as. You will then have 3 files. Double click on the dietbuilding.bat and it will join 1 and 2 to make dietbuilding .exe. Run that as explaine by mike_oxlong 3 posts up

It seems people here are gradually discovering the REAL "Simtropolis" of Japanese SimCity community.....lol

It's not SimCityForce, but 2ch BBS. VIP CITY CJ's, giko-cat statues and tachikoma hashutsujo etcetcetc

Have you ever wondered why Japanese don't do CJ's? They actually do, but it is all hidden 2ch BBS that is so inaccessible from outside.  This http://vipcity.s162.xrea.com/ is the HQ of  the Japanese CJ union "VIP CITY".

Do you really have to do that? It seems to work fine for me if I:

    1. Click on the .bat file

    2. Navigate the resulting .exe to the folder I want it installed and click "ok"

I haven't needed to type in this COPY /B... stuff.

It creates a new folder called thedietbuilding that includes a lot file and a dat file, which I assume is the model. Isn't that it?

Wow! At some point with this thread, could someone set up a 'directory' of some sort? Perhaps after offering reposting into the STEX on behalf of the asian author. But ideally, it would be helpful to have all the stuff referenced in these 80 some pages within a post or two.
