Cool find yarabundi of the website at http://tikitiki.way-nifty.com/hiboiroiro/2006/12/post_5bc8.html

Actually, it is more of an ongoing personal blog site.  Much are still works in progress, so not everything can be downloaded yet, but there are still treasures to be had.  There ZIP files are on the artist's Yahoo!-Japan briefcase.

Here is a picture of the webpage with briefcase download link circled in red:

    The Link is circled

Most of the 11 available downloads I can find are of the artist's Shinjuku skyscrapers and a few other Tokyo-area landmarks.

    Even Fuji TV!

    Fuji TV

    And Shinjuku Park Tower too!

    Shinjuku Park Tower

I know, I know...I don't think mapped textures have been used on any of the models, and the lots could use more lotting and populating, but the physical models are wonderful.  But still, to even attempt some of the buildings!  I'm going to have to set aside the day for downloading again!

So who is the artist?  I must be honest, I am not sure.  The online translators suggests the site is titled "Everyday variety," but we all know what kind of goobledeegook Engrish online translators regularly invent.  I think the artist posted their identity using the kana for the sound "be" but I could be wrong, as I do not speak the language.  Edit:  Nope, I am wrong, the name is likely in full "Isabe" and the website title is probably best called "Hiboiroiro" and cryptography is not my field, hehe.

I'm going to hold my breath and hope that KS makes the uber-cool Roppongi Mori Tower, and then on Christmas drops on us the Kansai airport terminal. In the meanwhile, I'm going to ditch my slow incomplete map of Osaka to make Tokyo with all these great new stunning buildings.

Translation of the link(post within the link) as follows:

This building represents Japan- any foreign Japanese travel guide would have this on their pages without exception (note:sarcasm). You otakus would know exactly which building this is, right boys (note:if you can get this one you're pretty good)?

***this is only an Akihabara-ish building and is not modeled after a real one***

Same as the chinese set, CS$$with growable and ploppable versions.

The folk over at simtropolis don't seem to know Japan from China, I reckon they'll actually use it with the Chinese set...30.gif

    41.gif

EDIT: Odainsaker: The name is indeed Isabe but the website name should be "Hibi Iroiro".2.gif

The Burj al Arab Hotel was made by a German batter, SaM, and can be downloaded here.

It seems KS has BATed the Sears Tower, and it looks wonderful!

I was wondering, could anyone ask KS to please do the Burj Dubai? (I know there is a version by skyscraper on the STEX, but I think it leaves a lot to be desired) Thanks to anyone willing to ask him, and a big thanks to KS if he is willing to do it! 4.gif

I know this is a really noobish question and im not asking for a link or anything, but I forgot, did any of those guys make the Yokohama landmark tower or any of that other minato mirai stuff like the big ferris wheel?

I swore I saw a set of that stuff, or was it my imagination

UKI made a long standing version of the Landmark Tower, which can be found at http://policity.hp.infoseek.co.jp/  The daytime view looks fine in the game, but the Grand Opening nightlights are a bit too much for me.  Maybe someday someone will revisit this supertall building, and maybe even try the tall and funky Osaka World Trade Center Cosmo Tower (I swear that building has a robot head).

I haven't seen anything like the iconic sail-shaped Pacifico Yokohama hotel and convention center complex yet, though it would be so cool.

Hehe, this post looks more like a Christmas wishlist!
