Oh.. my... gawd.....

a PCC ro-ro auto carrier...

what next? a supertanker perhaps? LNG tanker? A big ferry?

I really hope he makes port facilities for these things. A grain terminal, a container dock with gigantic cranes, a car unloading place...

For those who are not familiar with the terms, "Edo" was the original name for pre-modern Tokyo, which was the powercenter of the Tokugawa shoguns from the 1600s to the mid-1800s. Under this last samurai regime, Japan isolated itself from the world, focusing inward while centering its political and ultimately economic life onto Edo, which grew immensely and saw an amazing flourishing of popular native art and culture, perhaps similar in effect as the Renaissance was to Europe. Focused on the crowded city of Edo, the outlook was urban, with themes of city life and city entertainment. This was the golden age of kabuki theater, geisha wards, and woodblock mass printing, and it also saw the rise of the merchant class and consumerization. Many of modern Japan's large department stores, trading houses, and corporate giants have their small-shop roots in this era. "Edo Period" and "Edo Style" refer to this point in time and its art and architecture.

"Nagaya" are a type of row house or long house, where numerous small units shared one long roof with a single long ridgeline. Often numerous dependant families or samurai vassals or a lord could all be uniformly and compactly housed in these, and they naturally appeared in great numbers in Edo. The shogunal city of Edo was built as defensive rings around a castle with multiple moats and defenses, and its crowded lowlying waterfront areas were built over river estuaries, so much of the city depended on a spiderweb of canals and small rivers for transportation, and canal features are prominent in its urban appearance. Being a "fake Edo style," the tall apartments buildings of course are going to be somewhat fantastical, as the only really tall multi-leveled building was the keep of the shogun's castle.

Hmmm, I wonder if NOB is quietly also planning the many daimyo mansions, vast white market warehouses, and bustling urban temples from this era as well.

But I digress, the Kinkaku Ji was made by Ragutaro and is found on his personal BAT download page on his website at http://www.hide-inoki.com/  He has lots of great stuff there, so check it out.

Hi AK, I usually learn a lot from you, and this time it's about time I give you something in return 2.gif

You don't need to resize any pictures, just use the forum tools. When you reply (I mean the normal reply, not the quick reply, you have this tools on the top. The one yellow with a mountain icon is the "insert image" as you most probably know, and has this options shown in the pic bellow (red for english), that resizes the images automaticaly.

pic_resize.jpg

You can also click the lock, to unlock image proportional measures and use different ones, does deforming the image.

I still remember when the forum software version ws upgraded, everyone complained about how diffrent/difficult it was to post, but 7 months later, I can tell you, if all the existent options are well explored, this version is far more powerfull and easy to work with. It's just a matter of time until we all learn all this new tricks. I always be here to learn and to help when possible.

Cheers

Silvio

"Edo" was the former name of Tokyo, used during the... 1600s-1800s, I believe? "Edo style" refers to the Japanese architectural style during that period.

Not everyone. Some people (I'm not looking at anyone in particular now *cough* yeah right...) around these parts are specialists in making a spectacle of themselves due to their permanent gimme gimme, release already, make this, make that, release more, release faster attitude, while they have never worked on anything for the community themselves.

T wrecks seems really angry with people who doesnt make anything and only reply simple words.

well, firstly, not everybody can bat or mod anything.

secondly,if they dont know how to bat,how can they give any professional reply?

I guess for you, they just keep silent and you would be happy?

It's alright for anybody to reply anything,u dont need to blame them.
