Yeah, sorry for the criticism, but it was just ok... It was great and everything, just not WOW6.gif... And this CJ WOWs me everytime!

Overall, this CJ bets all of them. 44.gif44.gif29.gif19.gif48.gif5.gif1.gif16.gif10.gif

The think is that the textures work depending on the temperature and not the elevation itsefl. The game allows 32 temperatures (or 32 elevation ranges) From 31 (sea level) degress to 0 (highest elevation where textures will be changing) . Higher elevations (temperatures) will keep the last textures for the 0 degrees. This is the way (more or less) the mod works. The actual mod is using snow for the 0,1 and 2 degrees. I

Jeroni, how I love Simtropia.

Your attention to detail is just amazing. The blend of rural and natrual is perfect and that mod could have left me to drop my juice all over my keyboard (Wireless too so Ouch)

BTW, I never could seem to get how you managed to make land bridges with the rain mod. It just looks amazing.
I guess I should try something like that. 29.gif

Nik-Nik-

My region has a lot of sea-level water in it that would disappear if I raised the terrain of the entire map...I tried this and it didn't work very well.

But thank you for the suggestion!

Jeronij-

First of all, you can call me just plain old LD, everyone in cyberspace does.

Second, someone else posted tips for modding the mod to allow the snow effect to show up at lower elevations, and because I am wanting to try to learn how to create mods, I think I am going to play around with changing the Temperature value in the mod on my own and see what happens.  If you still want to create a version of the snow mod that works at lower elevations, then go ahead, I'm sure many folks will use it.  And, if my own experiments don't work out, so will I!

<< I take more care from now on...But remember, I am only a human being playing SC4 >>

I think because you are such a gifted gamer and also such a nice person, all us fans of your work might tend to take you for granted once in a while.  We all love so much of what you do with the game that when you do something silly, like we all do from time to time, we all jump on it.

So here's my idea.  In architecture, we have a saying that if you can't fix it, feature it.  So, with the too tall palm tree, turn it into a landmark.  Create a plaque to sit next to the tree that celebrates it as the tallest palm tree in the known universe and how botanists are all confounded by the manner in which it defies all the known laws of biological physics.  Edit the lot the tree sits on so that it draws tourists and so contributes money to the school system (if that's possible...I don't know).  Same with the neon green cacti...an isolated species found no place else on the planet, an ENDANGERED SPECIES the citizens of Simtropia worked hard with the school board to save from certain extinction.  More tourist dollars pouring into the schoold board's coffers...

You already did this with your airplane manufacturing plant, turning it into an alien research center when it was pointed out that there was no way for the planes to leave the factory, so I know you already grasp the basic idea.

We are all creative people here...that's why we play this game.  And while all of our individual levels of creativity vary, I'm certain we can all find ways to suggest imaginative fixes to Jeronij when his own inspiration for creativity is at a low ebb.

Speaking only for myself, next time you do something I think is silly, instead of criticizing, I will try to offer a creative alternative.

Keep up the good work, Jeronij.  I am looking forward to seeing what your son Bastian comes up with, when it's his turn...

I totally agree. However, your CJ's are so unhuman like that we sometimes forget that somebody of flesh and blood is behind them.
I also agree with LD that we should add solutions to critism.
So back to those palm trees and cacti. I would also agree with LD to make something special out of it. Maybe add a greenhouse to it. Maybe you could use Vlakhaas Mall as an inspiration (this mall always reminds me of a big greenhouse): https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=12321

Keep Up the Good work

Another great update Jeronij.  I especially like the round about in 8.02 and the monolith park in 8.03.  Great work.44.gif

Hey, Jeroni.

I haven't had much time to visit Simtropia lately. But I'm really liking your updates, soo much detail as usual. I especially like the last update, 08. The pond looks great with those houses. I am definitely going to have to look in buying a home in that region for a relaxing day at the pond. Really loving the diagnol homes. The highway along the industry looks very nice as well.

Great job, man.

Hi There.
It's been a while since I posted here, glad to finally have time to comment your work of art.
I'm getting more and more convinced of that I should download the plopable water mod. I haven't done that yet, cause I haven't got time to get through the process...

Bonanova is a really beautiful place now. Those residental houses is one of finest original houses in the game, and I'm always trying to get some space for those in my cities.

Let's talk details...I'm getting annoyed of the bridges which doesn't have the Euro texture mod and also the roundabouts. I know there's some euro textures for the roundabout, but they're a bit to old so they don't work in all directions. Bonanova would look even better with these improvments and also my cities.

At last one quick question; When you upload something to the STEX, how big/small must the picture be? I'm sure you'll know the answer. Regards,

Wow! I've been busy with school the last three or two days and you just updated. I understand you are busy with stuff and can't really find much time to do this, but no matter what your CJs are always their best quality. 44.gif Jeronij, do you plan to have any skyscrapers? It's just your last CJ was mostly Urban and not Rural and this one has mostly Farms so far. I really think it doesn't matter if you make Suburbs, Rural, Urban, or Industry communties; they are going to look good. 9.gif

Once again, I am loving it!

I don't do industry much, I never grew up around anything near industrial (country boy), so I just don't know what a good industrial area should look like. But, I imagine that if I was to picture what a good industrial area looks like, that'll probably be it from now on5.gif

Keep up this amazingness, you inspire me and many others every step of the way, and hopefully someday soon, I'll be able to start posting what that inspiration of yours has given me44.gif

Edit: I also meant to say that the mosaic view is really slick....

Jeronij-

Thank you so much for your attention to my bothersome questions, I really appreciate it.  I have downloaded and installed the new Low /Lower snow mod and now my region has snow at it's highest elevations...how cool is that?  I also linked over to the Japanese BATS thread and, while I did not read it all the way through, I can see there is much there I will want to go back and explore, thank you for the link.

I think I now have the tools I need to start my own CJ and am getting excited about starting a new project.  It will be a learning experience for me, so I am hoping folks here who know about custom content will guide me along, as needs be, if you choose to follow along with me on my adventure.

I still have to learn how to host my pics off site and am reading the tutorials about this.  There is much I have yet to learn...part of the adventure.

As always Jeronij, your work is superb and has been, rather obviously, a huge inspiration to me.  It will continue to be.  I will be checking back here daily, as I have from the beginning of this CJ...and I will probably contine to ask annoying questions, hope you don't mind too much.

Lora/LD

Jeroni,

My dear friend, this area is really coming along.  Your skill with MODs, lots, etc. is certainly amazing.  The snow capped mountain MOD is certainly awesome.  I'll be sure to use it, if I ever play the game again.  Truth is, I have been so busy with the Modular Amusement Park Pack and also your project that I haven't played the game is some time.  Matter of fact I haven't really be able to update my CJ lately either.  8.gif

Ok, enough about me... 17.gif thanks for the instructions on building the bridges with the water tiles.  I'll definitely be using this technique soon.  There are actually many area's where I could have used this already and I may need to go back in to the game and update this stuff just because.

The industrial area is certainly dirty, but what huge area would be complete without it. 19.gif  You do such good work on this type of stuff, I don't think anyone will ever top your works.

With that said, keep em coming... 44.gif
