Does your LRM load before or after the NAM. The family props in the NAM make the lights on the street revert back to the maxis ones. IIRC, there should be a Family Blocker in the latest version of the LRM, but this only works if it loads after the NAM.

Actually, i've got another problem: This works for R$ and R$$$ buildings/streets, but for R$$ it still shows the regular Maxis street, im using V4 (If there's a V5,can you link me or send a message?)

I don't think this gets mentioned, but it seems to me this LRM has minor conflict with NAM, if GLR Drag Extension Plugin was installed as part of NAM.

When I installed LRM v5.1 UK set, I noticed some streetlights in residential zone didn't get replaced and none of the streetlights in industry zone get replaced.  No matter how many times I "updated" the street by building new street, those lights always remained as Maxis light.  This only happens with streets, not roads.

I learnt that both GLR Drag Extension Plugin and LRM Override Set.dat  interfere with Type-21 exemplar, so I think there is a conflict.

When I made sure LRM loads after NAM by adding "zzzzzzz_" to the folder name, everything got fixed and all the lights got replaced with new streetlights.  So I think if LRM loads before NAM, the GLR Drag Extension Plugin will conflict with the LRM streetlights override function.

PS: I don't know anything about modding, the above was just my postulation.

It's not the GLR that interfered with the mod: it's one prop exemplar with the DragFAR that causes the problem. That's why it needs to load after the NAM.

Ok, so if LRM needs to load after NAM, does it mean there will be functions in NAM that would get altered by LRM's modding?

    Hi Maarten,

Can you think of any reason why NAM 32 would allow some light poles to sneak back into my city after I blocked them using your LRM?

I took your and things worked perfectly, but after installing the latest NAM I noticed that a few of the buggers are starting to pop up along my streets once again:

    LRM%20question.jpg

I placed these (altered, with missing resource key) files in the z__NAM folder to ensure that they are loading after NAM:

    -LRMv4Lights_ST_$$$_USA_CBD.dat

    -LRMv4Lights_ST_$$_USA_Gen_S.dat

    -LRMv4Lights_ST_$_USA_Gen_S.dat

(I just noticed your signature .gif says LRM5.1 - do I need to get the latest one?)

    Thanks!

    Hi Maarten,

Thank you for your wonderful Work with the LRM. There does seem to be a bug though with the full customable pack. The swedish "Göteborg" lights does not appear in-game, and I wonder if someone else has previously pointed out the problem and got some files? If that is not the case, is it possible that I could simply get all "Göteborg" files for a manual installation?

    Best regards

In what way don't they appear in game? Do you see a brown box or do you see another type of lamp model? IIRC, I think I made a mistake by switching the two around on the plopable lots and never corrected that...

They simply don't appear - instead, another Swedish style shows. I have tried switching the two during the installation, but the other model shows up no matter what. It is not the ploppables, though I have noticed a switch between two of the Swedish lights in the ploppable Swedish pack. But Again, my problem is with the full LRM mod.

Hmm, I can only find the small sets in v 5.1; not the huge package with custom installation. :)

That's correct. The big installer deemed to be too hard to maintain and not easy to understand. The new version, with small packages is much easier to install and to maintain.

But can I manually choose the Göteborg files fra the Swedish pack and install them as I wanted to with the LRM 4.0?

I guess I'll have to live without the Göteborg lights in my cities, but thanks for your time! The LRM is still a work of art.

    Hi Maarten,

    1. Sorry for my english.

    2. Nice work, I love your mod.  :D

I installed LRM Commie Set v5.1 and I noticed that there are some type of streetlights with orange light (sodium lamp). East Germany streetlights worked with mercury vapor (white light). How could I change the color to make it more realistic?.

And I wanted to ask something else. I want to change the type of streetlight that appears in $ streets. Any file editor for it?.

    Thank you.

This happens because the LRM mods the lights to make them brighter and give them a wider area of coverage. As a result, the light props on certain lots are replaced, and often the result is light overkill because the lights were placed in such a way to look best with the vanilla lights, but they are too close together to look good with the LRM.

The only I can think of to fix this would be to open up the offending lots in Lot Editor and re-arrange the light props for a better result.

After reading all of the info about this download I decided to try both the v4 and the 5v.  I can honestly say I LOVE the v4!  I like the way I'm able to mix up dif lighting options.

Yes... a few of the lots are to bright (not many at all) and yes, the game does crash when you plop a couple (not all) of the lights down that are listed in the parks menu.  I found a very easy fix to this however.  Just don't use those ones! lol

I create 3D design for other games and I know you had to put in a ton of work on this.  My hat goes off to you!  WELL DONE!!! 5 stars all the way!!!
