    I like it so far!

But i also think that the base should be changed somehow.Right now i think it's too wide in comparison with the tower.

Maybe you might make it thinner, and add two nice alleys on the back?

Or maybe you might make it smaller, and then raise it from the ground, so you will get a large, all open plaza under the building, like in Yamasaki's One Woodward avenue.

Oh, and maybe it might be a good idea to clad it with glass (maybe a kind of class that looks different from the one used on the tower?) rather than with stone or concrete.

hi @all, thank you so much for the comments...

    @skyscraper241: I've done it :thumb:

@Francis90b: Yes you're right, but the base of real tower are concrete walls.... :ooh:

I've worked on the roof and that is the result.....

I hope you like it :)

The roof looks fantastic, however I'm still not convinced on the glass and I think it might be down the the ground pane texture you are using and some settings with the glass. Are you able to post the texture you use for the ground pane, the glass looks too fuzzy and not enough going on from glass pane to glass pane.

This has potention to be fantastic, the modelling is fantastic.

I made a quick count of the floors in a real life picture and don't seem to match with your model. In the real life picture I counted 20 floors before extruding section that includes 3 more floors and finally 7 more after this section. From your model I get 14 2 and 8. I did this really quickly but I recommend you to look at this carefully.

That is pretty impressive skyscraper. I have been a fan of your work ever since you worked with GMAX. Now your buildings look even better with 3ds MAX.

    A few points:

Asphalt texture needs some dirt and grease stains and the noise is too big (almost look like gravel).

Grass and parkway textures too saturated.

Parking access ramps look incredibly narrow.

Parking slots not uniform in size.

Covered areas of the parking slots look too low.

Columns at base look misplaced, specially the ones in the corners.

The extruding part of the building could use a better texture and if I remember correctly there are some concrete pillars visible that link the main building and the extruding section, at the moment that hole makes the building look hollow.

But it is coming along pretty nice

Great job! Love the modelling so far! Keep it up!

But here's probably one of the biggest contributions when it comes to realistic texturing...

Use the "Arch & Design" Materials rollout, don't use Standard. Standard is pretty much good for nothing (including mat materials)... So yeah!

It takes some getting used to, but once you get a grasp on how to texture more efficiently in Arch & Design, you'll no doubt have better looking materials.

I might be mistaken, but the glass looks like a Standard Material, Try an Arch & Design material and tweak it similar! (:

By default, the "reflection color" is white, but try making it grey instead. It should basically add a grey tint to the reflections. Then you can increase the contrast of the ground plane a bit to balance it out (because you wouldn't need to compensate for the grey tint as much in your ground plane texture as you would before). This way the reflections of the ground plane and the reflections of the rest of the BAT (the parking area for example) will blend together better.

Even though I wrote that tutorial and even though my own glass turned out ok, I'm still not really sure how to make that kind of glass, but I think changing the reflection color might be part of it.

Thanks so much for comments...

Yes you're right. I've made the reflection color from white in light grey. Here are picture with 2 versions - before and after, what do you mean...

Do you like the new style?

I hope it was that, what you mean... ^_^ ^_^

    Thanks for replies...

Looks waay better! But your reflections seem a little weak! Perhaps a map like this, or something similar will spice it up a bit!

    SubdividedAerial.jpg

Also play around with the reflections and custom IOR! (:

Really like the lights on this one (assuming the parking garage just hasn't been lit yet)and I like the after version more, it is a more realistic color if you ask me. Keep up the good work!
