Diggin' the farms, hun ! 3.gif

As well- I like the suburbs (especially the last pic... 36.gif) and all the high-tech stuff that Devlin (..erm, Aydina) features (I will most likely continue to say Devlin, even though it's not Devlin, I'm not sure why- but, ya' know; like that giant flower-plant thingy in the second to last picture).

I love the superimposed (that's what it's called right? 41.gif) signage on the first couple of pictures; very fancy (ish). 3.gif

I used a lot of smilies in this reply. 3.gif

I get and will always get super, insanly, totally, completly jealous when I look at this because I could never do anything close to this. Your CJ and building style is exactly what I wish I could do. I will defenitly be looking back here to see this amazing region grow and develop. 44.gif

DROOL! Ugh, I really need to master the use of all the NAM goodies like you...I just can't figure out the awesome turnlane pieces sadly 15.gif Hopefully when I get to building freeways, I can figure out all the RHW stuff 4.gif

Great signs in your pictures. I love the roadgeekery.

This journal is gonna be in my favorites. You have an amazing roadgeekery and your signs are perfect.

Just wondering. I was taking a close look at one of your signs. What does TaPH mean?

Woo! I'm loving Aydina! Especially her highway system. God those are some beautiful interchanges. I really should experiment with those kinds of designs.

    I'm loving what I'm seeing! 9.gif

Great update!  Those are some nice interchanges... simple and elegant.  I'm no roadgeek, but those signs are a nice added detail that give some context to the images.

Good looking map too.  Rhombus Drive, Rectangle Drive, Square Boulevard... great names! 9.gif

TSX has the best name ever. 3.gif

In an effort to not totally be uncreative and just repeat the "wow! Awesome!" comments you've already gotten, I'll just point out that the hightechy powerplant thingy is obviously a giant laser cannon. Definitely. 3.gif

Your work is Amazing, I really love your region and your farming area also. But my favorite pic is from the satellite dishes and the strange industrial building near them. Could you give me a link pls. It looks fantastic.

    dfnva: Thanks Dan!

Norby(ToG): Thanks! As for those, the big flower thingy is Japanese... SOMY Microwave Rectenna Plant, and the dishes are by SFBT.

    Benedict: Thanks Ben!

Chptrk: Indeed... we gotta stop with these secret names 3.gif And I applaud your effort and say that you are indeed correct... but nobody knows that 38.gif Oh look! Papaya!

    BoserF: Thanks!

Algis242: Thanks! I will... or already am 3.gif

Psander5: Thanks Paul! I'm not always a crazy sphaghetti interchange person 3.gif And that was what I was going for, so good to hear it works! And I know I have good naming skills... take "TSX" for example 3.gif

Archean: Thanks Mike! I try my best 3.gif And go ahead and use them if you want, I don't mind if people do.

Nicebutevil91: Yay! I'm quite flattered 3.gif TaPH stands for tycae per hour (singular tyca), or ~2.605 MPH. Though, as the next update explains, units are a little weird in Aydina...

Packersfan: *Mops up drool* Hey, it all takes practice. As for the turning lanes, plop them on top of existing. And there is a learning curve, but, with a blank city tile and practice, you'll get it.

Malibu_man: Aww, thanks 3.gif You just have to work and develop your style, till you like it but its uniquly yours.

Ecoba: Thanks Ethan! Glad you like the suburbs, and it is kinda tough to differentiate between the two CJs 3.gif Just remember Aydina = green banners and Devlin = blue banners. And yes, superimposed, thanks 3.gif And yes you did 3.gif

    Phew... that was a lot.

A region map, for your convienence

    aydina_2011_01_23_map.png_thumb.jpg

And cuz its about time, AyDOT has a logo now!

    aydot_logo_02.png

So first off, we're starting in Wilmington. Yeah, we just drove from Sand Run all the way here on the Capital Beltway and the Trans-Aydinian Turnpike without pics or anything, but, its my CJ and I can do what I like thank you 3.gif

    u3_wilmington_exit01.jpg

The Wilmington Service Plaza along the Turnpike

    u3_wilmington_reststop01.jpg

As we drive another 30 tycae or so on h27.png (note: 1 tyca > 1 mile, but 1 TaPH < 1 MPH. Don't ask how, its just like that), we arrive at Interchange 84 with h64.png at Aoiya Lake.

    u3_aoiyalake_highway01.jpg

We take the exit and after paying our toll, we drive through the lakefront area of Aoiya Lake

    u3_aoiyalake_development01_2.jpg

Closer look at the historic ship and carousel

    u3_aoiyalake_development02.jpg

We'll come back to the turnpike, but for now, we're gonna follow h64.png a bit more.

As we exit the town, we're greeted by this sight

    u3_windwood_highway03_2.jpg

    As we cross the tunnel...

    u3_windwood_highway02.jpg

    u3_windwood_highway01_3.jpg

We return to the turnpike, heading east... and look! Its the East Gate welcome plaza!

Very nice terraforming. I like the way you have laid out the interchanges with a lot of space: very realistic. The road signs are a great touch also.
