I don't really use Twitter. I signed up at the badgering of a friend who was not on Facebook but is an extensive Twitter user. Then she joined Facebook and even though she doesn't really use it I now no longer see any reason to be involved with Twitter.

I'm on Twitter just to see NHL rumours and news.

I search the web for rumours & news for the NHL. The site I visit most though is dedicated to my favourite team (HockeyInside/Out, covers the Canadiens) - it has some good info. Especially during the season, great game coverage.

The thing is, you don't need to have a Twitter account to view people's tweets unless they've got their account set to private and you need to be an approved follower.

The key is to not share publicly. My twitter is locked - you can't see what I say unless you follow me, and you can't follow me unless I let you.

Similarly, manage your privacy settings on Facebook and be cognizant of who can see what you're posting. If there's a group of people you might not want to see certain things (like, say, your parents), make a list that excludes them and share only with the list rather than with all your friends.

I gave a speech today in class. It was an informative speech on Autism. I earned 89 points out of 100 because I read my friend's testimony verbatim and went over time.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

I did a speech back in May about how the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey abuses their power in the Bi-State area and is being untruthful in the rebuilding process of the WTC. I only got 88/100 because I was relying on a visual aide too much.

Oh geez, it's been a while since I've had to give any sort of presentation solo. Don't do it for work, so it was college... I gave a very fun and silly presentation about Gustav Lindenthal. Got an A on it, after having created a lot of hype because the entire class was curious who I would present on but I refused to tell anyone ahead of time (and then, the night before, my professor prematurely let the cat out of the bag in an email to the whole class... grrr...).

I hate doing presentations/speeches. I'm shy enough as is, but put me in front of an audience and... oh boy.

However, I gave an oral report on solar energy last year, and with preparation, I got somewhere around a 98%.

EDIT: Numbers, check your numbers! :P

I wonder if I even get a good mark. I'm terrible at presentations. Though my out of school drafting competitions helped a lot :P

EDIT: Sniped! :|

I never liked giving presentations until I got to college, and would go out of my way to avoid it in high school. When I was there, I felt like it was just an assignment and that it was fine just to get it over with, but I sat through some very BAD presentations and realized that not only did I not dislike doing them, I was actually quite good at it, especially compared to the stuttering, meandering, pointless messes that often surrounded mine. That's not to say I am awesome, like a Jedi Master of the presentation or whatever, but the same could be true of yourselves: you're decent at it and just haven't realized it yet.

I wouldn't say it's a matter of being good at it but not having realized it yet as it is a matter of improving with experience. And perhaps also improving when you gain more confidence about it.

Upgraded one of my Hotmail accounts to the new platform - Outlook(.com). Must say I actually like it - very clean and simple design. Can definitely see some parallels to the design of Windows 8 .

I have, let's see, one, two.... Used to be three when I was a college student, but no longer, just the two, although one rarely gets used at all anymore, so really just one. My wife has like a million, but she changed her name when we got married and then got new email addresses to match.

It's nice being able to use different accounts for different things, My Yahoo account is a spam bucket. Some website needs my email address for no particular functional reason other than so that they can send me spam? Give 'em Yahoo.

My Yahoo account is for facebook, and has recently started filling up with random spam. Hotmail is for personal use, as is my gmail. I also have 2 accounts related to gaming/forums, but those are only for registration. Don't log into them often. When I upgraded one of my hotmail accounts I opted to keep @hotmail.com, instead of changing it to @outlook.com...
