Until such time as the industry realizes that DRM is stupid, I doubt I shall be buying any new PC games by any means. Anything with DRM is banned from my computer. I bought the PS3 version of Duke Nukem Forever rather than the PC version for exactly this reason.

And I think I'm back to SC4 once again! (Formally Tommy7777-changed username)

So, how is everyone doing?

EDIT-This happens to be my 500th post.

I've been keeping stats continually updated the whole time, it's just been a while since I've uploaded them.

On another note, am I the only one who finds the fact that people can change their usernames now to be rather annoying? It creates confusion (if Tommy hadn't said who he was, I would have had no idea) and makes for headaches in record-keeping. I've kept exactly the same name here for nine years and had no objection to it.

I should update my stats sometime soon :P

Had surgery today on both my big toes, so weird, I was talking to the doctors in the surgery room and then I woke up in another room.

At least I could sleep-in beforehand and have ice-cream after it :)

@Master: Ouch. I hate hospitals and surgery. I get squeamish when I see blood.

I had eight teeth pulled earlier this year - four regular teeth and all four molars. Having the teeth pulled wasn't the bad part; it was before the surgery, when the nurse was putting an IV in my arm. She put in one arm. It didn't work. She put it in the other arm. It didn't work. She tried again in the first arm, and it finally worked. In the end, I came out with holes in my arm and holes in my mouth. I was like Swiss cheese.

I am so glad that I hate cola and hard candies. I have only had 3 fillings and my wisdom teeth removed.

Hospitals scare me.. Especially when there's sharp tools in the same room, the bio-hazard and poison markings on most things in sight and other machinery. Last time I went in was about 3 years ago to get my wisdom teeth pulled. Before then I had to go under twice because They had to reset bones that were growing together crooked. I hope I never have to go in again.

I've been lucky enough to have only had to go to a hospital a couple of times. Excluding when I was born, I've had to go to a hospital once when I was a lot younger, once for my mom, and several other times for my late grandfather. That was a horrible experience. I think going to the hospital for a loved one is worse than going for yourself.

Everything about hospitals is intimidating. The rooms, the hallways, the sharp tools, the machinery; even the smell is foreboding.

Sorry Duke, I just found Tommy to be old and a representation of a younger me. And I use this username across the board.

My username here was originally Ilikeseattle but I changed it to OcramSeattle after name changes became possible to change my displayed name because I often go by Ocram or AzemOcram elsewhere since I stopped caring if people know my real name.

To some degree there is a matter here of identity changing as one gets older... I'm sure lots of people go through that. I haven't found it to be the case. I'm just as cool with people calling me "Duke" at 24 as I was at 15. I was similarly cool with it when I was 9. But then again, the name has no childlike connotation to it, so it admittedly ages better than something like "Tommy" might.

Although, there is a reflection of a deeper aspect of maturation at play. Lots of people, when they get older, look back at things they liked when they were younger and say "god, I can't believe I actually used to like that!". I don't feel that way about anything. There are certainly things I've lost interest in as I've gotten older, but even if I've lost interest in something, I still always remember it fondly. There are no former interests of mine which I have grown to hate or have anything whatsoever against. And I can't imagine why I would. Simply outgrowing something is not cause to turn against it.

And then there are the things which I just refuse to outgrow. I will never stop drinking chocolate milk! Never! :P

I wish I could change my username or at least remove the 945. The only reason I have the 945 is because "MamaLuigi945" is my Steam username (it added the 945), and I originally joined ST just to download mods.

"MamaLuigi" comes from my obsession with watching YTPs, like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yacqVp39e98. (It's SFW) Yes, I'm entertained by videos like that.

My 87 has significance. It's the year I was born.

And anyways, there's already someone else here with the name "Duke" (though I don't think he's ever posted), so I couldn't just take that.

Originally, when I was going to join ST, I was going to register as x_link, because it sounded cool. But when I registered I changed my mind and made it sim_link, because this is simtropolis, and I play a variety of sim games.

If I were to change my username, it would be to remove the "_", or change it to just simply to "link", which is what some people (inlcluding myself recently) have started shortening my username to. Barring those, H09 is also something I would change it to, it is a derivative of what I go by in the The Sims 3 community.

But for now, I don't think I will change it. It's fine the way it is. :)

When it comes to display names... I got three (and subversions) while actually 2 only are used on my active accounts lateley. My other frequently used display name is 'Tigrar'. Skimbo can be found as SkimboDragon as well. My third is Saphir. (Or again, Saphirdragon).

Not only have I not changed names, I haven't even changed avatars. Why bother? I like this one anyways.

Also, my 4 year old Acer laptop finally blue-screen-of-death-ed me. It's working now, but who knows for how long? So I' trying to back up files and switch them to this here new one. Any suggestions to speed this up for me?

The only change I'd make to my username is capitalizing the "a". It's starting to bug me a little.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Are you sure? I remember you changing it at least once, albeit for a short amount of time.

I honestly cannot remember. It is entirely possible that I changed it for like a day or a week or whatever, but this one has been the main one for darn near 4 years now, I think. I know there was one I used before this, and there may have been one before that even, but I cannot remember.

I am "Duke87" on pretty much every forum I register with, unless the name is already taken. I'm "Duke87ofST" on YouTube. There have also been a couple of sites where I've registered as "feransasga" - one way back in the day because I knew if my mother found out I was there she would forbid me from going back (DeviantArt), another because there was already a prominent member of the community there going by "Duke".

Of course, I have another username which I use for more formal official functions, and yet another one which I use on Facebook and Twitter.

Most of the places I register to require my email address. I don't have a YouTube or Photobucket (though I plan to get them later on) leaving Simtropolis as the only one with a usertag. I think I had some usertags in the way past but I have no memory of what they are.
