Yes Nono, you see how much you have improved!! Please now that you're almost there, don't rush.

I know everyone is going to hate me for saying this, but I have to. You are making one of my favorite buildings in NYC, and I wouldn't be a true friend or even a good one, if I wasn't honest with you.

Imho, day render materials still look very cold! And there are patches where bricks take some strange blotches of sudden dark color. In order to be as helpful as I can, I will put a material of bricks, given to me by Jasoncw which I have reworked for this purpose. I used eyedropper tool in photoshop to get the color right. Also this 1000px X 1000px image should cover about 64 meters of length (?) but you can tweak that for your needs:

LySj5vH.jpg

Now, THE CROWN THE CROWN THE CROWN is the CROWN. It comes on top of it all and is the thing that makes or breaks Art Deco (and imho any that has it) building. So it needs a lot of your attention. Here's what I need you to pay attention to: Different limestone colors on the crown and where they are. ALso the warm tones of the limestone. I painted yet another picture to be as helpful as I can:

Anything along these lines (tweaked of course) would be great! I like your BAT very much as it is now, but I have to torture you to get your maximum on this one, and I promise I'll give you a break on the other ones :)

ps you can PM me if you need any more assistance with the further tweaking of the textures.

I think the day render looks good, but I have to agree with vlasky, textures on the day render dont look quite there yet... to me, the building's textures are lighter... it looks too dark to me...

So much better... now thats what Im talking about... looks really good... And indeed, it is very difficult because as you said, it depends on the pic you are looking as reference, but so far, looks way better than before

I think the building looks really outstanding! When did you start with the AI project?? I think its the work of a lifetime.

I really appreciate the comments of Vlasky, for the colors. These art deco structures are a big big challenge, but I think you've done a great job! Im just going to sit back and watch while this building is almost finished? Where i can help i want to, but i thik youre almostdone!

Good luck with the last things, You can do it!

^ :P Brace yourself, Vlad's comments are coming...

On a side note: That building next to 40 Wall Street (Schwab Building?)... how big is it in SimCity tiles? I'm asking because I think it's a lovely piece of architecture in its own right and might be a good candidate for 'recycling'...

Thanks guys, I think, American International is ready for export now :)

@Vlasky: Thanks and your help is welcome, it's yet difficult for me to reproduce the real color of this old buildings.

@T Wrecks: Thanks, the Schwab Building is planified to be exported in a separate lot too. And the Sim City 4 lot size should be 1x3 tiles

Great! To be honest, that's precisely what I estimated/hoped, but then I thought "Nah, come on, that would be too good to be true - you just see what you want to see, that's what's going on here", so I asked. All the better to learn it will actually become a BAT on its own! :golly:

Remember when I said I'm about to torture you on 40 Wall Street? Yeah, well, that time has come :P

First off, your model, as I am sure you're aware of, is quite a simplified version of the actual building. And believe it or not, it does show, all the shadows and shapes don't have the impact they would if there were there. And I know that you're ready to fix that, because that's what you did with the roof once I pointed it out. Yet the spire of the roof still needs work:

    The-Trump-Building-at-40-Wall-Street.jpg

Than there are all the spandrels near the top, but also near the base that need detailing and many things. If you need me to, I'll point out every single of them, but maybe you just didn't have resource pictures that you need for them. So I'm just going to post pictures now and if there is still a need for me to point things out, I will.

Beware, lots of pictures are to come:

and please please read this Landmarks Preservation Commission's designation report:

     http://www.nyc.gov/html/lpc/downloads/pdf/reports/40wallst.pdf

There are very useful pictures in the end of that document, but more importantly all the info on materials that we'll be using once we get to the materials (and their colors). But that will come after the modelling part is finished :)

    Thanks guys :)

Actually, I export the day version of the American International, and after some check of the night version, I'll start the final export for the night version and I'll begin the loting and settings.

@Vlasky: Thanks Vlasky for awesome pictures, it's an great help as always ;) . Like the American International, I've use the old model, and just fix some details. but since several days, I thought re-modeled all the building, like you say too many errors are visible and also attack my eyes :)

@Edwardjeria: Thanks . Of course, the US flags will be done ;) , as props, and like the Sherry Netherland, you can choose on several versions, with or without flags ;)

I'm not sure if you should remodel the whole thing or just fix the details that are wrong. That's up to you. If old model is too messed up, than a fresh start might actually be easier to do. But only you can know that :)

Hi guys, and thanks all for your comments.

I've already start the modeling of the 40 Wall Street. It's an difficult tower with a lot of pillars and windows columns ;) . I've not yet do a render for the moment :) .

Here an small render of the night version of the American International view from the north, the day export is ready like orthogonal and diagonal :D, and the building should be uploaded in the next week... I hope :P:)

I'm not sure, about the green house lighten from the inside. Maybe I should turn off the light :D

Looks pretty good to me, but I'm not one for absolute realism, I'm sure the others can help you with that though.

Your transformation into a seriously awesome batter has been a pleasure to watch. I may have to do an entire america styled city/region just so I can use the great BAT's you and Aaron churn out...
