So as you build Ferrum City do you focus on an area, get an idea of what you want and then go to the lot editor to specialise the area, OR do you just build up the area with the mods you have?

Wow. That is a huge city you're building. I'd like to see more detailed photos of that river corner, with the park tower. I see the start of a freeway with the bridge. Looks great, I look forward to more.

Ln X - Thanks! They way I'm building it right now is, I work on one area, then I see what I need to make in LE to finish the area, then I work on the next area. Then I go into Le and make everything I needed from that last session.

I love everything of these updates except one thing... I think you should get a nice train skin mod according to that environment. The Maxis default one hurts my eyes.

 

Let me highlight the lotting of that Seoul stadium, not many people uses it, as it is Maxis stuff, so superb job with that!

Here is an overview so far. 

 

I think I'm going to fill the outer edges with suburbs, then work in some low density commercial and industrial as I work my way in.

That's a very nice downtown you have there and the bridges are nicely placed, maybe where you have labelled as suburbs you could do a midtown, something similar to bronx would be awesome! Great work, can't wait to see the finished city!

I like the tall buildings. They are neatly arranged.

I think the suburbs should be filled with rowhouses (brownstones ala New York style) and it would be griddy but it would really add to the inner city feel, while low density housing should be placed in the outer third of the city tile. If you are going to have industry then make sure it is partitioned from the residential with a lot of trees and other fillers.

Love that last picture! And I think the suburbs the right of the river should be rowhouse/townhouse type houses along with the industry, and the suburbs to the left of the river should be single family homes

This update was great, the update before that was great, the rest of the updates were also great, this topic is great!

 

BTW I think you maybe should make a big shopping center or something, and around that some american suburb houses.

Hi everybody, I just wanted to give a status update.

 

If you've followed this CJ long enough, you know I'm no stranger to computer troubles. My computer crashed again in the middle of December, so I've been without it since then. If anyone here is good with computers let me know if you can figure out whats wrong with it.

 

I am pretty sure the data/memory on there is still able to be saved, which is good news for Ferrum City and Stone Creek. I would love to be able finish the city with your suggestions. Due to money, I'm not sure when the computer will be back up, but I will keep everyone posted.

 

Thank you all for making Stone Creek the 6th best/most popular CJ of 2014, and let's hope for an even better 2015!
