mightygoose: I do not intend to use RHW or a freeway. It is intended for use in non-freeway arterial roads, although it can be used on freeways with proper over- or underpasses.

Also, the ramps can be compacted and bended to fit the situation.

Like this:

Perhaps it can be done with RHW's when v21 comes out 4.gif

Also, some new information on the turbine interchange.

The cars come from 3 directions, and the turbine works superbly and effenciently.

Here is where the South stream turns into the tunnel:

And where all 3 streams merge westbound:

That's all for now.

un1: I'd like to see some pics of that windmill myself. About the editing, I got some advice at the SC4D picture contest about shadowing.

I also don't think it's a mosaic. It's the same resolution as Hal's standard snapshot, but you never know 22.gif

Haljackey: I like your cloverstack interchange. I might attempt to build one myself, if I have enough room in a rural part of my region 16.gif

I'm working on some things I can't reveal yet, so keep on showing 'em!

Well here is my first interchange with the new RHW w/MIS.

    NewHorizon-Interchange01.jpg

    And an off/on ramp.

    NewHorizon-Overpass01.jpg

I know I'm missing textures for Walmart. I've just been to lazy to go get them.

Let me know what you think of my interchange.

    Thanks,

the one way comming of the mis looks kinda funny. the mis will connect to the avenue and look better if you just drag it all the way thru. the clover leaf in the 1st pic looks great.

    Question, NCW:

Why do you convert your MIS to OWR in the interchanges where it meets the avenue? MIS can intersect AVE just fine.

    Perfect cloverleaf though. 44.gif

EDIT: Me and tahill said the same thing at the same time... 42.gif

Yeah I know the MIS will connect to the avenue. But i use the one way so I get stop lights at the intersections.

I was also wondering if there will be puzzle pieces made for RHW over RHW, that way I don't have to use the avenue puzzle pieces for my bridge?

    Thanks,

    NCW

NCW, ERHW is in development (very early stages) here, and will probably be released in version 22 or 23 of the RHW, along with an MIS-OWR transition.

You may need to go back a few pages in the link, and there are pictures of elevated RHW.

Great interchanges, guys! Especially the gigantic RHW interchanges, they're simply amazing. This makes me feel really bad for my 90 degree elbows on my roads...15.gif

EDIT: Darn, apparently you can't copy/paste emoticons.

numbchuckwoods: Pretty nice interchange. It's a full cloverleaf with collector/distributor roads. I haven't seen one here until now.

Also, I have upgraded my windmill interchange to seperate right-turning traffic from left-turning traffic:

    54843183xc7.jpg

Here is a diagram showing the seperation:

    1abd1.jpg

For freeways, the at-grade intersections can be removed and replaced with an over- or underpass.

About a week ago I built my first cloverleaf with collector/distributor roads.

    25161767sm6.jpg

In this case, the express road is a Maxis freeway, and the local lanes are RHW.

If traffic gets high and capacity or weaving becomes a problem the ramps can be upgraded to two lanes, or a semi-directional ramp can be added on the turn with the highest traffic, as showed on this interchange in Maryland:

    80416580mk0.jpg

That's all for now. Show us some more interchanges!

Patricius Maximus, not to be nitpicky, but on that Google Earth picture the ramp you're talking about is the big looping one right? If so, then if you look carefully, you'll see that it is actually just the inside ramp from the NE of the cloverleaf, they just didn't have room for the regular ramp.

Pretty cool cloverleaf though. I can never get the FHW and RHW to look right together.

Weaving is what we call the action of cars having to change lanes in a short space in order to avoid an exit or to get into an exit after an off ramp. The action that occurs between where the loops of a Cloverleaf Interchange is as example of weaving.

Well, that is the function of the big looping ramp. It acts like the NE loop ramp, but provides a faster and more direct route to their destination. Also, they don't have to weave with the other traffic in the NW loop ramp.

    Hope that clarifies it.

I present to you a HUGE 4-way interchange!

This interchange is rather large for a city, but it is skinny and doesn't weave. I believe it would work well in heavy-traffic urban environments because it doesn't take up a lot of space width-wise (just length-wise), has limited highway access, and (again) does not weave.

It would be cool if you could give me some feedback on this!

It looks like a good interchange in the drawing but all the other pics are just red X's. I'd like tto see it when you fix the problem.
