I don't believe they were able to acquire an agreement with retailers in North America in time for the launch... I believe they're still working to get in stores over here in the future though. It is available online, through the CitiesXL website and Steam.

I can't seem to find my posts, they are either getting deleted or moved.   Why is that?   How do you build a GEM and what happened to the people that were interacting with the lots in one of the later DEMO's/Beta?   Now you don't see anyone on the lots?

I have buisness hotels in the city and holiday hotels near the city but not to close, if i go under the hotel tab in the top bar it tells me i need construction areas for hotels in the city, i already have hotels in the city i dont know how i build construction areas.

I have done all the tutorials, but still i only make money when i start creating a new city, later on i have to build new things, i only build the small ones first i dont have any expencive building so far but my - cashflow is still going up.

I don't know if it is me, but sometimes I feel that the buildings like Fire Stations, Police Stations, Educational and Health buildings have a poor influence. If there is a part of the city that is unsatisfied about the health (orange - red) and I place a Health building, like a clinic or a hospital, the citizens stay unsatisfied. The speed that they go from unsatisfied to somewhat content (greenish yellow) or happy (somewhat dark green) is too low for me. People don't want to live in an area where the clinic is too young.

The problem is that the clinic has maintenance costs, but the effects are too little. I must bulldoze down the clinic to decrease the money loss, or to increase the income...

What do I do wrong? What am I missing?

I do not have an answer, but I've heard things about police station and fire station in another topic. Are there any issues on these that I'm not aware of?

I get a drop down box from the hotel button on top of the UI, saying i need more construction areas for hotels, i have tried to build more hotels, but the percentage doesn change.

Don't worry too much about those dialogs.  Watch businesses, if they need hotels, they will say so.  Your satisfaction ratings are key.  As long as the population is happy your okay. If satisfaction goes too low people will leave.

During beta there was some discussion of an iPhone app associated with Cities XL.  Is that still in the works?  Would be fun to be able to check stats, work trades, etc in a form that is more iPhone friendly than the website.

Will it be possible to use the homemade plugins people made all around the world for cs4 ? So much work. Please say yes. At least the buildings. Or will it be possible to make new ones ? In that case it will be the cs4-sequal with the same cs4-feeling and the same cs-community.  (althouhg Cities XL looks fantastic so far !)

Unfortunately, it does not work as simply with fluctuation in currencies, distribution channels, different taxes per country and so on.

If you look at console hardware or some new game releases, you will see it is not specific to Cities XL.

You do have the extras, but as they are landmarks, they only unlock them once you reach a certain population cap (the first one being 250 000). They will appear in the "Landmarks" section of your construction menu.

Though we do not dislike the idea at all, it is not amongst the top prios at the moment.

The SC4 plugins definitely won't work with Cities XL, sorry.

As said elsewhere, custom content is something that will start slow and which might not be done in exactly the same way as it was for SC4 due to the fact we will support the game over a long period of time. We'll provide more information as we actually progress on this

Please forgive my ignorance, as I've never played sims games like this or simcity before. I find this one fairly enjoyable but is there actually any point to it? How do I win? When do I stop developing cities? When do I move on to other locations etc, I guess what's the overall objective/endgame?
