What else can you say.....stunning. Imagine when we have the ability to have more single use residential flats and hopefully the future ability to place buildings on smaller lots. It's the one ting that's sorta holding this game back right now. The residential areas don't look "authentic" enough and very repeatable. This is no slight against the builder, its just we are very limited right now. It desperately needs that North American style single family housing feel more to it. Or just in general that old Chicago, Detroit, or New York style houses on top of each other look. That and small detailed things like more landscaping and things like parking lots and such. Game has much potential.

I wish those color tones and contrast were what the game looked like. Really nice.

That las pic is weirding me out. It looks as if there is about a mile or so of beach and the road is turned in ward like a race track...is that just my eyes deceiving me?
-
Absolutely amazing. U've inspired me. May I ask what resolution/monitor(hd or not) and graphics card/settings you are using?
-
How did u touch these up?? Photoshop or is that untouched? Regardless one of most impressive cities I've seen for this game, if not the most. Also I'm trying figure out what graphics card/setting some of you are using that have the higher graphic usage. I have a 250 gts and a non hd monitor. Want to upgrade both but not sure if it would be that much worth it in graphic uptick. Keep it up pal!

Looks beautiful! Nicely laid out, I like the tracks running through like that. What are your graphics settings. I'm also wondering how big of a difference does having a HD monitor vs not having one make in this game. I 'm assuming a good amount? Two things are holding me back from re buying. i really want more N.American style single family dwellings and the ability to have smaller lots. Those two things just drove me nuts when playing. Little things like parking lots/more attention to detail things that you would find in a real city. and removal of those ad's would be great too. Anyways very nice man~!

Since there is no government of any kind, what happens to people who deliberately injure or kill others? Nothing, because there is no structure to deal with them. Maybe some one will injure them back. This is the way feuds get started, and now we have clans feuding with each others. Of course, each clan has a head, who is the governor of the clan. So much for no government. Someone puts something in food, say milk, to increase its bulk or whiteness to make it sell better. Does anyone care if the substance is white lead? No. There are no regulations. People die of heavy metal poisoning, and we can't prove who did it because there is no police structure with forensic laboratories to show where this stuff came from. Because all schools and universities need administration, they are closed. Soon, education will be what you can get on the street. From books, you say? What books, we burned them all last winter to keep warm. Seems the hydro grid failed and there was nobody to fix it. Maybe you Bloc Noir types should give it a little more thought. I hope you all know how to build mud huts with thatched roofs. quote> I'm not so sure how stating the reality of how things really work equates to being an anarchist. Enlighten me.....

Everything is an illusion. if you ever knew the history of Goldman Sachs and other you would know this. The United States are not in debt. How the hell could you be if you can print funny money at will. Everything(unfortuntely) works off of a federal reserve note. Kennedy in the sixities signed Executive Order No. 11110 that returned to the U.S. government the power to issue currency, without going through the Federal Reserve. Kennedy's order gave the Treasury the power to issue silver certificates against any silver bullion, silver, or standard silver dollars in the Treasury. This meant that for every ounce of silver in the U.S. Treasury's vault, the government could introduce new money into circulation. In all, Kennedy brought nearly $4.3 billion in U.S. notes into circulation. The ramifications of this bill were enormous. The federal resevere notes are not backed by anything. He would have put them out of business. Are you surprised now his head was blown off five motnhs later? The way Banks shift money and how it grows with each loan is beyond your average persons belief as well. It's all a ramshackle joke. Bottom line is I always find it funny when these hardcore anti socialists act as if they are strong proofing this country against it. Get a clue, its built into our history already if you care to take a deeper look. It's all an illusion just like most things in life. Especially government. Ignornace is bliss as they say.

Looks great man! The reason why I havn't fired this game up since March is because It's hard for me to play with just one frigging lot size per density. The residential in this game sucks. I can't go from 1890 Queen Annes to 70's California ranch. It's all slanted for a European look. Very little North American style single family density houses. U can't make a 30's style neighborhood with crammed houses on top of each other. I can't wait till those two things are implemented then our cities can really look more detailed.

Man if we could find a way to make different sized lots this game could take off like crazy. Obviously that and more trnasit options. I wish the cars turning into brown boxes could be avoided for another zoom at least. Or instead have the vehicles show but washed out. Would like to see the landscaping tools expanded as well. Looks great though!!!

Crisis in south Anderson
DARKO commented on CWLGAMER01's City Journal Entry in ANDERSON - Growing for the future!
looks great! I have a question, how is the landscaping in the full release. Can you plop trees on the painted green? If there is one thing that make the game look better is the ability to plant trees and such on lots and filler lots. Is this possible yet?? -
Are the graphic a tad more polished from the beta/demo, or is it ab out the same??

The problems lie in some fundamental gameplay elements. 1. Curved roads are waay to angular and jagged. They need to be smoothed out. 2. Lots sizes in this game limit the whole scope of the game in such a way it's not even funny. It makes the game feel very stale and limits the realness of building your own hometown. 3. Textures could be better to be honest up close. Terrain is boring as hell. There just needs to be more little details here and there. The streets and buildings lack something. They just feel like cardboard cutouts in a way. 4. Not having mass transit kills. 5. Having half a game for a 40 dollar or more price point is disheartening. This type of genre should always be solo first. 6. Just alot of annoying little things from the trade/building prices..etc. This is not a horrible game, but it needs some major help in the above mentioned to truly take off. From playing just 5 mins of Tropico 3 it reminded me of some things xl is missing. It's the little creative micro management things, the full of life little detail down to cracks in the roads an dinteresting sounds. I understand it would be hard to have textures combined with the type of depth xl offers compared to Tropico, but still the textures just looks so plain and boring compared to a game like Tropico. it just feels like a slightly better graphical update from city life at this point and I think this is what many others are feeling.
