Just an old historical area that was torn down to replace it with a park and subway station (that's LA for ya...)

Markus J: That's a nice looking little park, a refreshing patch of green. Even if it was at the expense of a few historic blocks it's way better than a new parking lot would've been!

Not a park in the beauty sense, but this is inspired by the large open spaces left between towerblocks built in the 60's/70's, common in the UK. Click for full size.

Waterfront Park. Actually a raised park over the Waterfront Station train yard. Replaced the original Waterfront Park that was removed for the construction of the Port of Vancouver and Waterfront Station.

Eventually the line of the Maxis "medium plazas" you see will be custom lotted as a continuous greenway.
