It usually a bad idea to take rookies early in FF drafts. 95% of the time it bites you in the end.

yea, but it would be great to get really lucky one time...

Last year for a keeper I kept Ryan Grant, had an Ok season, but his first half was horrible...

    keeper league I'm guessing.

but he's not been doing as well lately, hopefully he bounces back.

I would like to see Tomlinson break Emmit's record for Rushing yards...

    Yea a keeper leauge.

He had nagging injurys last season, was never realy 100% that and with the other injury problems  SD had, i was amazed the had the run that had at the end. he should be good to go with the offseason rest he got.

oh yea, I almost forgot that they made the playoffs.

First time ever that a team had a three game lead with three to go and did not win.

that was on NFL Network's top ten chokes of all time

My best draft was for the ST league when i got brady and moss for 2007. Nobody thought moss would be good and everyone gave me crap for drafting him so soon, and of course brady was never a top 10 pick until after that season so that looked stupid too. I also grabbed marquis colston after week one which was also luck. Sometimes it pays off to be blind.

Hes a decent back when he gets playing time. he was spliting a lot of time with Deshawn Foster who is gone this season.

Hes the the #1 back for carolina this year, and dont look like thier going to have a comittie this year.

    Probably a decent keeper.

well, he's not my keeper, my team was really bad last year...

I wanted Jones-Drew but he was taken #2

Matt Forte was #1 which I think is really dumb...

^ In that case hes a smart pick. Not a lot of wear and tear because of splitting playing time, and hes getting twice as much playing time so his already good stats should get better.

    thanks ^_^

The reason I like Jones-Drew is that he no longer shares carries at all,

It's close between the two, I really like Williams TD Totals...

    I watched that show once^

apparently Terrel Suggs is the richest linebacker EVER...

pretty good considering he's on a team with one of the best linebackers ever, in Ray Lewis...

one thing that surprised me is that Terrel Suggs is only 26, I thought he was near his thirty's

Did you here about what espn did? They didn't report at all on this story, aside from rothlisberger announcing his innocence, because they said that it was "damaging to his reputation". This angers me for 2 reasons. A) Rothlisberger is scheduled to appear on a new ABC primetime show [abc+espn=disney], so they are clearly just doing this to keep viewers from not watching, and B) They report to death embarassing stories for other athletes, such as Randy Moss or Kobe when they were falsely accused of crimes. Its incredibly unfair and hypocrtical to damage those athletes reputations, then say "O wait a minute, this guys with us, lets protect him".

Hopefully Harrah's wont settle out of court. It would make it appear he's guilty ,Just seems fishy to me there are no criminal charges filed just a civil suit.

    Vick cleared for preseason participation

NEW YORK -- Michael Vick is back in the NFL. Now all he needs is a team to play for.

Vick, free after serving 18 months in prison for running a dogfighting ring, was reinstated with conditions by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday.

Vick can immediately take part in preseason practices, workouts and meetings and can play in the final two preseason games -- if he can find a team that will sign him. A number of teams have already said they would not.

Once the season begins, Vick may participate in all team activities except games, and Goodell said he would consider Vick for full reinstatement by Week 6 (Oct. 18-19) at the latest.

According to ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, a source close to Vick expressed "shock" over the severity of Vick's punishment and said Vick will reapply for full reinstatement as early as Week 1.

Goodell suspended Vick indefinitely in August 2007 after the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback admitted bankrolling a dogfighting operation on his property in Virginia. At the time, Goodell said Vick must show remorse before he would consider reinstating him.

"I accept that you are sincere when you say that you want to, and will, turn your life around, and that you intend to be a positive role model for others," Goodell said in his letter to Vick. "I am prepared to offer you that opportunity. Whether you succeed is entirely in your hands."

"Needless to say, your margin for error is extremely limited," the letter said. "I urge you to take full advantage of the resources available to support you and to dedicate yourself to rebuilding your life and your career. If you do this, the NFL will support you."

Goodell said he spoke to numerous current and former players and coaches as he weighed his decision and that the responses were "very mixed."

"I do recognize that some will never forgive him for what he did," Goodell said. "I hope that the public will have a chance to understand his position as I have."

Vick, once the highest-paid player in the league, said he was grateful for a second chance.

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to commissioner Goodell for allowing me to be readmitted to the National Football League," Vick said in a statement released by his agent, Joel Segal. "I fully understand that playing football in the NFL is a privilege, not a right, and I am truly thankful for the opportunity I have been given.

"As you can imagine, the last two years have given me time to re-evaluate my life, mature as an individual and fully understand the terrible mistakes I have made in the past and what type of life I must lead moving forward," he said.

The announcement came after a busy first week of freedom for Vick, who met with union leaders and Goodell on consecutive days last week. His 23-month federal sentence ended when an electronic monitor was removed from his ankle on July 20 at his home in Hampton, Va.

He met with DeMaurice Smith, executive director of the NFL Players Association, last Tuesday and, on Wednesday, he sat down with Goodell at a security firm in Allendale, N.J.

Goodell said Vick agreed to undergo psychiatric testing, which determined that he was capable of returning to the NFL but needed continuing counseling.

He suggested that preventing Vick from playing at the start of the regular season wasn't punishment but a chance for the quarterback to gradually make a transition back into the league.

"I have thought about every alternative, but I think this gives him the best chance for success," Goodell said. "We are not looking for failure here. We are looking to see a young man succeed."

But Vick's issues are far from over and he needs a team to call his own. So far, the owners of the New York Giants, New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys have said they had no interest in the 29-year-old quarterback. Neither do the Falcons, who officially released Vick in June.

Vick filed for bankruptcy protection last July, listing assets of about $16 million and debts of more than $20 million, and has a hearing about his plan to repay his creditors on Friday in Newport News, Va. That plan is built around his ability to make NFL-type money again.

He's unlikely to command anything close to the 10-year, $130 million contract he once had with the Falcons, or to get endorsement deals after the grisly details of the dogfighting ring were publicized.

Vick pleaded guilty after his three co-defendants had already done so. They told of how Vick participated in the killing of dogs that didn't perform well in test fights by shooting, hanging, drowning or slamming them to the ground.

Vick's appearances at federal court in Richmond, Va., prompted large groups of protesters to gather outside. Many were with PETA and held signs depicting photographs of pit bulls ravaged in dogfights.

Still, there were supporters who wore his No. 7 jersey.

Vick has already taken steps to rebuild his image.

He met with the president of the Humane Society of the United States while serving his federal sentence at Leavenworth, Kan. He plans to work with HSUS in a program designed to steer inner city youth away from dogfighting. He was not permitted to work with the program while in custody.

Ed Sayres, president of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, said the organization hopes Vick "rises to the occasion and proves worthy of the rare second chance Commissioner Goodell has granted him."

"Opportunities for redemption are rare -- but that is exactly the opportunity that awaits Mr. Vick," he said.

Information from The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Now it remains to be seen if any team signs him.  or what kind of condition he is in.  or if he is totally shunned for being a cruel, warped person.

While I agree that he was cruel, this Pro-Vick argument is too good to be denied:

Vick killed dogs, went to prison for what, 2 years?, was banned indefinetely, and will likely serve a short suspension now that his ban is revoked.

Leonard Little killed a man in a DUI, went to jail for 90 days, suspended 8 games, then went on to continue his life making millions of dollars. Vicks career is in ruins. He has no money left. His life has been ruined by this.

So by not allowing Vick a second chance, we are sending the message that dogs lives are more valuable than humans?

    ---------------

I don't think he will last in the NFL anymore though. He was never exactly a scholar of the game...couldn't throw the ball well. Just amazing on his feet. Now that hes been out of sports for 2 years, and out of the NFL, I think he will take a year or two to return to his 2004 form mentally, and he may never physically regain his former abilities. Hes closing in on 30. Most people start to decline athletically around 30, so while QB's like Farve and Manning could play fine till 50, a qb who relies on athleticism won't last very long. Dante Culpepper is a good example.

It's a shame to see a once promising career fall apart like this. I remember how betrayed and shattered Falcon's owner Author Blank looked after this incident.....he put the future of his team in Vick's hands....Good thing lightning struck twice in the same spot when he selected Matt Ryan [my favorite non-patriots player btw].

Vick: Who ever signs him is in for a world of trouble. PETA will be out in force, protesting at the practices and games.

I realy want to see how PETA handles drunk Fans in Philly.

    Cowboys Unveil "The Party Pass"

    http://www.star-telegram.com/332/story/1514122.html

    for $29.99.

In other  words, hes prettied up the the term  standard standing room only. and is going to sell 15- 30K SRO tickets to games. Ill bet if he sells a lot of these those other 4 home games will be sold too.

I listened to the whole Jones speach friday, he also mentioned something i found troubling.

He mentionded they can remove the armrests from the seats push them closer together to get another 8K seats.

I quite sure they  will do this for the superbowl. ( and most likely not move them back). So Enjoy your roomy seats this season.

I have some misgivings about these "party passes," notably that if everyone is standing in the courtyard style plazas, only the people in front will be able to see the field. The rest of the fans will be relagated to standing and watching the football game in all its glory on those impressive HD screens, which I feel would grow tiring; two hours of standing? I would rather watch the game at home with some doritos in hand, infinitely more comfortable. Seems like this is Jerry's way of saying that he isn't pricing the game out of the average fan's reach...

and the local fire department has approved this? Sounds like a safety hazard to me.

or don't they have to worry about getting everyone under cover during a thunderstorm?

I think you raise some good questions. 30 thousand rowdy fans standing in a confined area is asking for trouble. If management can't handle bathroom lines for men at the new stadium how are they going to handle a crisis and an ensuing stampede?

PS: Anyone else think the Cowboys should go ahead and sign Matt Jones, ex Jag reciever?
