My first residential stage 8 was a Large Tenements, and first commercial stage 8 was Jordan Inn (well the Lot Editor says it's stage 8 anyway). Since they are not that huge, I didn't really think much of it at the time.

Is the Jordan inn a stage 8? but it's tiny6.gif

I have said it before and I say it again there should be a list of all buildings, their stage and all properties. I know there is a list in the lot editor but it's very hard to find what you are looking for.

I don't really keep track of my stage 8's. I don't think I have many tall stage 8 commercial, but I have the Pedriona Towers or whatever they are called.

My first C stage 8 was the Pedriana Pharmeceuticals. Once I got that, I got loads of stage 8's being built

My first R stage 8 was the Large Tenements, but I bulldozed it because I didn't want stage 8's at the time.

nope, pedriana is part of the chicago tileset.  the stage 8 for NY is Lind Entertainment.

I honestly can't remember what my first stage 8 was. It was so long ago. <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/6.gif> I remember not getting them and the huge stage 8 bug feasco that ensued, then upon updating I was inundated with stage 8's. <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/9.gif>

That was also the days before modding, and before the LE. The Res and Com 6by lots really helped in many of my cities to bring out the big buildings. <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/4.gif>

Oh, and the Jordan Inn a stage 8? Don't think so. Maybe something got mixed up in the process but that's a stage 5 or 6 max. <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/2.gif>

Are you sure Project Bootstrap is stage 8????? They aren't meant to come until population is 125000 odd! I've got them at 50000! I read that in the prima guide.

If your right then you deserve this bunny for telling me this!24.gif

My first stage 8 was a Project Bootstrap building. I was happy, though I don't consider it that great of an achivement (after all, low wealth project building? 14.gif).

Next, after a number of stage 8 ghetto buildings, in another city, it was the Ong Tower. My first stage 8 building in a successful city. I was obviously happy since, I played for so long, MANY cities later, and finally, getting an Ong Tower. 9.gif

I get the project bootstrap and other large res buildings ( R$&R$$ ) once in a while at 0!  It may depend on your neighbor's population.  I keep all of my ghetto and industrial cities in a corner in my region, so they touch each other.

The Ong Condos, and the one that is based off the Frankfurt skyscraper with the pyramid(prolly Masonic) on top. In one city right by each other.

My first stage 8 CO$$$ was Callahane Communications. The CO stage 8's are much harder to get than all the others, but were especially so in pre patch 2 days.

I found that I got more stage 8's once patch 2 and Rush Hour came out. Also when I learned to rezone 4X4 lots, the simulator quickly filled in it's quota of stage 8's.

Khoury Art Foundation, Cahalane Communications, and Lind Entertainment are stage 8? Who knew? I have those.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

The first stage 8 I got was the Primavera. The pic and the description are from my London region.

Here is the Arts District, I like the way the condos developed in front of the Opera House, nice symmetry. The primavera in this shot is over 1000 years old, and was the first stage 8 bldg. I ever had, I got it before the first patch came out way back in March.

Yes that was not a typo this building had stood over 1000 years game time (at the time of the photo). Obviously there are other stage 8's around it, but they have developed recently. I have been back into my London region lately, and I went into the city where this Primavera is located. The building is still there, I didn't take a new pic, and is now nearing 1700 years old. For those of you that remember the stage 8 bug 7.gif , I had this baby pop up right when everyone was ranting about it. From discussion I read at that time, the Primavera was not locked out, like most of the stage 8 commercial, and other high wealth res. However this building was very rare at that time, so I did everything to make sure it stayed there. It survived from March of '03 until Rush Hour came out, and then was immediately made historical.

That is my first stage 8 and it's history. It is a beautiful building architecturally, and one of my favorites.

Mine was a McClellan (I hope I spelled that right). I still remember getting it; I had a pretty big medium-density commercial area, and my CO$$ demand was high so I thought I'd change some medium zones to high-density ones. Then one of those small 70-80 employee CO$$$ buildings on a 4x4 lot disappeared, and a big construction site took its place. I clicked it and went Oh my GOD, 5500 jobs!?

    Do you have
    RH
? if so, the pop. thresholds for $-wealth buildings were dropped considerably in it...

I'm not sure if I've had a stage 8 yet...  I'm pretty sure I have, but yeah...

My first stage 8 buildings was Jolly Manor($$) and Ryan Apartment.

The first commercial skyscrapers appeared after Rush Hour: Lind Entertaiment, Calahane Communications and Waco Co. I didn't know which one came first (but I have an idea it could be Lind Entertaiment, based on the tileset arrangement); developement in the city skyrocketed after installing the EP. I have just about all of the skyscrapers in SC4, except for Pedriana Pharmeceuticals.8.gif

Is there any simple way to tell what stage a bulding is with accuracy? Do I have to get the Lot editor to tell?
