  1. This may be one of the stupidest questions in Simtropolis history, but if I download a map from STEX, how on Earth can I rotate it? I downloaded a nice Florida map, with the panhandle in the Northeast and the peninsula pointing South. However, I'd like to build in a map where the panhandle is in the Southwest and the peninsula points East, but if I rotate the .jpg file and the config.bmp in Paint, SimCity just simply refuses to create the region. All I get is a large flat area with the city configuration I want, but no terrain.
  2. 14 Story Brutalist Hospital

OK, thanks, it works now. I love it; it's not exactly beautiful, but very realistic -- in fact, it looks a lot like the hospital just across the street from my office!
  3. 14 Story Brutalist Hospital

I don't know if I'm just extraordinarily dim or what, but for some reason I'm not getting any ground props on this lot, even though I DLed all the props listed above. I love the look of this hospital, though. It'd be neat to have it in one of my cities.
  4. Starbucks Coffee House

Looks great, but how come it's CS$$? Given how much coffee costs at Starbucks, I'd call it CS$$$... :)
  5. Rintamamiestalo

In these kinds of houses, the doors seldom if ever face the street. Many of them have (or at least originally had) fairly big yards, which is why the 1x3 lot makes perfect sense. Back when these houses were built, many people wanted to cut their grocery bill by growing their own vegetables.

Make it a little bit brighter yellow, and you have my grandpa's house. Very nice.
  7. Mine was a McClellan (I hope I spelled that right). I still remember getting it; I had a pretty big medium-density commercial area, and my CO$$ demand was high so I thought I'd change some medium zones to high-density ones. Then one of those small 70-80 employee CO$$$ buildings on a 4x4 lot disappeared, and a big construction site took its place. I clicked it and went Oh my GOD, 5500 jobs!?

(cont'd) The riverbanks are also usually too steep for ferries or beaches as it is. The map is still a 10 in my book -- all that minor terraforming is something I can do myself, while the map itself is way beyond my abilities.
  9. Goose Paw

One tiny bit of criticism: the rivers are very deep, so deep in fact that you usually have to do some terraforming to run water pipes across them. I guess the same goes for subways, but that's OK -- in real life they often pop above ground to cross rivers.
  10. Goose Paw

This map has everything: rivers, seashore, mountains, valleys, plains. Excellent job!
  11. The Ionic Zephyr

Doitle, I can now absolve you from all blame when it comes to my CTDs. They weren't due to this lot, I got the same problem in another city and another region without the Ionic Zephyr. I'm sorry for any confusion I caused ; keep up the good work!
  12. The Ionic Zephyr

Well, I do have Rush Hour, so it's not that... the CTD problem could be unrelated, it's just that I only get those with the map that contains the city that had the Ionic Breezer. Maybe the files are corrupted for some other reason. Anyway, I didn't get the tower on this lot, what's with that?
  13. The Ionic Zephyr

This may be a stupid question, but how come I can't see the tower? I do have the "Landmarks and other missing props" plugin, what else do I need? (I'm also getting frequent CTDs after plopping down two of these, maybe for the same reason I don't get the tower.)
  14. Hockey Venue

It looks great! Has anyone tried this with Rush Hour?
