This is fantastic! I'm only on simtropolis for the CJs and I'm pretty sure this is the best one I have seen in all the time I have spent browsing. Out of all of your pictures there may only be about 4 or 5 buildings that seem out of place. Did you grow or plop this? Great work keep it up!

Wow! 6.gif

I must say that I am very impressed by this region.

Did you make those sunken railroad walls + fences yourself?

If so, could you please, please put them on the stex.29.gif I LOVE THEM!

Keep up the good work! I'd like to see a lot more of this region!

DeathtoPumpkins:The quote that runs though the update is from Mikhail Aleksandrovich Bakunin, a early communist philosopher believe it or not. As for living there, neither would I. I just want it to look as depressing and oppressive as possible. Oh, and if you thought that was bad, wait 'till you see this one.

Haljacky: Thanks, I thought the gas mask fit this situation particularly well. 44.gif

JJC12321: Yeah, I kinda forgot to get rid of some of the traffic there, no that many people have cars! 41.gif J/K.I am painting a horribly bleak picture aren't I? Thanks by the way!

GreekMan: Well that's great to hear! You know it is a very addicting thing, Comunism. I wish beebs commented so I could thank her up front =P

bernie: Well, I'm glad I won you over! And I'm honored to have one of your few posts in the 4 years you have been here, thanks so much!!!

qinbenjiaren: I aim to please 3.gif I have been working toward making my cities as realistic as possible and I'm glad it is convincing you. Many thanks!

SirUnger: Thank you Sir! Like I said to qinbenjiaren, it has become a top priority, and am happy to see it paying off!

Nofrit: I am honored to have inspired you, I suppose it is the greatest honor of all. Many thanks, and glad you enjoyed.

Panthersimcity4: After seeing some of the other great flora on ST, I figured I had to get my trees up to snuff. Glad you liked them 9.gif

Danielcote: My, my, you are full of questions aren't you? Let me first say thank you for your inteest! Yes, the power plant is infact nuclear... Thats right, SBU has the bomb, one of the perks for being part of the USSR at one time. Oh, don't worry, the SBU is not going to get melted, they have learned from mistakes of others. There are plenty rich people, just not in this city. Most of them live in the SBU capital of Krasnodar (which I'll show you at one point or another). As for the police, they are around, I just havn't showed any of the stations off.

underwearman2007: Good point!!! Lol, but this isn't anarchy after all.

Justintime: Nice? What about Bleak? Horrendous? Depressing? Opressive?.. Well, I suppose a good adjetive is still good 3.gif. And thanks for the traslate.

ilikehotdogsalot: Ask and you shall recieve. You are one of the people that compelled me to take a... fun... approach to this update, and a few to come. Although the SBU isn't the one getting melted, someone has 9.gif

roboo1: The exciteing part will come as soon as I get around to BATing a suitable way to show it too you. I suppose the after effects will be enough for now. Please read on...

Chris:... I didn't know your name was Chris! Anyway... YOU SHOULD BE AFRAID!!! Just remember that when we start sending reinforcements to help you! (Thanks by the way!)

Trevor: Well, we have the Great El Burro to thank for the reactors, I just presented his beautiful work! Thanks!

foolian118: Gray and depressing is what I do! I used to make nice cheery cities, but this is WAY more fun. I got the inspiration for the sunken rail and the apartments from Halflife 2, being on the train looking on at the grim world was too good a idea to let go. Oh, and the power plant thing is leading to a prominant piece of world history, I hope you can pick up on it!

anarchy0029: Well I'm glad you found it! Thank you very much, and happy to see you enjoying it!

Shingure: dispite beeing one of the cleanist ways to get power, only letting off steam. Nuclear plants have developed a bit of a stigma, and for good reason as you will see shortly.

threeswept: Haunting? Oooo now there is one I like. I bet this next one has haunting written all over it. Thank a million!

choroQ: WOW, Thank you so much!!! I take a long time working out the placement of my buildings, especially for a very style oriented CJ like this. I do a mix of growing and plopping to keep thing relitively random, while being able to controll how things look in the end. Some cities are more plopped than others, this next one for example is completely plopped. Thanks again!

suplado!: I'm glad you picked up on those, I try to fit them with the mood of update. Its just one of the artsy things I like to do. Thank you sir!

Simonopoly: I wish they were mine, but they can be found on the LEX HERE. Thank you very much!!!

belfastuniguy: I am glad to have you sir! I happy that this style of CJ is not exclusively pleaseing to me. Thanks a million!

blue sinjid: Well, get prepared for another update! Thanks a lot.

Ntq$310, feliwi, Artur_001, art128, Almighty Nienaber, deion30296, jutrock, sim-Al2, jacqulina, EvilCoolKid, flyinbird93, Stnggrl, pipishere,  Hawkeye9, : Thanks so much! Glad you took the time to appreciate my bleak view of the world!

I am going outside the SBU for this update to a unique place in what is now Ukraine. Before you bombard me with questions on what happened, I would like to direct you to some information on the event that makes this place important.

And while I have you, I have to say that this is by far my most depressing update so far. So, if you are not into the whole "6.gif that's so sad" kinda thing (and who isn't?) I suggest you find a happier CJ.

    Pripiat - Lessons Learned

A place once owned by nature, claimed by man. Inhabited for an age, built as a gem in the crown of an empire. Tainted by power and controlled by arrogance it is forced to its knees. Abandoned without question, the deed so severe. Nothing to be done but watch it shrink into the horizon, disappearing from sight as they were taken away. A culture's existence, retained in an eternal still life slowly being reclaimed by the forces that held it first. They say mistake is a Buddhist gift, not for the pain of defeat, but for the Lessons Learned.

Your CJ is really brilliant that I want to somehow follow your tracks! Magnifico!

hey! it is pretty depressing! 3.gif ....cant beat it though! i love the mood of this CJ, it really is an accurate representation of the soviet union i think. Not to mention your city and town building skills are really great. Now we just need a Gulag and some multi-headed animals 2.gif

Wow, that's totally bleak... and I like it! 29.gif

One suggestion, if you do the plant itself, don't forget the field of radioactive remote-control bulldozers. 2.gif

BTW, don't you think they would smart enough to at least take the locomotives with them?
