A Brief History: In the shadow of the Soviet collapse in Russia, much of what was the Krasnodar region and The Republic of Adygeya opted to reject the political reform going on in Moscow in the name of preserving Soviet Russia. Bolstered by the area's economic possibilities (given its place on the Black Sea) and overwhelming support of the citizens, Moscow had little choice but to ratify the independence and separation from what would shortly become the Russian Federation. After the instability of the Soviet Union's demise was shaken, The Soviet Black Sea Union was able to grow and develop substantially, slowly  becoming a industrialized nation.

A industrialist city, Kalimgrad is a main the producer, manufacturer, and exporter of thousands of goods. Some of the larger industries include steel mills , petroleum refineries,  automotive factories, and chemical plants, all of which are aided by the cities location between the coast's seaport and the river that passes through the middle.

Kalimgrad, Old City, the (mostly) original part of the city from its pre-communist days. Before the housing projects, massive industrialization, and political renovation, Kalimgrad was a small port city of little importance. Fast forward to the present, and it retains but a glimmer of its former personality as tall gray tenements sprout from the quaint olden style.

I like it very much! Superb banner and superb city. I love the region shot.

What is that smaller satellite town to Kalimgrad? Seems to me as an industrial sector or something, with mines south from there, am I right?

Good ol' Liberty Islands! Someday, I'll repost my old CJ.

    Yay! Kalimgrad has it's CJ!

Great post-communist, dull, old, aged, cold look you have. I really like it for some reason.

Wow, this is so beautiful in a very abstract, dark sort of way! The city and the graphic design is the best combination I have ever seen! Simply AMAZING!!!

    PLEASE keep it up!!!

Fantastic commie style city! I love what you did in the last pic with the added rust on the bridge. It makes the city feel used and lived in. The picture with the rail bridge reminds me of the Stadtbahn crossing that goes through Museum Island in Berlin. Your use of lighting really gives it a gloomy tone! I'll definitely be watching this CJ! ~Ciao

okay, I was planing on making a post-Soviet Union CJ a while ago and I was never able to find a map for that area. so I scrapped the idea. Now that you have a Soviet CJ, I thaught I could ask you where you got yours. So... where did you get yours?
